Manchester United vs West Ham United

Cannot wait, hope Nani, Roo and Ando start

I suspect they will.

De Gea
Jones Smalling Evans Buttner
Fletcher Anderson
Valencia --- Rooney --- Nani
Hernandez

DDG - Jones, Rio, Smalling, Buttner - Nani, Scholes, Anderson, Giggs - Rooney, Chicharito.

Subs: Amos, Wootton, Carrick, Cleverley, Valencia, Welbeck, Van Persie.

I like to see at least 2 youth players in this game, maybe Vermijl and Tunicliffe or Cole. The rest should be a mixture of first teamers and squad players.

DDG

Rafael
Smalling
Jones
Buttner

Valencia
Anderson
Scholes
Giggs

Hernandez
Rooney

My prediction right there.

There are senior players whom need games. Some youth lads may make the bench but thats it.

Wootton is on loan...

Just took a look at West Ham's away record in the Prem, it's atrocious. 8 points from 10 games and only scored 5 goals away from Upton Park all season. Reckon we will see something like this on Wednesday:

De Gea
Jones - Smalling - Evans* - Buttner
Scholes - Anderson
Nani - Rooney - Giggs
Hernandez

* if fit.

Should be good enough to see us through, with Nani, Anderson and Rooney getting valuable time on the pitch.

Bench: Amos, macheda, Fletcher, rvp, kagawa, carrick, Rafael

Prediction: 2-0 nani, giggs

So is Lindegard injured then?
Had the flu for the Liverpool game - after the "mistake" I think it might be good for DDG to play again Wednesday just to keep his confidence on the up.

DDG
Jones, Smalling, Evans, Buttner
Valencia, Scholes, Anderson, Nani
Rooney, Chicha

To think in that line up except for DDG - none started against Liverpool and aside from Buttner that could a starting line up that can could be considered a side that can beat any team in the league.

ITV are advertising a replay tomorrow night, but not on Wednesday.

Whatever the individual selections, I'd like to see a strong team and an all-out effort until at least 70 minutes in. I know Fergie values rested players over team momentum, but he's done a good job of negotiating the winter pile-up without anyone playing too much. The injuries actually mean that lots of our team should be pretty fresh and well-rested.

So now let's get a bit of that momentum going before Madrid. There's nothing less inspiring than scraping through a LC replay against West Ham, except losing it. It's not even about the players - with all due respect to West Ham, if our three injury recoveries play, the team will be strong enough to beat them. It's about telling the lads, for once, to go for it properly for longer than 45 minutes, and not to stop trying at 2-0 up as usual.

Just because it is the FA Cup and Wet Ham's form can be a bit patchy, doesn't mean that we can chance our arm with both Scholes and Giggs in the same midfield, the fundamentals haven't altered on taht head.

Wouldn't want Evans risked if he was feeling his hamstring on Sunday.

Quite sure Rafael will play, he missed most of the games during the Christmas period and with Evans out, Vidic played on sunday and Rio surely given a rest tomorrow it will be Jones and Smalling as CB.

That's great news concerning Vidic, I was dreading him being out for long.Looking forward to seeing Nani again, hopefully he can soon get back to his best form especially as Young will miss the Spurs game.

He's played two games in a week before, and I really don't want to see us take too many chances with the line-up. If Rooney isn't going to be able to start then I would definitely want Persie in there. If it turns out to be overkill we can take him off as soon as we have a bit of a cushion.

I'd like to see us take the FA Cup as seriously as possible.

It's just that next weekend is a big match against Tottenham.I'd prefer to keep our most important players fresh for that one.

I traditionally look forward to these kind of games for the same reason, but I must say there isn't really anything too exciting available in the reserves at the moment anyway. We don't have a Pogba, Morrison, Rossi, Welbeck kind of talent in there now - in the U18s perhaps, but not the U21s, at least who are not on loan.

That's brilliant news regarding Vidic.

I know what you mean, but still sounds crazy that concussion is brilliant news.

I was really worried when he landed on that knee - he looked quite uncomfortable too.

Something like that would be good to see. I noticed, though, that Fergie didn't mention Anderson when he gave the injury update earlier. Hope it's just an oversight.

I'd pretty much start the best available X1 with the exception of Ferdinand, VP and Cleverley.

Cleverley and VP will be super important on Sunday, so need to be 100% fresh.

Rooney and Nani hopefully come in and get back into the swing of things, and Vidic, we do need to start to test how he reacts to 2 games so quickly.

We don't want to have to have both Ferdinand and Vidic that we need to nurse in and out once a week.

With Evans being out - I'd like to see

DDG
Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Buttner
Nani, Anderson, Scholes, Giggs
Rooney, Chicha

Lets not risk Rio or Vida

I second this. It's time to give Rafael a break, and a good game to reintroduce Ando, Nani and Rooney.

Or perhaps Val to RB and Giggs on the left?

Play the reserves until the FA stop fixing our draws!

Even if it means we have to go with Wooton, we have to protect our CBs if there's any doubt about their fitness. But this...

De Gea
Jones Smalling Evans Buttner
Fletcher Anderson
Valencia --- Rooney --- Nani
Hernandez

...looks very strong.
