Old Trafford, Manchester
Saturday 06th November 2010
KO - 15:00 GMT

I think 5th yellow gives you a suspension in 7 days time so shouldn't matter, but it would be 3 games in a week so might as well have him on the bench.

Id leave Nani for the derby, apparently a groin injury that he could be back for saturday but i wouldnt risk it, Scholes is also on 4 bookings so a yellow on saturday and he misses the derby i think so i wouldnt start him either.

Vds

Rafael
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Park
Carrick
Anderson/Fletcher
Obertan

Hernandez
Berbatov

I'd go with that too. Play Anderson alongside Carrick.

Fletcher and Scholes on the bench, along with Nani (if fit) and Bebe.

3-0.

What price another Mick McCarthy masterpiece? Tea lady in goal, Elokobi in defence, the kit man in midfield, and minime Kevin Doyle on his own up top :smirk:

After a long trip and a sorta high tempo pressured match today, coupled with City away next wednesday to come, I think Fergie will rest the more important players. I think it will be again a team similar to team form the rangers home game.

I think it will be:

...........................Kuszcak.........................
Neville.....Oshea......Brown.......Fabio
Obertan...Gibson...Anderson...Bebe
.........Macheda.......????...............

Must say im slightly concerned about this one, given our injury's i can see this being a very frustrating afternoon, if Nani is out then i think we might struggle for large spells to open wolves up, can see another West Brom if the injury's continue to rape us of our best attacking options.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Rafael
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Obertan
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Park

CF: Berbatov
CF: Hernandez

Subs: PIG, Smalling, O'Shea, Neville, Gibson, Bebe, Macheda

3-0 Berbatov & Hernandez x2

I'd go with this too, only I'd have Anderson in place of Gibson on the bench.

This is what I like to see and if we can get the job done early get Rio, Carrick and Evra off.

vs Wolves: van der Sar, Brown, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Obertan, Carrick, Fletcher, Park, Berbatov, Hernandez.

SUBS: Kuszczak, Neville, O'Shea, Anderson, Scholes, Nani, Macheda.

to allow for something like:

vs Man City: van der Sar, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, Nani, Berbatov, Hernandez.

SUBS: Kuszczak, Brown, Smalling, Anderson, Park, Giggs, Macheda.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Berbatov, Scholes rested, maybe no Fletcher or Nani considering the injury.

Carrick and O'Shea perhaps if Ando or Gibbo don't recover ... should be decent enough for Wolves.

wolves did give us a tough match when we play them in the carling cup, its by no means a walkover plus with nani and fletcher almost out of the match, we shouldn't be resting more players.

Scholes might recover, Carrick has played quite a few games, but Berbatov has usually been rested after European forrays on his own even when it's a Tuesday.

There will be one eye on the City game here, it wouldn't surprise me if senior squad players like Brown, O'Shea, Evans or Neville come in, Hernandez will almost certainly.

Well considering Fergies now said both Nani and Fletcher are out as well as Anderson apart from being a bit fecked i suppose the best line up we can go with whats left is.

Van Der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Park Carrick Scholes Obertan
Berbatov Hernandez

Should be good enough at home to see off Wolves but hardly ideal seeing as we want Scholes fit and fresh for the derby and playing him here would mean 3 games in 8 days, but then its either that or Darron Gibson in a 2 man midfield and im not sure my heart can take watching another episode of cannonballz.......

God knows what the bench is going to look like with all the injured players.

If that team plays and Gibbo or Giggs doesn't get fit.

Kuszczak, Brown, Smalling, G. Neville, J. Evans, O'Shea, Bébé

Are Neville and Evans fit for this game?

On top of the three changes he's bound to make (Ferdinand for Smalling, Park for Nani, Hernandez for Fletcher), I do see another one or two being made.

Can we just win and not get any more injurys? thats all i want, not to much to ask is it? oh and for the entire manchester City squad to come down with a sever bout of metatarsal injurys.......only messin.

Well if Scholes gets booked thats a suspension for the City or Villa game, so one of the Irish players may have to play alongside Carrick ... if not both.

Come to think about it, use significant part of transfer budget to fund Dr. Leo James research into intracellular immunity, we could get the sick people back in no time. :D

The fact that we play City after this best not to risk anybody who might not be fully fit. I still think without Nani and Fletcher we should win.

No a chance we will go with such a weak team. Obviously there will be changes but not so extreme as that. That teams looks like suicide to me.

Tough game ahead on Saturday after the way Wolves have played in the last few games. Jarvis will be the key player for Wolves as he has produced several top notch performances this season for them.

But I reckon we have enough quality in the locker to see this game out

2-0 I reckon

i'd go with that. evra could do with a rest and that team should be good enough to do the business. wouldnt surprise me to see macheda start above berbatov though due to the derby.

I'd start Bebe in Nani's absence. He gave Elokobi a tough ride on the Carling Cup.

Hope Carrick can get going now. I think he looked like he had regained some of his class against Bursa. He looked like he finally got his confidence in his own passing game back. Looked like a happier Carrick.
*touch wood*

Of Gibson and Anderson, SAF made it sound like Gibson was more likely to be the one fit for the game (both have a virus).

Based on news so far I'd say

VDS
Rafael, Rio, Vida, Evra
Obertan, Carrick, Gibson, Park
Berba, Chicha

Bench: TK, O'Shea, Smalling, Bebe, Macheda, Scholes, Fabio

Edit: Also option is to play O'Shea or Fabio at left back and push Evra up like we did a couple weeks ago.

it'll be tough
they gave chelsea and us a tough game and beat city .. all playing good football

the carling cup game had 7 changes for them too ..
i hope we dont rest too many players for city
one game at a time

No a chance we will go with such a weak team. Obviously there will be changes but not so extreme as that. That teams looks like suicide to me.

Even if United did make wholesale changes they could still play a team with 10 international players and Bébé, it's hardly suicide. United played with De Laet and Carrick in defence last season for a long part, Wes and O'Shea there would be a massive improvement from that.

Players allegedly available:
van der Sar, Kuszczak, Amos
Neville, Evra, Ferdinand, Brown, Smalling, Vidic, Fabio, Rafael, O'Shea
Park, Carrick, Scholes, Obertan, Gibson, Bebe
Berbatov, Hernandez

Players allegedly unavailable:
J Evans
Hargreaves, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Fletcher, Valencia
Owen, Rooney, Macheda

That's one hell of an injury list! (although it would surprise me if a couple of those unavailable there made a recovery for the weekend; often happens).

Would have been good to be able to rest players ahead of the Derby on the 10th, I think.

Looks like it might be:

VDS - O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra - Obertan, Gibson, Carrick, Bebe - Berbatov, Hernandez

Did you not watch the Rangers game

Do we think that 2 weeks away that Fergie initially told us what 3 years ago will finally mean nothing and we'll get a return? :wenger: We can hope, that his trip to the phsyio's worked wonders on that calf strain. It would be handy right now with the injuries for him to pop up from no where and be available.
