I've cooled off a bit, still really pissed off about the Herrara mess and general farcical way we went about this transfer window, but I own up to being overly harsh on Fellaini, I really don't rate him very much and never have, but best of luck to him at United.

It's not an incomplete pass. It's when a player loses possession of the ball through a bad touch. Very subjective statistic, wouldn't read much into it.

Apparently Lewandowski lost the ball the most through "bad touches" last season in the whole of Europe.

I do not personally ever remember him being useless with his first touch - so that shows you how stats can really be pointless.

Some guy just posted this on an United FB page. How reliable they are, I have no idea..But at the end of the day they are just stats...

Some stats about Fellaini:
- Fellaini scored 11 PL goals last season, only one Man Utd midfielder (Kagawa, 6), scored more than two.
- No midfielder in Man United's entire squad won more tackles than Marouane Fellaini last term (60). Michael Carrick his nearest rival on 58.
- He scored 5 headed goals last season, the same amount as Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez & Danny Welbeck combined.
- Fellaini won 151 headers last season, more than the 11 midfield players that featured in Manchester United’s whole squad (93).

It's all stolen from another article posted a few pages back.

I've no problem with anybody that doesn't rate a player we sign, but I get the feeling that a lot of people have just gone with the flow in regards to Herrara. In fact, I'd bet that a very large portion of people pissed off at us not signing Herrara for 30 odd million, have never seen him play a single match.

It also helps when a load of people who have seen him play (some of which don't know what they're talking about, some of which do) say he's a quality talent.

Some very poor interpretations of statistics going on here. To point out just one: Fellani did have the highest amount of 'turnovers' per game in the Premier League last year. Consider that he was playing in a position that was new to him and in the area of the pitch where 'turnovers' are most common. Suarez, Ba and Benteke made up the rest of the top 4 for the highest amount of turnovers per game last season.

Most crucially, in the season previous season when Fellani was playing in his preferred position and hopefully the position that Moyes will employ him in: he was 124th in the Premier League for turnovers. Michael Carrick was 123rd.

I've been like that all summer. I was properly deflated when Moyes took over, but then felt better once I'd slept on it, and looked at the long term picture. Then I've been wound up over transfer sagas, and really didnt want Fellaini, but now the dust is settling I think it will work out okay.

Is Moyes hypnotizing us with those big eyes "It - will - be - okay - must - support - David - Moyes" ?!?

I've always thought he'd do well, and now it turns out we haven't gone above his release clause then I'm as happy as I can be about his signing. He'll kill Yaya Toure in a few weeks time.

Maybe I'm understanding it wrong, but I can't see how a player waivering their loyalty bonus means anything about the fee we pay. All it means to my mind is that Everton don't have to pay the player anything, so can pocket the full transfer fee they mean - so we still pay £27.5m

Atleast for once we won't have Toure steaming through our midfield untouched. Fellaini will deck the wanker

Or we pay 23.5m. Fellani forfeits his 4m bonuses that are due from Everton so the deal is worth 27.5m to them. We still only pay 23.5m. Fellani is now on 125k a week and everyone is happy. Everton release the 27.5m fee as great PR for them.

I don't think the word 'steaming' and 'Gibson and Barry' have or will ever be used together...

I assume this is the case. Otherwise, Everton would efferctively have been asking for £27.5 million plus the £4m for Fellaini on top - which I doubt. The explanation above makes sense.

Yes that makes more sense to me now - though it makes me wonder why we've announced it as an 'undisclosed fee' - probably to not piss Everton off further?

Perfect buy for us I reckon, we have tons of creativity in the team. We needed some steel in there.

Is he really on 125k a week? How do we know this?

If so, that's a crazy sum. I'm pretty sure if we triggered his release clause early, and took out time to negotiate his wages, we wouldn't need to pay close to that amount.

feck that!

If he wanted to keep that hair then he should have signed with a Mcdonalds outlet and not Manchester United. Both the homeless guy and Van Gouw had to cut their hair to look presentable.

 Turns out we can't bitch about the fee, let's move on to the wages.

I don't think he'd look as physically imposing without his afro - discuss.

Fully agreed. That afro has a 'don't come near me or you're going to get served motherfecker' vibe about it. He'd not be half as intimidating without it.

... Now, that just makes him sound like he's some sort of street dance-troupe.

Actually, I could definitely see that.
