Manchester United vs. Wigan Athletic

Why the feck is Lindegaard ahead of De Gea? I was not happy the way Fergie rotated those two last year and if it keeps up again this year I will be gutted, does not work out well at all.

All things aside I want revenge on these motherfeckers but that lineup does not look like we may get that, could be an edgy afternoon.

I'd say it worked out well last year. DDG was on his way to Heurelho Gomes-like debut until Lindegaard took over (and played quite well I might add.) After he came back, DDG looked like a totally different player.

Plus it's Ryan Giggs. Giggs and the word 'embarrassing' should never be used in the same sentence (same goes for Scholes.)

It's funny that, complaining about having two of the most talented players in our team in the team...imagine telling your kids that: "it was a nightmare having Scholesy and Giggsy in the team towards the end". Meanwhile they're watching the season review for 11/12 and first thinking, wow, Giggsy set up so many goals even then, and then seeing Scholes after his comeback dominate midfield after midfield...funny.

Aside from the handful of games in the second half of last season that were most certainly embarrassing.

Nah, Giggs deserves kinder phrases, such as 'off the pace', or 'wasn't really his day' etc. As well, he has a history of proving the doubters wrong (remember how 'off the pace' he was for most of 2007-8?)

And in a slightly nostalgic vein, shouldn't we be enjoying these last opportunities to watch these legends play (and likely play well?) In 10 years time, I'm pretty sure I'll be fondly remembering Giggs and Scholes' last games rather than dwelling over a potentially underwhelming performance against Wigan (unless they descend to the level of Neville during his last days, in which case, I'm pretty sure they'll both remove themselves from the equation.)

Yeah but this year on the whole he's looked fine, made a few errors but in fairness he's not been helped by a defence in front of him that has been questionable to say the least. He's also pulled of some great stops. Dropping him after that was harsh and unnecessary. Thing is he's a young goalie, you have to expect mistakes, Joe Hart usually makes mistakes and although they aren't analysed as much by the media most people will know he's not the finished article yet, but you have to play through them. Hopefully he'll show a positive reaction but guess we'll have to see.

Scholes and giggs should never start in the same team. Slow, predictable build up play.

Last year DDG was dumped on the bench for good reason, this year he started well and has been tossed on the bench regardless.

I don't really think De Gea has done anything wrong so far this season, dropping him is a bit stupid if you ask me.

It's a wooden thing that people sit on, often found in parks.

When the GK's were rotated DDG had poor games (game against Blackburn, Cup game v Liverpool). His best and most consistent performances came when Lindegaard was out and rotation stopped. I don't think rotation has improved DDG's confidence and it's no coincidence his best games came when rotation stopped because Lindegaard was injured.

I don't think it's fair on DDG to drop him when Rio and Vida are fit. He's hardly had a settled defence in front of him, he deserves a run of games with our first choice defence.

I agree. Just hoping this is another one of Fergie's masterstrokes.

So Nani is starting and Valencia is on the bench. Giggs starts ahead of Valencia.

Nani on?Valencia off?????

Love me a bit if buttner, his name reminds me of butter...and butt sex

Nani to have a good game and prompt a hundred 'he's better on the right' posts afterwards.

peno, let buttsex take it...just for a laugh.
