The diagonals from the free kicks into the box have caused problems, and Fellaini hasn't even been challenging. He has stood off and let them win the first ball at least twice.

His lack of tempo makes him a liability in any high intensity match. He's too slow to get around, so he's often taken out of the match and/or deemed to foul people.

Yeah I've seen that, I think he's worried about giving a penalty away because he's been pulled up for challenges which were never fouls

I know. The one thing you think he will add to the team he can't even do. He's lost every header, well technically you can't lose something if you don't challenge for it.

Easy target gets stick. Hm.

He started well and hasn't really put a foot wrong, aside from missing an easy defensive header.

At least he isn't hiding like his pathetic - today - excuse of a midfield partner.

Exactly. Cleverley has been far worse.

Decent in possession but defensively has been woeful. I can't understand how he doesn't win those headers when they put in those freekicks into our box. He didn't even jump for one of them. Needs to improve but this is probably his best game so far in a United shirt.

He's struggling to impose himself as a Man Utd player, I still think he's a lot better than this.

He looks like a player who's had the direction taken out of his style of play and is currently undergoing sessions to put a new direction there. In other words he looks like a player who's game is being reshaped and so even there areas he previously excelled in he is now uncertain about. He'll take a lot more patience than some are showing.

That's a fair point, but he cost a lot of money and he's 25/26 years old. In that situation you're looking for a player who can come in, and make a difference immediately.

I'm afraid he might get sent off

I think he is as well. Looked a bit passive after being warned by the ref. Not been really poor so far but with him and Cleverley the defence has very little protection, as we saw with the Cardiff goal.

Nothing is said about Cleverley, while Fellaini is getting stick? People see what they want to see. Cleverley and Januzaj are far worse today.

That's between Moyes and Woodward for failing to sign another CM alongside him which would allowed more time for him to settles as a bit part player also for paying that much. The age isn't a big issue as I'd expect him to be closer to where I think we want him to be by about feb next year. Its also partly a confidence thing as it will probably be a case of him committing whole heartedly to what he's being asked to do.

He's been okay. Still doesn't seem to fit into our team naturally, though playing beside a particularly poor Cleverley hasn't helped him today.

I can't be bothered to check, but am I right thinking we've only won one game that he has started?

The way he got dispossessed there in the last minute was just really sad. To see a player of his physical stature lose the ball to the Cardiff player isn't really going to up his confidence.

It wasn't his worst performance for us, but I think that about sums it up - what we saw today was his level. Not good enough, and never will be.

Bench him, and only use him as a plan B behind the striker for controlling long balls. Shit signing so far.

I was just about to post this. Happened a lot on the long balls in open-play as well. I thought he was supposed to be good in the air at least, but so far he hasn't even shown that.

He seriously needs to up his game. It's not even about getting used to the team - he can't even do the simple stuff (like challenging for headers).
