Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

I did suggest earlier in this thread that the match wasn't going to be the cruising win for Man. Utd that some we saying, and so it's proving so far.

Spurs deserve to be ahead IMO, but I'm sure you'll come back into it 2nd half, but we've a good defensive record in recent games - just 4 conceded in 9 games - so it's not going to be easy for you to win this now.

Thought Ronaldo looked good so far.

Defending has been shocking, as per usual recently.

Rooney seems a little off the pace - has played the wrong ball on a couple of occasions and taken too long to shoot on others.

Evra not getting support from ronaldo when spurs attack and so getting murdered in 1 on 1s with a very on form lennon.

Rio/Vidic had a shocking half.

EQUALS

0-2 to spurs

err no, Evra being poor = 2-0
All this bollox re: Ronaldo tracking back defending etc is driving me up the wall...do we need a team of Dirk Kuyts then? :annoyed:

Before lambasting Nani, consider that some of our most dangerous attacks were because of his superb crossing. He's blown hot and cold like normal but he's created some good chances we could have done better with.

The problem is that he's another one of those characters who we dont yet feel we can rely on in big matches to show the right character and aggression to get us back in the match. The same as Berbatov.

Berbatov got more involved after their second goal. But unsurprisingly has not threatened the Spurs goal. So he needs to keep getting involved and look a threat to the scoreline.

I'm still strangely confident.

good shout. I feel the same. No mountain to big for United to overcome.

In fact I fee like I did when Juve went 2-0 in 1999. Its all there for us to take. we just have to really really want it. We can do this. We have done it many many many times before.

I thought we played rather well. Underserved score line. Hope we can correct this in the second half.

Considering we're 2-0 down at home to Tottenham Hotspur, we've not played that badly.

Well, except for Evra, who's been an absolute fecking joke.

Fletcher's been rubbish, but at least the will is there.

Need something to go in quickly though, and for Rooney to stop fannying about.

speechless. Ronnie, Nani and Rafael are our only attacking threat. Whats the obsession with us playing the longball upto Rooney? It hasn't worked once so far and its just pissing Rooney off.

Evra has been average, but Vidic nor Rio weren't great either.

I say Rio cost us 1 goal and Vidic & Evra 1 between them. :D

C'mon you reds, remember 3-0 at HT ?

Heres to hoping this turns out like Everton 2-4 Match a few years back. Goals from anywhere please. If we get the first I can see us getting more but it just seems like it's not gonna happen today. :( That gomes save was crucial. If only that woulda gone in!!

We can turn this around, need to get at them from the start and get an early goal. If we can put Tottenham under severe pressure, there are goals for us, we need to maintain pressure.

Ronaldo - Berba - Rooney
-------Tevez-----------

When really I would hope to see Berba upfront with the trinity behind.

5-2 win

Official: Tevez is on for Nani

Must mean Rooney wide left/right.

Should improve our general play somewhat and SAF is obviously trying something different up front as the front two didnt really work in the first half. With some luck both Tevez and Berbatov will get on the scoresheet. But if they are going to come through in the premiership this season, then it has to be in this next 45 minutes.

What's Nani done wrong this time?

It's not his fault that Evra's playing like a fecking zombie, and bringing on Tevez is hardly going to change that
