I don't think the club will sell unless they get a big money offer.
Worrying. He's saying Martial wants to leave and refused contract extension.
It's incredibly important for the future of the team that we give him a new contract. Hopefully this is just a tactic to put pressure on the team through his French media contacts. Can't see any reason to sell him, and if we do, it's surely got to be for a Neymar-style fee. Which club would pay that?
He refused a contract. And there's no chance we'll get a Neymar fee, we'll hopefully get around £50m but even that's probably pushing it.It's incredibly important for the future of the team that we give him a new contract. If we assume Martial is happy to move to a lower club then I certainly understand the wish to leave. There's not a single top club he'd start at though, so he'd have to accept a wage cut and playing for a club outside top 2 in La Liga or outside top 4 in the Premier League.
So he doesn't fit our system now, the fact the we have a system is news to me.
He'd start for Atletico and maybe Juve tho.

No chance.
World class players have to have far more to their game than him.
He'll go to Juventus and then end up back in France at Lyon or Marseille etc.
He doesn't fit Jose's system, that much is blatantly evident.
Out of curiosity are you a Martial fan or a United fan?
He'll go for over 70m. Remember ousmane dembele with only 1 good season at Dortmund (arguably only as good as Martials first season) went for like 130m? Martial is more of a scorer then dembele too. He'll go for over 70m for sure imo. Will be a joke if the club let him go for less.He refused a contract. But he only has a year left on his contract, whereas Dembele had a number of years. He'll go for over 70m. Even so, 2 years isn't exactly a lot of breathing room.He has an extension we can trigger, so he basically has 2 years left.
Think it's just the standard one we always include, 1 year we can trigger whenever we want. It's essentially 2 years left I'd say.It depends on how the 1 year clause work, if it's unilateral or not, and whether potential suitors are patient enough to maybe wait 6 months.

Losing him over play time because of Sanchez would just be a hard pill to swallow. A bird in the hand rather than two in the bush and all that, but it just feels like it's going to come back and bite us. And Alexis hasn't exactly been unplayable as of yet so it's all a bit disappointing.
Jose's system is to sit back and wait for his opposition to make a mistake so we can counter.
I can see why some players might not thrive under this system.
I am a United fan who cares dearly about the future of the club, which is why I am also a Martial fan.
I think it's usually one that the club and player do in good faith. We did it with Blind even though Mourinho has no intention on keeping him. Same with Shaw. With Evra, van Gaal was coming in, evra wanted out so a new manager probably doesnt care for a past it player who wants out. So if Martial wants out, I doubt people would use the "1 year left"excuse for a lower price when we can just put it to 2 to get a fair price, and I doubt martial is desperate to leave so would be fine with us getting a fair price.Yeah but I don't how our standard one work and I don't think anyone has ever described it, I remember that it was already a debate with Evra.
The club offered him a 5yr contract, however he rejected it according to the news.
He's never been one of our most important attackers since Mourinho has been here. The team has improved and left him behind. He's average. No chance. He's 22 and people are writing him off when pre-February, he was one our most important attackers and key to us already being second in the table. Now he's shite and is going to end up like Depay.
We will regret this if we don't at least ensure we get a buy-back option.
I mean he hasn't been better than Martial yet and he's way older than him as well. I believe that Alexis will get back to his brilliant level for United but Martial could've potentially given us the same/or better just for a longer period of time. Or he would never reach his potential. It's all about risk/reward and I'd rather just take the gamble with Martial even if we would miss out on Alexis. A bit late for that now, of course.Alexis has been very good in the last couple of matches tbf. And he's more likely to continue his form than Martial is I reckon.
