Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

De Gea shows some balls at least, now need him to be just as aggressive when dealing with crosses

This. If aint gonna catch just punch it and anything between the ball and your fist. Attackers face doesn't matter. Solid besides that though pleased for the lad he needed the confidence boost.

We were f'n mint!

It was a very hard strike and it swerved quite a bit. VERY few keepers would hold such a ball, so I think people should focus on how fast De Gea was to recover it.

But they won't of course, as it doesn't fit their agenda.

Exactly. Hardly any keepers would have held that, that was always getting palmed somewhere. He managed to get back on it, he did well.

I wish people would stop with the 'De Gea made a mistake, omg he's shit, not the one we should have bought, I was so wrong about him. :(' etc.

He's going to make many many more mistakes. We knew this when we bought him, we said this when we bought him.

FT 3-0.

Great performance, the young lads are looking good, and great to see De Gea get a clean sheet and get the OT crowd behind him. Me personally, I loved it everytime he collected the ball in his hands, they were cheering and clapping him.

Glory Glory Man Utd

De gea's personality is not a worry for me, just think he's technically abit raw but he's young and there is alot of time for the goalkeeping staff to work on him.

I reckon Friedel made as many "mistakes" as De Gea if I'm being honest.

That was an immense second half. Unbelievable stuff at times, especially considering the players we were without.

A clean sheet for De Gea!!!!! YEAH!

Not sure how many we'll have of those with him between the sticks.. :(

He will be alright. In a way, it is ok for him to be experiencing moments like that. All teachable moments. I am not worried about him because of the squad it seems we are building. We are going to be scary when these guys learn to play with each other.

And now we get to hear Gary Neville analyse the game, things just couldn't get any better.

He could start breakdancing in the background and carry on doing that while the other guy covers the analysis. That would be amazing.

glad for de gea. a clean sheet should make him feel a lot better now. his distribution is top class. a couple of poor handlings but he deserves to be a bit lucky after the previous 2 games.

the defence is brilliant. jones, smalling and evans are going to be our team backbone for years to come. and we got the da silvas as well.

cleverley-ando are just . hope they can stay injury free.

we still need to work out with our corners..i expect much better corners from young.

welbeck had a shit first half but what a difference a goal makes for a striker.

we could have scored 5 or 6 actually. that's the only disappointment of the day.

That was an absolutely ridiculous performance from Spurs. They had ONE plan: SHOOOOOOT! It didn't work out! It was quite obvious from early on. How about having a go at our very, very young and newly composed defense?! No? Nah. ShOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

Exactly. Jones and Evans for me, in particular did exceptionally well. But Welbeck did M12 proud.

How many times did Rooney lose possession? Once? This is near the best I've seen him. Nani in the second half was sensational at times, they both were.

Welbeck after the goal, you could see it was all he needed. He must have had some doubts himself after a shaky first half but he was brilliant in the second. It's going to do absolute wonders for him, very exciting times.

Apparently our second youngest ever side we fielded in the premier league and we won Spurs pretty handily.

Youngest if you don't count the match against Hull where we'd already won the league. Fantastic achievement.

Quite right. Once enough people have said something (Nani is inconsistent, De Gea is shit at X and Y etc.) it seems that everyone goes on and on about it. People even claim that De Gea was looking shaky when he saved a low shot right at the post, despite him getting the body behind the ball and blocking it out. If any other keeper makes a save like that it simply goes unnoticed, but because it's De Gea it's a apparently a sign of weakness because he didn't catch it.

The criticism he got from not dealing properly with the cross is fair of course, but many people are simply looking for excuses to point out that he's a shit keeper and should be sold to highest bidder right away.

Can't agree more, Welbeck has some immense skills in his locker, I've noticed he often receives the ball with his back to goal, he's obviously decided he has the skill to turn a defender inside the box but the moment he got himself facing the net, unlucky spurs.

Phil Jones, is a complete freak of nature. 19? feck off. Looks as if he's been playing here for years, and that tackle around the 75 minute mark on the right hand side of the box was just incredible, I didn't think he had the speed to reach the ball in that fashion.

But Smalling....Is there anything he can't do? The boy looks like he's been right back for a long time, and then a winger for the rest of it. He's like a fully complete next generation John O'Shea. Versatile but completely solid and comfortable, basically everywhere. Evans as well, great game for him, a few last ditch tackles that went were barely commented on but were excellent.

The two of them are complete freaks, I can only think other clubs are kicking themselves wondering how we've managed to sort our back four so well for the future.

The team were waiting for something special to happen, and when it did happen after a wonderful Cleverley cross/Welbeck header, it took its positive effect on everyone.

The 3 young defenders were superb with Jones being the pick of the bunch at 19. What a signing.

VDV was an embarrassment. I think someone whispered "shoot a lot" too many times in his ear.

Good stuff, especially the second half where we played some sexy football indeed. DDG did great and his distribution is top class. Should take this game with him now and really suck on it!

They were trying to go for our young, inexperienced keeper instead and it didn't work out. They had replays of Dzeko's goal in their heads on repeat.
