Manchester United vs Sunderland

The biggest game of the season so far. We need to get through to the final no matter what it takes. We cannot keep losing. The morale of the team can't take more hits right now.

Honestly, I want to win, but I also don't want to watch the team get trounced by City.

I know it is negative, but Moyes is negative. Like dissolves like and all that...

Can't believe some of you would nearly rather we lose so that we don't get beat by City in the final. Get a grip!

It'd be a 1 off game in a neutral venue, we'd have Rooney and Van Persie back hopefully and others, and we're the champions! Bring it on, it might be the only thing we get to cheer this season.

Let's just not play unfit players and only play one of Valencia or Young seeing as we pretty much have to play one of them due to injuries.

--------------De Gea--------------
Rafael--Smalling--Evans--Fabio(please)
---------Fletcher--Carrick------
Valencia-----Kagawa-----Januzaj
--------------Welbeck-----------

Oh it'll be fun, Moyes and Pellegrini can have a big 4-4-2 off at Wembley.

Silva, Toure, Negredo, Aguero, Nasri and Fernandinho.

vs

Young, Carrick, Cleverley, Valencia, Giggs and a specially bloated for the occasion Wayne Rooney. Oh and at least two of our players are just back from injury and rusty as hell.

;)

On the other we could get there and force Joe Hart into doing something really embarrassing, room for a little amusement.

This thread is a bit sad. People actually happy for us to lose just to avoid playing city, it is retarded. We should be going out to win every game and progress in the competition. So what if we end up losing to City, we could just as easily have sorted out our issues come final time, while they get their own issues and beat them.

I swear if I see Valencia & Young on the team sheet on Wednesday evening I won't be responsible for my actions. As soon as they read out yesterday's team with those 2 starting I knew it was going to be a long afternoon.

3 is the magic number, 4-3-3!

Really excited for this match, probably as excited as I have been this season. However, I can see us losing. I can just see the headlines and the stick that we will get, you can just see it happening.

In saying that, if we turn up and perform, we will have enough to win and I'm treating the League Cup as a major incentive this season, would be very important if we can win it.

If we don't go through I think it's curtains for Moyes, I really do.

Team:

De Gea
Rafael - Smalling - Jones - Evans
Carrick - Fletcher
Januzaj - Kagawa - Young
Welbeck

I hope Valencia fecks off in the stands, I'm sick of seeing him playing like a sack of shite. Don't want to see Buttner on the left either. As we all know, Cleverley, Valencia and Buttner will all start and Moyes will wonder where it all got wrong.

Positive about the game. Strangely enough, we looked a more accomplished side today than Chelsea, esp passing wise, and surely our shit luck is going to end somewhere. The team today looked to have a bit more freshness about them in the first half and I hope it's a good sign. 3-1 is a freak result we should not read too much in, hopefully we're coming into good form for the remainder of the season.

Yeah. i think we did play quite well.

... and wish Sunderland all the best against City
But if we actually want to win and face the inevitable at Wembley, then I'd like:
De Gea
Rafael===Smalling===Evans===Fabio
Young===Fletcher===Carrick===Januzaj
Kagawa
Hernandez
Hernandez to hopefully trouble O'Shea and Brown with his pace; Young on the right as I'm tired of Valencia; Januzaj might be tired from his efforts against Chelsea, but if we want to win then he's our best player; and Fabio - for the love of God give Fabio a start, I beg you :(

I'd play the reserves, if they win, they get a wembley final as a reward.

Otherwise I don't want our first team being hammered in Wembley by City. This season has been shit enough without that inevitability.

de Gea
Rafael Smalling Jones Evra
Carrick Fletcher
Valencia Kagawa Januzaj

I'd like to win, and I think Moyes REALLY needs to win this otherwise the amount of pressure may be too much.

At the same time, I don't want to see a lot of players who'll be playing against Cardiff. Last thing we need is more injuries.

Save Rooney and RVP (assuming they're ready) as well as Januzaj. Give starts to Kagawa, Fletch, Cleverley, Zaha, Hernandez.

Valencia - Smalling - Evans - Buttner
Rafael - Jones - Fabio

I can picture it now...We win the COC and the stalls outside Old Trafford will be filled with "Quadruple busters" t shirts

Sad!!

Like the time in 2004 when the amount of treble busting t shirts that were worn around OT after we beat Arsenal in the FA cup semi final

Would like to see this team and a 3-1 win - I have to fricking work

It seems odd, fielding the strongest XI in the league cup semi. During the golden years, it was basically our Youth Cup. Just last season we put out a team of youngsters vs Chelsea, and did a decent job too!

We always played better players in the later rounds. The youngsters get the early rounds no matter who the competition and get rewarded with more League Cup game for good performances.

Would love to see:

----------------- De Gea
Rafael Smalling Jones Fabio
---------- Carrick Fletcher
Zaha -------- Kagawa - Januzaj
--------------- Hernandez

Our midfield options are so fecking uninspiring.
