oh dear another sunday match. We could found ourselves in relegation zone by the time we kick-off this match. :(

Our season starts here

Team should be/hopefully will be....

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Nani
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Tevez
CF: Saha

I'm think we'll batter them 4-0, Tevez getting his first for us

We (Spurs) should have one or two players back from injury for this match.

Lee returned at LB against Derby - a welcome change from having all 3 of our LBs injured - and it definitely improved our performance.

Bale has been back in training a few days now, but whether Jol will consider him to be match fit by next weekend is hard to say right now. And whether Jol will want to introduce him into our first XI so quickly, especially in a difficult away match, is also open to question. At the very least it opens up the possibility of playing Lee at LB and Bale in LM. Our other LB (Assou-Ekotto) is still out.

Dawson might (?) also return as CB, but Kaboul looks unlikely and King is definitely out for a few more weeks yet.

In midfield, Lennon will definitely be out, but Prince Boateng should be match fit by then and might well feature on the bench. Other than that we have no midfield injuries that I'm aware of.

Up front I suspect it'll be touch and go as far as to whether Berbatov's groin strain has healed, but our other 3 strikers are all fit.

Provisional team at a guess:

---------- Robinson ---------
Chimbonda - Dawson - Rocha - Lee
--------- Huddlestone -------
Malbranque -- Jenas -- Taarabt
------- Bent - Defoe ------

Subs: Cerny, Gardner, Zokora, Prince Boateng, Keane

Im too bitter and twisted to be thinking about this yet.....

I highly doubt you'll start Taarabt at OT when you've failed to start him at White Hart Lane especially against Derby. I'd also think it's more likely that Zokora and Keane would start as oppose to Huddlestone and Defoe

You could be right, in which case it may be Routledge in RM and Malbranque in LM. However, Taarabt did well when he came on and had a definite impact, as he has in every game he's featured in so far, so Jol might just decide it's worth the gamble.

Not too sure about that. Huddlestone played really well on Saturday and his defence splitting passing game could be just what we need.

Also Keane has looked out of sorts in the last 3 games, so Defoe might just get the nod this time. However, if Berbatov is back then all bets are off.

Hope to see Anderson and Saha return to the side for this match.

Why are we playing most of our matches on sunday???

VDS
Brown
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra
Hargreaves
Carrick
Scholes
Giggs *sigh*
Tevez
Nani

Champions' privilege.

Hope to see Anderson and Saha return to the side for this match.

Too soon for Anderson, he isn't ready i don't think. However things are going for us now, we must be patient with him.

Agree absolutely on Louis though, we may only get an hour or so out of him, it being his first game back and all, however i am confident that in that time he'll make an impact [on his own or for someone else].

Who knows, Ole on the bench, now that'd be much nicer.

I'm going to be optimistic here, despite there being no form to base it upon.

3-0

A goal in each half, looks like it'll be 2-0 and then we sneak an extra one in injury time.

I'll take the scrappiest of 1-0s as well however, why be fussy? :)

Must you pick such a wide margin of victory? If you've picked scores like that so far this season, I suggest you change it. I think we'll beat them, but I doubt it will be by 4.

I think after the city loss, our boys will wake up from the funk that they're in. No matter what though we need a big atmosphere at Old Trafford on sunday. I think 2-0 United.

I highly doubt Jol will take the 'gamble' just yet. Considering your lot just hit some form and Uniteds squad would no doubt be low on morale... I think he'll go for the more solid set-up, not running any risks just yet.

wtf man,...D,D,L,...so far.

I've heard about making the league more exciting and shit, but this is really starting to get ridiculous. Its almost as if the Devils are trying to make a documentary on "how to lose the EPL title in 5 games" :nono:

so we don't hv rooney or ronaldo,...wat about the rest of the squad, are they just there to make up the numbers?? This is not an excuse :nono:

The devils had better beat the spurs upside down in the comin game. 2-0 at very goddamn least. Its about time i stop payin out to my bookie and started to collect.

Suicide rates will increase if the devils don't start winnin soon.

 Only in Asia mate.

But lets hope not.

Just a suggestion ut whoever starts matchday threads from now on could they lso include (if) it is televise, on which channel it will appear whther it be Terrestrial, SkySports or Setanta?

Ths game appars to be on SkySports 1 if you wanted to include it in the original details?

If Saha is not available:

________________VDS________________
BROWN _____ RIO _____ VIDIC ____ EVRA
_CARRICK ____ HARGREAVES ___ GIGGS _
_______NANI __________SCHOLES ______
_______________ TEVEZ ______________

If Saha is:

________________VDS________________
BROWN _____ RIO (C) _____ VIDIC ____ EVRA
_CARRICK ____ HARGREAVES ___ GIGGS / NANI
_______ ____NANI / SCHOLES __________
_______ SAHA _______ TEVEZ __________

Hopefully we have better injury news for this one.

I'd like to see...
--------------VDS--------------
Brown---Rio--------Vidic------Evra
------Hargreaves--Scholes--------
-----------Anderson--------------
-----Tevez----------Nani-----
-----------Saha------------

Given the fact that i strongly doubt Fergie will start Anderson, i'd have Carrick in the side instead, but switched with where i put Scholes.

I'd really love to see Anderson given a go in that role though, at some point this season. It's the role he's made for, and he can run at men, beat them, and slide people through.

Interesting how the captain's left out thre eh!! I'm with you btw!

Andersson - hamstring injury so Scholes and Carick as yyou mentioned not a bad line up.. this is all of course assuming that Saha is back playing for us!

Ok, i didn't even know the Anderson news, i thought he just 'hasn't been ready yet'. Fair enough then, Carrick, or perhaps even Giggs in that role. I like the idea of whoever plays at the point of the three to be able to carry the ball, and perhaps beat a man.

Hopefully his hamstring will be fine by then, the game's not until sunday and he's been rested since the Glentoran game. 2 and a half week.

Didn't he strain his hamstring against peterboro a week before the glentoran game? Fergie kept him out in the following friendly the next day (although he said he'd play on both days for 45 minutes), but then played him against Glentoran... if he still felt his hamstring, it would explain why Anderson wasn't running at men and just kept things simple at a walking pace.

Nope went for a 2-1 win against reading, a draw or defeat against Pompy and a draw against City so I haven't actually been that wide of the mark with any of my predictions thus far
