Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Some big positives.

- The link-up play on either wing between Evra & Obertan, and De Laet & Valencia has been very good.

- Gibson's corners have caused alot of problems, including the penalty and the 2nd goal.

- Rooney is becoming a reliable spot kick taker for us.

As I said before we scored, we keep coming out with all the intensity. We did it today, and vs Villa and as soon as they manage to string a move together in our half, we seemingly don't know how to react. Maybe unconfidence.

I agree, they've been better than they usually are atleast.

I always find it wierd we have Rooney taking them.

It is. But ideally we'd want Gibson on the edge of the box waiting to hit any ball that breaks free.

Valencia, being a winger, should be able to take them decently... And that way he'd at least get plenty of practice on his crossing.

we can play better though, happy with the 2 goals but still not the performances....

Yeah, Berba's not really been in it, he even dribbled the ball out of play at one point!

Both our wide men need to get involved more. Obertan could have squared it at the ed after that moment of brilliance but I'm sure he saw the headlines! Can't blame him.

Positives :

Rooneys Movement
Obertan and Evras left wing domination.
Gibsons corners
De Laets speed and strength
Vidic looking dominant again

Things to improve on:

Rooneys finishing
Getting Berba into goal scoring positions
Calming Valencia down, twice he has tried to tackle, and kicked the ball 40 yards back down the pitch to their player.
Dispatch from defence.

Its 2-0, realistically it should be around 4. Obertan needs his first goal to calm him down, and look for the pass instead of the shot. He is looking good though, even though with a couple of dodgy stepovers!

I dont think I have ever seen a more athletic left back than Evra, breathtaking.

They've all been pretty average. Only really Rooney who's up for it.
Valencia hasn't really been able to run at players, Obertan has done his best Nani impression and Scholes/Gibson lacks creativity and has lost the ball too easily.

Still, 2-0, great.

Does it not worry anyone else that with basically our strongest frontline (apart from Obertan playing instead of Giggs) we have created 1 notible chance from open play against a second string Wolves XI?

It worries me deeply.

No one has stood out except Scholes and De leat making some surging runs but 2-0 is more than comfortable and we need to get 3 or 4 more. Please :)

Rooney looks a class above everyone else on the pitch. Pleased with the score, Berbatov has been anonymous though. That's a bit of a worry considering Wolves are probably as shit as it gets.
Obertan should've passed the ball just before half-time...

Nah..
Wolves been decent, packing their half. We have hurried it a bit to much, no big deal. 2-0.

heskey in mad goal scoring form
what is it now .. 3 in 5 games ?

Both Gibson and Scholes are lying pretty deep though. It's not that hard for 4-5 players to control Berba and Rooney, magnificent though they may be. We need some more movement from the midfield, and press up more. And Valencia needs to start being Valencia again, instead of Kieran Richardson.

I want some Berba-magic in the second half!

Well I dunno about you guys but my stream has a charming Turkish gentleman to see me through the game.

I can't hold back my smile when "Deh Layeh" (Da Laet) gets the ball. That or "Mikael Careeq" (Michael Carrick). Either way, I now understand the Caf's obsession with the names of football players. Deh Layeh is possibly the best name I've ever heard on a pitch.

My stream has turned to the Villa Sunderland game, hoping it changes back in five minutes or i'll be annoyed.

Mine too.

Would not be amused, but at least 2 of us scroungers for streams will find one quicker.

Obertan clearly has a future in our first team. He's still excitedly raw, but looks to have incredible potential.

I think we can afford to give Rooney a rest now. Owen can do the job and we will need Rooney for Fulham

have to say , we have been helped by the wolves team selection.
maybe we wouldve been more focussed and scored a few more .. but performance, as it has been so far , glad its their second string .. dont want any more nervy matches

clearly mick wants welbeck on loan and has made a deal with fergie

Couldn't have put it better actually.

Scarily exciting, but obviously raw.

Yes it worries me too.

Good scoreline shite performance so far.

I hope to see Obertan get 90 Mins, he has looked very good at times. I want to see Valencia go on some of his runs.

I'd like him to get a goal from open play again, though. Get him fired up and ready for the Christmas fixtures. This would be prime time for one of Rooneys goalscoring runs

De leat has showed good intent bombing forward at every opportunity.

Hardly tested at the back mind but he's done what he's had too.

Villa third as it stands. Will they enjoy a massive collapse this season as well?
