Manchester United vs Wolverhampton FC

Good first half from our point of view. Defending fairly solidly throughout, midfield in complete control and attack working well.

Carrick has been immense in midfield, but it's really Rooney, Nani and to a lesser extent Welbeck that have sorted us out up top. For the last while, with Nani and Rooney off form, we've struggled at the top end of the pitch so you really can see the difference when they're doing well.

Welbeck's movement is quality too - I'm beginning to prefer him to Hernandez up front as he poses defenders so many problems that he almost occupies the two central defenders on his own, leaving Rooney all the time and space in the world, which in turn draws defenders in and creates space and opportunities for the two wingers.

Good stuff so far, and nice to go into a second half with a little bit of pressure off.

very good performances we look hungry for the goals and we deal with everything well wolves throw at us.

GOAL! Bolton 0-1 Aston Villa - Emile Heskey! No, not really - it's Marc Albrighton.

Where from did the ref find 1 min added time?

Two goals and a sub. Or are you suggesting it should've been more?

Welbeck's makes me  His movement is fantastic and he has a good eye for play on top of that. Going to be a top player.

Rooney scoring feels so good.

He is back and we are playing well.

Just a shame he has to go on those long barren spells for a couple of months every season.

I guess it's come to the point now that he's never going to change, we just have to accept it.

We're doing well although Wolves is not really threatening us much. Wish we would have played with that active attitude against Basel

Jones, btw, is just not a midfielder

It's been such a positive half from us. Rooney, Nani, Carrick, Welbeck, Smalling and Nani all been very good. Only disappointment for me was Valencia who still looks like he can't take his man on..

Yeah, it was ages ago last time in the PL.Hopefully he'll be on fire from now on, we'll need him to be

He is playing where he is most effective.

...and he is not getting frustrated and going back to fetch the ball...

but then this is Wolves.

still we have played well in the last few Prem matches without putting chances away.

...I said this. we will refocus on the title.

Wolves are relegation fodder but we have been clinical. Nani, Rooney and Welbeck have linked up well and Jones is covering every blade.

Good half. Wolves playing so open(and shit) does help as well.

When we play bad against a bad team, that's because our team is average.

When we play good against a bad team, that's because they're shit.

still need to keep an closed eye on Matt Jarvis, he beaten Smalling for pace a couple of times down the flank.

Look very solid with Carrick and Jones in midfield. Maybe that's the secret to dealing without Vidic.

Welbeck has been really good, offering loads in build up play. A few ranging passes out to the wings as well. Very encouraging.

It's been decent football from us, except for the time when Roooney tried to chip while Hennessey was like 2 yards out.

Carrick has been pretty good.

Valencia's been good, stretched the play well, helped his full-back too. Final product has been a bit eh, but he's getting better with each game, peach of cross for the Carrick header too.

Anyone else watching on the linkabstract stream? I'm hoping it's just down for half-time :nervous:

The way I see it it's a good thing that it is Wolves and they're shit. The players need to build some sort of confidence, I really wish they do their best to trash them.
I don't think Rooney's past performances had anything to do with him being played as a CM for a few games.I mean he started decreasing in terms of performances before that period. He's a streaky player and at times it is frustrating.

I have said this elsewhere.

His not scoring has been how the team has been playing especially the midfield.

Rooney if he does not get the service...goes back to fetch the ball.

Fergie probably has lost count of how many times he must have told him to stay up.

Today he was so happy getting the passes....and making the passes..

His confidence is back.

most importantly we look so lethal when he is up there going at their defence.

Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying. You really are clever.

Maintain that possession in the second half. They have some tired legs now, lets keep them chasing because they are putting no pressure on us until we get to their box. A clean sheet would be refreshing to see.

Valencia's been good, stretched the play well, helped his full-back too. Final product has been a bit eh, but he's getting better with each game, peach of cross for the Carrick header too.

My main problem with Valencia recently has been his reluctance to release the ball early to allow a striker a chance in on the keeper. Well on top of my other criticisms that is.

2 good goals from our 2 best players. Let's hope they get consistency from it, we need them to!

I do think that Smalling is the best youngster in our squad. Even when playing at RB, he just seems so extremely composed and focused.
