You mean apart from 50% of all our goals?
Yeah the target man that everything went through and has the biggest missed chances in the league. That guy that has hindered everyone else and taken 120+ shots from stupid positions where as the other two wide players have taken 40 shots most from outside of the are because Zlatan occupies the centre. That guy that, that hindered the team because he wouldn't run the channels and was invisible in most games.

If Zlatan hindered United so much, we would have come to life as a team as soon as he dropped out of the side. Barring the Chelsea game, that didn't really happen. He has missed 6 league games since his injury, and we have won only 1 of those, scoring only 4 goals, 1 being a penalty.

He has been directly involved in 38 goals (28 goals, 10 assists) in 46 games.

Not a hindrance.

How Herrera celebrated his Sir Matt Busby award
At an Altrincham takeaway. He really is becoming an adopted Mancunian.

Actually impressed they went for Herrera. He was the deserved winner but I was convinced the muppet faction would have seen Zlatan who apart from goals has been poor won the award. Faith in humanity restored a little.

I can see your point about Zlatan but I still have to disagree that a vote for Zlatan is 'muppetry'. Yes he has missed a hatful of chances in most of our games, yes he looks sluggish and always takes the most difficult option but he has scored 50% of our goals and holds the ball up better than any of our other forwards

I can only really remember Herrera having a memorably good game against Chelsea at home. I can point to plenty of games where Zlatan had a memorably good game. That is what this award should be about really, who's performances across the entirety of the season have been most influential

Glad it went to Herrera. He had my vote. Contributed a lot, and showed leadership qualities throught the season, im expecting him to improve again next year.

'Muppetry' might have been a strong word but I had just woken up at the time.

Arguably I'd say his hold up play has been atrocious, I'm sure last time I checked he'd lost the ball more than anyone in the squad. His passing as also been poor so it's hard to really say he has deserved it especially the way I look at it he has had 3-4 good games and funnily enough he didn't score in 3 of those. Obviously everyone expects different things and judge players differently. In my view he has been a big part of our problem this year and a reason why the others haven't scored as much as they should have.

Also it's player of the year and Herrera has been probably put in the best performances whilst being more consistent. There were so many games where Zlatan was useless then in the 86th minute got a goal. Those goals don't really correct his performance for me especially when everything was built around him.

Tell me, how was our attacking play last season before he arrived? How many goals did our top scorer get last season?

You mean the 20 yr old that played in a team that wasn't as creative and didn't have Pogba or the Bundesliga player of the year. Yeah great comparison. Wasn't it 17 goals by the way. Our attacking play was arguably of a better standard than this year. The only difference being this season more licence to take risky opertunities.

And how many did our top scorer get the year before that? And the year before that? When did we last score over 100 goals in a season or a striker getting nearly 30 goals? You're talking shite.

Go look at the stats in La Liga how many shots Ronaldo takes if you think that is the be all and end all.

That had better be a 'healthy' takeaway! Need him nice and fit for the finals. No burgers allowed Ander:D

Yeah, it was Ibra's fault. After his injury we started playing amazing attacking football and other guys like Martial and Rashford started scoring for fun.

No offence but your not even talking as you can't make a single point to defend your point of view bar the ignorant 'oh he has scored 17 goals!!"
When you can put together a reasonable post of why you think he has been amazing then I'll be impressed. With most when you talk about this subject the replies you get are moronic at best.

Context, mate.

You have to take in to consideration that in front of goal this season we have been nothing short of abysmal, to put it lightly, and without Ibra's contribution in front of goal it would have been a far sight worse. Overal, all competitions included, he has scored a total of 28 goals in 41 appearances. 17 goals in 27 league games, 1 in the FA cup (as sub no less), 4 goals in 4 League cup games (2 as sub) and 6 goals in 10 Europa games (2 as sub). That is genuine consistency on all fronts, don't see how you can possibly argue against it. Sure he has missed a hatful of chances but he isn't even close to being alone in that regard, Rooney, Martial, Rashford, Pogba and Lingard have been equally poor in front of goal.

I'm happy that Herrera has won the award, as I believe he is the type of guy who will really appreciate it, but in truth he was my third choice behind Valencia and Zlatan. Valencia, though still lacking that cutting edge from an attacking perspective, has been a measure of consistency from day one and an ever-present in a defense constantly plagued by injury. When all is said and done, though, goals win games and Zlatan has contributed more than any striker at the club since RVP, doesn't he deserve a modicum of your appreciation for that alone? He had every right to claim the award, just as much as Valencia and the eventual winner Herrera in that regard.

That's a great video but what does the Tweet mean? Aren't mascots the kids who walk out with the team before kickoff? Why would Pogba have to put in a huge amount of money for that?

A lot of clubs charge for mascot packages. I read somewhere that with Newcastle United’s hospitality packages, they charge around £4,000 for their hospitality packages including mascot places.

I'm not sure why it says "huge amount of money" though, shouldn't be that much for a footballer.

Ah that sort of makes sense. Still sounds weird to me. You'd think the club would be fine with making him a mascot for the day without having one of its own players paying for it.

He won't do what LVG did and given a drunken speech :)

Watched it again yesterday on Youtube and thought: " Hell how bad things have gone the next season is unbelievable ". Anyone who watched this speech will believe LvG got any plans for the team to be better, instead he fecked everything up in summer.

Pleasantly surprised Herrera won it. He had my vote but I expected Zlatan to get it going by the Caf. Well deserved Ander

Thanks.

Yup, Mkhi's Scorpion won the goal of the season.

Collecting the accolade at Thursday’s end-of-season awards ceremony at Old Trafford, the 28-year-old said: "To be honest, I was impressed as well. I just realised when I went home and watched it again."

Crediting the player who provided the assist for his award-winning goal, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Armenian quipped: "I couldn't miss this great opportunity because I received a great ball from the god!"

Daves head gesture at 0.42 - "Man Utd players can never stop" and Dave's like, they can mate, I'm off to Madrid.
What do the 2034 other body language experts who've recently started frequenting the Caf make of this analysis?
