Marouane Fellaini | 2013/14 Performances

For all the ridiculous scapegoating from the usual suspects, we're really going to miss him against Leverkusen.

We're only going to miss him because Jones and Carrick are injured, Fellaini being a better option than Anderson doesn't exactly justify his signing, and to be perfectly honest if we're judging Fellaini on what he's shown for us so far then it's even debatable saying he's better than Anderson, because quite frankly he's been awful.

And yet he's probably passed the ball forward more times in two games than Fellaini has all season.

Cleverley is also younger than him and has started less in the league, while Fellaini has been a starter for a few years now.

And he isn't as well doing half of the defensive job Fellaini is doing.

Stop talking out of your ass, people expect Fellaini to be our top defensive midfielder, top passer and on top score fecking goals. Ridiculous to say the least.

But I guess the posters saying Anderson is better will have their day...
Going by his performances so far we won't miss him at all.

Not really but Fellaini doesn't specialise in one thing. There are many midfielders in the league that can do what he's doing for us currently. Cleverley and Fellaini are both not good enough to be regulars at United. Just two squad players.

Yeah well I'm not even defending Fellaini. I think both of them are not good enough for us so hey ho.

But when he's playing on us, bar probably one or two matches, he is on the defensive duties. No, this doesn't mean that he's forbidden to make some decent passes or to attack the opposite goal but he should be mostly judged on the defensive part of his game, and he's done good in that area today.

As said, we've needed more than that into our midfield, we needed a passer or a decent box to box midfielder, we've got Fellaini and now people are expecting him to execute every single role there is for a midfielder.

Yeah, Cleverley should foul everyone 58 times a game to prove how much of a defensive job he's doing.

Just admit it, Fellaini's fecking ass. Most of it knew it before we signed him. This club is too big for him.

The only thing we're gonna miss is the possibility to have another CM on the bench and some tactical substitutions to be made. Other than that ...
Yup. Can't see how well miss a guy who let's games pass him by and looks laborious in everything he does. If he was playing as well as I thought bee would for us, then yes we'd miss him. But right now, feck no.

Are you implying that you wont support Anderson if he plays for us on wednesday?

You misunderstand. The poster in question has stated that Anderson is better than Fellaini, and we're better off without the latter being available.
So he's about to get his wish in the next game.

Laughable to say we'll miss a guy who can't even handle Cardiff's technique. Just imagine Leverkusen's midfield, a midfield who can actually pass - against Fellaini.

It really really sucks that we bought him. 27.5 Million for nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I said before that if we have to pay that for Fellani that we should only on the basis that he would be our last option. At this point I would have taken nothing and just taken our chances with Jones, Carrick, Giggs, Anderson.

Well, who's to say we wouldn't have gone with that option anyway? We might even end up with Giggs in midfield. Whatever our options are on wednesday we will struggle.

No one said that. You're making shit up and looking silly doing so.

Yea, both have commited 4 fouls today, Fellaini's forward passes % was 67 and Cleverley's forward passes were at 65%. Overall passing: Fellaini - 84%, Cleverley 81%. Seems pretty even no ?

Now let's talk about defensive duties: Fellaini has made 4 clearances, 4 tackles, 2 interceptions and won 7 aerial duels, Cleverley's had astonishing 1 interception and 2 clearances.

Just admit it, you're talking out of your ass.

I know it's been said before, but if he was playing for City or Chelsea right now and putting in similiar performances we would be laughing.

Well, who's to say we wouldn't have gone with that option anyway? We might even end up with Giggs in midfield. Whatever our options are on wednesday we will struggle.

Well, surely there's a particular lineup that can get the result with the available players? Considering that United are only being held back by Moyes' lineup choices and tactics?

Yeah I said during the sociedad game that fellainis red was a blessing in disguise. I just hope we have somebody else to play there. When is jones due back?

I'm not confident of a result with any line up we have available on wednesday. Sounds awfully pessimistic but missing Carrick and even Jones is pretty big and leaves us with a massive gap. Bayer need to win too, so they are going to take the game to us and I don't think we can do much to stop it.

You're only talking about today. Talk about the whole season. Cleverley has been better than the useless kunt that is Fellaini. He's a better footballer than him, having far less starts and being 2 years younger. Just admit Fellaini's ass and will go down as the biggest flop at our club.

Because the managers only role in player selection.

Pep Guardiola says hi.

Yea, and I as well take into consideration that Cleverley's been here for some time now and it's Fellaini's first season, age doesn't mean shit in this case. And no, Cleverley's not a better player, and no, he won't be our 'biggest flop' but since you've managed to call Berbatov a flop then I suppose you have no idea what this word means.

Never thought I'd be saying this, but its time to give Ando another shot.

Leverkusen game mate.

Exactly. Thanks for proving me right.

I said I wouldn't mind Anderson getting a shot ahead of him, I.e wouldn't mind Anderson starting the next game given how shit Fellaini has been for us. Nowhere did I say Anderson is a better player than him. Also, the use of the phrase "wouldn't mind" further proved you wrong.

You're just so wrong today charleysurf. Bad day in the e-office for you.

Hmm, your type usually at least stick their neck out and tell us what lineup and tactics would win any given game, not just refer to vague "coach better" shite. You need to read more Jonathan Wilson you.

Your type usually post nonsense and you're doing just that. You need to post less nonsense.

Leverkusen game mate.

Cleverley hasn't started regularly like a certain Belgian has. It's his first season for United but he's been in this league for years at Everton. Don't excuse him. Speaking of Everton they know they've robbed us. 27.5 million. Unbelievable for such a limited footballer.

Shouldn't a 28m midfielder be able to stand out whoever is around him?!

Is that your defence for being caught out squarely? Oof, weak stuff.

Caught out? I said something. You interpreted with the interpreting skills of a 5 year old, and now can't accept your mistake. Sad to see.

You know that Fellaini has played less game for us this season than Cleverley, right?

No, of course you don't.

No. Haven't you heard we need to put 2 other midfielders around him to make him somewhat effective. Laughable really.

If you would ask Bayern, Madrid or Barca if they would even consider Fellaini, they would all laugh at us. And yet for some reason, we bought him. Not only did we buy him, we overpaid SIGNIFICANTLY for him.
