Manchester United vs. West Ham United

Nice

Everyone on here seem to agree, that Carrrick should start, with either Scholes or Fletcher rested. This might be the perfect game for Scholesy to take a break. I also miss Fletcher-Carrick, it's been a while
Also Valencia needs some time on the bench in my opinion.
Nani, despite missing that penalty should play on the right, with Giggs on the left wing. The two up front for me should be Rooney-Berba, with Owen on as a sub. If Rooney isn't fully fit, Owen-Berba for me.
Don't see Chicharito making an appearance this time. Might as well leave him out and include Macheda.
Park is less likely to play, except maybe if Scholesy starts. To sort of provide the extra legs
Rafael on the right is a must. O'Shea should be dropped
With all due respect to West Ham, I think we'll get a 6-0 sort of result.
Rooney, Owen and Berba to all score
Vidic from a corner too. He was close on a couple of occasions last week

I like the 6-0 prediction! Hope so. Btw, look at your pms.

I would go with Valencia, Fletch, Carrick and Nani. Valencia hasn't been amazing but he needs to play a bit more, dropping him to the bench will not do much good for his confidence. Nani needs to start thinking he is Nani, and forget the delusion that he is Ronaldo. This multiple personality disorder is not good for him. Focus your talent on being efficient and useful, lad.
I expect Berba and Rooney to score 2 each and get a nice rest after about 60 minutes. Come on United!

VDS

Rafael Vidic Evans Evra

Valencia Scholes Carrick Giggs

Berbatov Rooney

That is a highly sexual line up.

we wont win by six i like that line up though its rare to see scholesy and giggs start...whats the deal with fletcher?

Do we really need him in this sort of fixture? I'd be up for picking the most expansive team possible.

I also want to see Carrick begin the stake a claim again after his good Community Shield performance.

What channel is this on?

It is on ESPN yeah, at 16:45 BST. Anyway, can't wait for this match. Might have a fiver on Rooney to score first.

EDIT: Sorry, wrong time. 16:45 according to the website.

We'll be well up for this after the Fulham result. 4-0.

Nah. Standard 3-0 with lots of good play but we'll barely get out of first gear after the 1st goal.

Next 2 games are hard though. Everton and Liverpool :nervous:

MOgdenTelegraph Worrying for Owen Hargreaves, SAF wondering
'whether I can afford to allot one of 25 squad places to Owen as he continues fitness battle.'

not really news is it
it can be changed in jan
even if he is very close to fitness , he is unlikely to be involved with the first team for the next 4 months after spending 2 years out with injury

Please No John O'Shea at right back...please! i cant put myself through another 90 minutes of hopeless ball control, random off target 'crosses' launched into no mans land and general wankness any time hes on the ball, that display at Fulham last week was embaressing, his second touch is a tackle every bloody week.

tbf, you should create every match day thread. It looks class but shame that most of the time your predictions are always wrong ;)

Haha, I'm just playing around.. was not too far off versus the Barcodes though! 10/11 in the starting XI and 1 goal off (2-0).

Did you watch O'shea last week? was any part of his game even remotely acceptable? It was without doubt one of the very worst full back displays ive seen in years and i mean by any full back, he was beyond woeful, Rafael may make the odd defensive blunder but its not as if O'sheas particularly solid defensively either, the number of times he was skinned last week was ridiculous for a player of his experience.

He was awful as he has been all pre-season.

Rafael > O'Shea all week and twice on sunday.

fecking hell.

O Shea was excellent in 08/09 and perfectly ok last season til his injury. Give him a chance.

Valencia has been quiet since the Community Shield so I'm liking the fact that he's isn't starting today...

If O'Shea starts after last week's dismal performance, why doesn't Valencia?

Good bench.

#mufc line up: VDS; O'Shea, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs; Rooney, Berbatov

apparently...

Thought Carrick was going to get a start today in all honesty, he really has fallen out of favour, i suppose not surprisingly but if hes going to stay then id have thought we need to give him some football.

O'shea over Rafael again. :(

Vidic is captain despite Giggs playing, strange.

Nothing wrong with that, he's probably going to be our captain for the next few years so what's the point in him relinquishing the armband every 2-3 games that Giggs is going to start in?

Agreed the Captain's role should be more settled
