Manchester United vs. Valencia CF | Champions League | 7/12/10

hughferris 150th game in a row SAF has failed to name unchanged team. #mufc

Why would our best performer on the night be made a scapegoat for the performance

He usually gets blamed when we lose. I didn't hear SAF's comments and SAF is right as Ando was our only good player against West Ham and he was brilliant against Blackburn. Both he and Carrick are playing better in recent weeks and I hope it continues.

Strong bench as well.

Amos :nervous:

He looked terrible last time I saw him play, that's just slashed the odds of us getting the clean sheet record. PIG must definitely be off in Jan.

To be honest I doubt Amos being in goal would affect the odds that much, if at all. He's still got Rio and Vidic in front of him and I'm sure Fergie isn't expecting shots to be raining in on our goal.

Seems like we are playing the team like we will against Arsenal, with 1 or 2 exceptions

Only one defender on the bench. Fergie does not want this record.

you have to think that we are going to have the lion's share of the possession.
our defense should be more than adequate. also, i think resting vds might not be such a bad idea before a crucial sequence of games coming up.

I can't remember the last time we played such a strong line up in the UCL group stages. Last year we seemed to play semi reserve teams in each match. It's strange to see such a strong United lineup in the group stages

Pablo is the only real threat in that Valencia side. Banega's hardly played at all this season.

My thoughts exactly

Amos in goal?

Other than that it's a good team, glad Anderson's not been made a scapegoat for the West Ham performance.

Good team but cant say im sure about Amos...

Great great team apart from Amos probably.

I rate Amos

Right on queue Scholesy. It used to be funny but it's becoming predictable now.

I do rate him though. I like his kicking and the type of person he seems. Kicking is the first thing I kind of look for in a goalkeeper and Amos is good with the ball at his feet. The rest of his game, I haven't really seen enough to make a final opinion, although I have seen him make some great saves for the reserves. He does look to be sometimes in slow motion but I like him - especially his kicking.

I really wanna watch this game but I have a final tomorrow that I really have to study for!

Great tekkers.

I get giddy seeing just one of the twins.

Great lineup. We needs this win.

I almost spat out my drink when I read the lineup. No VDS and no PIG? Oh this is not good. I guess that record is not ours this year then.

In fairness to Scholesy i like Amos as well, anyone who's watched him regularly in the reserves will know he commands his box well and is a good distributor.

I can understand why people are nervous about him playing due to his lack of experience, but don't write him off as i think he has potential.

Well that's odd to say the least, kicking is something that can help make a good keeper great but you shouldn't be rating a keeper just because of that if you haven't seen enough of the rest of his game. For me he hasn't shown me he's any better than Heaton but Amos is incredibly young for a 'keeper so the jury is out. I'm not expecting him to ever challenge for the no.1 jersey though.

Oh and what has his personality got to do with his ability?
