Moyes went against Fergie advice in not keeping his backroom staff. He went into a panic buy to get Fellaini. Ontop he makes weird idiot substitutions.

I am hoping he is only here for one year. He isn't good enough and never will be.

Sadly at this rate I can't disagree. Not because Fellaini isn't obviously better than those two players but because for the money we spent on Fellaini we could've got a proper, top class number 8. Monaco, after all, signed Moutinho for £20 million in the summer.

We would have had to pay even more for a better 8.

Afraid, this sums it up. I'd love for him to get time, but he has to show something. It's been dire.

Fergie's advice? It was Fergie's advice that we sign Moyes so make up your fecking mind you RAWK prick.

Wanyama? You mean the lad who can't pass the ball more than 5 yards?

That sums up Fellaini too tbh. And at least Wanyama has some balls and wins the odd tackle.

Fellaini is pathetic.

He jogs and lets runners past him with ease. Whilst he is in jogging mode.

I hope nobody cites Veron as a failure given what we are seeing from Fellaini. Veron didn't fit into how Fergie wanted to play and had the likes of Keane and Scholes competing for central midfield. Fellaini has Cleverley to contend with, and for me I can't wait for Cleverley to return.

Thing is, all these fecking stupid pundits say they want to see Fellaini further up the field - pray tell, what the feck position would he play in?

£27.5m...

Funny how we spent 30 mil on him when he wouldn't even get into Southampton's team at the moment. Up there with Andy Carroll at 35 mil as the worst transfers ever.

He always ends up behind the player he's supposed to be marking, often resulting in a foul. Really poor reading of the game in my opinion. I hoped his physicality would at least bring us something in the middle; hasn't happened yet.

Why are ye surprised? Every flaw he has shown so far was evident while he was at Everton.

For what it's worth, I think Fellaini is being made a bit of a scapegoat for problems that have been building up over the last several seasons.

 Only slightly knee jerk.

Saying he's not lived up to expectations so far is a reasonable assessment but to dub him at this point one of the worst transfers ever is laughable. It's so retarded I don't even know why I'm dignifying it with a response.

He worries me. It's still early days but the Premier League is supposed to be his level and he's currently looking below it. In that defensive midfield role he's seriously lacking in some speed. They are simply outrunning him or bypassing him with the ball. Where's the presence we expected him to provide? A bit of pressure on him and he's making basic errors constantly. It's leaving our defence over exposed. It's up to him to prove he's got class because he wouldn't deserve a starting spot at this rate.

It's like there is a running joke that started with Fergie and has carried on with Moyes.

"How can we find the worst partner possible to troll Michael Carrick."

First there was the likes of Park, then the semi-retired Giggs and Scholes and now possibly the most immobile Footballer alive.

It's like they want him to play the game on ultra hard difficulty, why not just put a ball and chain around his ankle?

The defensive side of his game is just atrocious. Carrick did the bulk of the defending today.

Veron was so much better than Fellaini that I could cry. If we had the Veron of a decade or so ago we would have danced all over Southampton. Veron never played all that bad for Man Utd he just never played as well as we had hoped. However, he could trap a ball, pass it beautifully, take a superb free kick and given time and space would destroy a team. Even in time and space Fellaini manages to mess up his first touch.

We would have had to pay even more for a better 8.

Joao Moutinho >>>> Fellaini.

Joao Moutinho bought by Monaco for £20 million. Fellaini bought by Man Utd for £27.5 million. Que mal!

Simply because Moyes thought he is the correct solution to the problem

I'm getting angry just thinking about him now.

Can we have a refund please?

The feck do we do with him now?

We don't have a great deal of choice but to continue playing him in midfield - even if he doesn't improve (and hopefully he will) we just simply don't have any other options there. With Cleverley injured, then it's either Anderson for 70 minutes, or players out of position.

As ever, if Carrick went down... :nervous:

Yeah I agree Veron was an incredible player comparing him to Fellaini is laughable, I remember some of his champions league games were unreal, if we had Veron now he would be our best CM easy.

What makes it worse is that Moyes thought he was United class when it was clearly obvious he isn't.

For people who are saying we should give him time to settle is simply BS, he is an experienced premier league and international player and shouldn't need time and also he isn't a young kid from abroad.

Did we really pay £27.5m for him???

I don't really understand all those reactions to his match today, you'd think I've entered 'Why can't we put more than 1 goal past SOTON' thread.

Far away from being our best player, you can easily say that he's miles off Carrick and you'll be right, but fecking hell, claiming that Wanyama was better? Fellaini our worst player today ? I know it doesn't prove anything, but pretty much as soon as we've changed him for Giggs ( which cannot be rationally explained ) we've completly lost the midfield, it was a typical Carrick-Giggs partnership even when Jones was moved behind those two. His passing has been sloppy again today at times but I would be far away from claiming that he's been our worst player today. Second time this year ( I can't remember against who it was though ) when we're subbing him, we're losing the midfield absolutely.

Also at this rate Scholes will be asked to come out of retirement for the second time!!

Not basing it off what I've seen for United though. He was never in a million years worth even 20 mil, let alone 30. It was blatantly obvious for anyone who has seen him before that he was never suited for United's style. Look at my posts in this thread before but since day 1 I was saying I hope we don't sign him because he isn't any better then Cleverley in the position we wanted him for. People slated me for saying he won't necessarily add steel to our midfield either, because he just isn't a very good tackler, he just fouls a lot.

There is just some players who cant play in a certain system, Fellaini is one of them, he is a player that needs two work horses behind him cleaning up after his lack of pace, Lets just hope Moyes sees sense and buys the likes of Herrera in January and doesnt persist because of the price tag and relationship he has with him

Lets do a Rafa and sell him back to Everton for £15m and accept we fecked up and move on.
