Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

I'd love to see Rafa's reaction if there's a repeat of this in the dying minutes.

1-0 Ronaldo.

I see Berbatov, Giggs and Anderson being rested for this game. Park will probably come back into the team as he's had a good amount of rest in the last 3 games. Hoping Evra avenges Lennon for the CC final. Ronaldo should be up for this one, he's due a MoM performance

We need to win 4, and draw 1 of our remaining six games. Win this game and only three more wins (and a draw) required

I see another 2-0 from this one. Once again it won't be pretty, but until we're out of Europe, it really can't be.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Rafael
CB: Vidic
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Carrick
CM: Fletcher
LM: Park

CF: Rooney
CF: Macheda

Subs: Foster, Brown, Scholes, Giggs, Anderson, Nani, Tevez

2 - 1... Carrick and Macheda to score

i still believe!

I'd have

------------VDS---------

Rafael---Vida---Rio---Evra

Scholes----Carrick----Fletcher

Ronaldo----------------Rooney

------------Berba-------------

Come on Berba you got your critics am one off them..... Please if you play prove me wrong and shut me up

I see every writing that Rafael should start. I would love him to start but is Wesley fit

no place for incompetent strikers in united. I would swap him for eto or wagner love in a heart beat.

Having said that, i would fully support him if he does play and hope he proves me wrong but i guess he is too lazy for that as well.

I cant help but remember Guti of real madrid everytime i watch that lazy feck berba play for us. Lazy cnuts the both of them. At the moment berba = very expensive crouch. I would be glad if he proves me wrong though.

Yeah, I like that. Very attacking minded, get at Spurs from the first minutes and take our bloody chances!

I really dont give a monkeys who's playing against spurs. we have some clear daylight between us and the vermin now so I just want 3 points this weekend so they really begin to understand its out of their hands and slippin away from them rapidly. no more slip ups please. 3-1

Rio and Rafa to start

Rio Ferdinand is fit for Saturday's tea-time clash with Tottenham, while Rafael da Silva is a confirmed starter at right-back following injuries to Gary Neville and John O'Shea.

Ferdinand was rested for Wednesday's win over Portsmouth following his exertions in the FA Cup semi-final - which included extra-time - last weekend. The defender has struggled with a groin problem in recent weeks, but Sir Alex confirmed the England international will play on Saturday.

Wes Brown may also be included in the squad after coming through his second game for the Reserves on Thursday night, but is not expected to start.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville will be missing for the next two weeks after hobbling out of the Pompey victory, but John O'Shea should be available for the Champions League first leg against Arsenal.

The scan on Thursday showed the Irishman had suffered no damage after injuring himself in a tackle against Pompey. O'Shea did some light jogging on Friday and is expected to be okay for Wednesday.

Gary Neville out for two weeks.... not this again!

you know there is a story that United wasn't going to beat fc porto on his pitch... you know...

Van der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Park Carrick Anderson Ronaldo
Rooney
Berbatov

Subs: Foster; Brown, Evans; Fletcher, Scholes, Nani; Tévez

Difficult to pick the bench, but I think I'd leave out Giggs completely so he'll be fresh for Arsenal if needed (though I probably wouldn't start him there either). Macheda is the other I wanted on the bench, but I still can't really put him ahead on Tévez of the bench. However, Nani may well not be on the bench anyway.. I can also see Tévez starting over Berbatov before the Champions League clash with Arsenal.

Going to be a toughy, but I think we'll win 2-0.

I think Spurs will take a beating from us!

Come on United.

In light of the discussion to dominate the Caf today:

Berbatov (2), Tevez (2) - 4-0

Four you guys putting Anderson in the starting line up, I'd seriously doubt that. he looked exhausted in the second half on Wednesday, just three days after he had completed 120 on a heavy Wembley turf. I think both him and Giggs will be rested for the Arsenal match on Wednesday.

My team of choice would be:

----------Vds-----------
Rafael-Rio-Vidic--Evra
---Carrick----Fletcher---
Ronaldo------------Park
-----Rooney--Berbatov--

That's a team consisting of most of our best performers this season IMO. Pogue said in another thread that he wanted Nani to be given the nod ahead of Park this time around, and to a certain extent agree with him. I still want Park to start though as he'll provide more help defenisively for Evra than what Nani will. Evra has really struggled when he's faced Lennon lately, so he dependes on help from the winger.

Looks like I was a bit hasty with my prediction of no injuries apart from Dawson, since Pavlyuchenko is out.

Revised predicted line-up:

--------- Gomes -------
Corluka - Woodgate - King - Ekotto
--------- Palacios -----
Lennon -- Jenas -- Modric
----- Keane - Bent

Subs: Cudicini, Hutton, Zokora, Huddlestone, Bale, Bentley, Defoe

And if by any chance King doesn't play (always possible) then Corluka will most likely take his place, with Hutton coming in at RB.

Hutton could maybe start anyway since he's more attack-minded than Corluka and Redknapp has said: "We will go there and have a go. We are not going to sit back."

So it should be a good open game, with no attempted 'bus-parking' from Spurs.

I think Spurs will prove more difficult to beat than maybe some are imagining - but we shall see. We're not troubled by relegation worries any more and so should be able to play with no underlying tensions or nervousness. I hope Harry just tells the players to go out and fully express themselves - to go for a win and not worry about losing.

tough game I'd say but you never know with United these days. they could run up the score on Spurs or get beat.

take any score that gives us 3 pts :D

I want a late winner so I can go read rawk and read the I knew this was gonna happen or feck off or just turned the shit off or didn't want the league anyway.

Tevez isn't in the squad according to the BBC. What is going? We need everyone at this stage of the season.

I like it that we don't panic when our youngsters get starts. Thank feck.

3 - 0 for us, if our finishing improves.

We need a 5 star performance tomorrow, we need to move up a gear and reach our real potential which we havent yet this season.
