Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

I quite like games like this. Comfortable win without having to do too much. It's not a game we'll be talking about at the end of the season but it's good for the nerves to have games like this now and again.

happy with that. Job done. Happy with the progres made by Valencia and Gibson. Just a shame Berbatov could not scote and get his confidence going again.

Still, plenty of games coming up, if we can get to february without losing another match, we will be top of the table.

Yeah, not good at all, but win's a win.Think last 20 mins should have been seen as opportunity to get some more goals, but Welback in particular was poor. So many good positions break down when he gets the ball. He's so gifted, it'll help when he becomes more intelligent football-wise.
We had better play better at Fulham on Saturday.

3 Points.

Game summary..

Meh.. Penalty.. Meh.. Vidic... Meeeeh .. Oh goodness gracious me, Berbatov that was insane.. meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

Very flat game. None of our strikers look a threat. Neither did the wingers - beat their man but missing the final pass. Poor decision making and get in each others' way more often than not. Nothing in this game that provides any assurance that we can go on a run.

A good result to get us back on track. This game was exactly what we needed and the players did a professional job. The performance was nowhere near our best but at this stage of the season its the points that matter.

Well done.

some of you are really spoilt
3-0 is great on most occasions

it being not the best performance dampens it a bit
its still a good result

makeshift backline
no drive in midfield (scholes and gibson are hardly the most mobile)
obertan/welbeck on one wing

its not like we went in with our best team and didnt perform well

no injuries , 3 goals , 3 points , a good performance wouldve made it better , but its still been a good night

WTF??:wenger:

We won ... and welbeck played for the last 15 mins in a side who were playing out time.

I thought we done some good stuff at times without threatening the goal.

I just think its too akward when Gibson and Scholes play deep, it leaves us with only 4 attacking players who are all marked. If you have someone running from deep, INTO THE BOX, it makes a massive difference. This is where Fergie needs to buy. Or play Tosic in this role.

We still won 3-0, happy days.

I thought Gibson began making more runs forward in the second half, he looks quite powerful when he does and he should do it more often, especially if partnered with Scholes.

I'm happy with the win. I'm trying to point out that Welback is a bit of an air-head at the moment. How can you say he played well last 15 mins when he spurned so many opportunities given the space he had down our left?

Arguably our 5th and 6th choice central midfielders (being very generous to the Scholes of this season, you could say 3rd and 6th).

How many other teams could cope that well with a central midfield pairing consisting of two players that far down the pecking order?

Until we sort out all these feckING defensive injuries, anyone who is expecting us to blow teams away has another think coming. Which means December is gonna be one long whinge.

Space he usually created for himself.

Welbeck had a good game.

Doesn't quite seem to have the first touch to be able to make the correct passes and keep the ball well enough in them tight spaces in between the opposition midfield and defense, it may develop. Reminds me a little of Lampard.

Do you think the forward players need to step it up to compensate for weaknesses at the back? For example, with Rooney looking very ordinary the last two games, one would expect Berbatov to show what Fergie obviously think's he's worth.

I dream of Tosic playing the role. Hes tiny, but his touch and vision, perfect for creating chances in tight areas, along with his shots with his neat left foot.

Who really cares about 'he would get dominated in the PL playing in the middle of midfield'. It wont happen against Wolves.

Fergie will NEVER do it though, but he may sign Modric...

Err, just noted Rooney didn't pass Berba once during the second half.

It was worse against Villa. 61%.

Rooney's always been likes this though, he always tries these very difficult risky passes that don't always come off. So his completion rate is always quite poor, yet he can come up with a wonderful and key pass. He's like Giggs in this respect.

"No drive in midfield." That drives me mad when people say that. One of our most successful and most enjoyable to watch midfield pairs in recent seasons has been Scholes and Carrick, who both apparently lack "drive."

BTW Obertan was awful too today. Him, Berba & Rooney looked as if they were coming from different planets.

Time to invent a new Caftard rumour in Mirror Football...

"Abel Xavier is available on a free."

Say it ain't so! Couldn't even hack it in America...

Wouldn't mind a rumor of Stam coming out of retirement  Him and Vidic would make an awesome pairing.

Err, just noted Rooney didn't pass Berba once during the second half.

We were saying this at the game yesterday. They play like strangers on the pitch. There isn't even a semblance of link-up between them. Worrying.
