So what do you think he should provide then?
we should had never signed him in the first place.

That was a good performance from him and it was still miles away from being good enough as Man united midfielder.
He isn't good enough, put simply. Even at his best he wouldn't be good enough. Would McCarthy have been a better signing? Yes. There's probably at least ten midfielders in the premier league that would've been a better signing than him.

Fellaini will probably never be good enough but the heat would not be on him so much if Man Utd had a top playmaker in front of him that was able to play lots of defence splitting passes......It remains to be seen if Moyes can get a team that doesn't play hoofbal even if he finds a world class playmaker somewhere in january
Thought he was OK overall. Good first, bad second. Looked like a future squad player today at least.
In all honesty, even as a squad player I'd only want him to play if we were atleast two goals up.
Not blaming him at all, who would turn down a move to United? He didn't play terribly today either but still looked so unlike a Manchester United player it's ridiculous.
He just isn't good enough, him being hugely effective for Everton is akin to Heskey being hugely effective for England. IE, he might've done a great job for a half decent team (Everton, England) but despite that he should be nowhere near a top team (Man Utd, Brazil). Brazil would never have considered Heskey and we should've seen Fellaini with the same disdain, the fact that David Moyes couldn't see this is worrying.
Perhaps (and this could be a touchy subject) it's David Moyes who should never have been tasked with the takeover. Obviously that'll answer itself over the coming seasons...but we could potentially be talking about possibly the least successful takeover at a huge club in a long long time.
I'm shocked at the how many posters have voted him MOM in the thread.
I would genuinely give Fellaini, Young and Valencia away for free, at a massive loss, just to take the potential temptation to pick them away from the manager.

He seems really really good at bumbling into the back of people with his arms waving about and knocking them over for a foul. We've been missing a player who's really good at that.
