I think we all would love to see Martial in the starting line up as on his day he’s an amazing exciting player.
But we have to remember we’re Manchester United FC not Martial FC and if he feels like he doesn’t want to fight for the shirt next season then we say good luck and move on.
We’ve just won a semi final yet a lot of people were still upset Martial wasn’t playing.

De bruyne was sold to medium size club like wolfsburg. If he was that good then why top clubs or big clubs like napoli, inter, atletico didn't want him?
Neither of them were given a serious chance by Mourinho though. He saw them in training and evidently decided they weren't good enough to play for him. The fans will have had a very limited amount of games to form an opinion on the players in question.
Jose was sacked by Chelsea in December 2015. Salah was sold by Chelsea in August 2016. Jose did not sell Salah.
Not true. Both KDB and Salah were at Chelsea when they were winning the Prem, so were trying to break in to an already league winning side. So an established league winning player would have had to have been dropped for them to play, which would have caused just as much fuss.
Jose wanted KDB to stay, KDB demanded to leave for more game time so Jose gave KDB his wish.
Salah was loaned out to get game time because he wasn't going to replace Hazard (Hazard had just won Premier League Player of the Year and PFA Player of the Year), Fabregas, Oscar, or Ramires in the team at that time.

The situation is at a point where I would personally advise Martial to seek a club that gives him more guarantees to play. Even if it's in France (I would love him to join Marseille for instance). Sometimes it's simply not meant to work out no matter how talented the player is and no matter who the manager is.
It's just that people develop these weird cult like love for certain players that they lose all sense of logic and reality.
I honestly don't know what people have viewed of Martial this season, I think he's been excellent for the opportunities he's been given. Others just seem to think he's lazy and overhyped. He's been thrown to the curb since Sanchez arrived. It would be interesting to get a poll going on this thread. A) He will be here next season B) He won't be here C) Don't care if he leaves
That option was for Roma to buy him at any point during the season (http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/08/salah-in-roma-loan-.html). They didn't buy him during the season so that option expired. Conte then sold Salah.
Also a bit odd that the so many people reject the suggestion that Jose winning the league under 3 years ago still makes him a top manager, yet are happy to cast up a few transfers out of hundreds, dating back even further, as evidence of his incompetence.
They redeemed that option and signed him.

The wins against CP, MCFC, Spurs, where we come from behind is the mentality that is required to make it at this club and I am not sure if Martial is willing to fight like this.
Martial should speak to Jose and ask him in simple English, what will it take for him to be a first team regular. He can then then work on those qualities.
Jose himself likes players who will run through brick walls for the team and I just don't see Martial being that kind of player.
Does anybody remember when we played LCFC and Smalling played on, even though injured. Jose must've been smiling to himself for hours, especially after he (the previous year) inferred that Smalling was a weak minded for declaring himself injured all the time. Since that game, Smalling has been our first choice centre back, when fit. Jose loves fighters (Fellaini is a good example) and Martial has to get the message through to Jose that he is exactly that.
In short, Martial will either fight for his place and stay at the club, or he will give up, because it's too hard to fight and leave. If he gives up and leaves, I would be happy to see him go, as we simply cannot hang onto any players with a weak mentality.

He has been sulking since he came here. For those who wonder why Mou picks Rashford over him is because of the work he puts in and the same goes for Lingard.
I like Martial a lot and really hope we don´t sell but he isn´t a grafter and never will be when things are tough he rarely steps up that is why Mourinho will pick others over him.
For the right offer and with the right replacement I'd be happy enough. He's far from indispensable and struggled to maintain his form over a season, especially in certain types of games when you need a player to step ala Sanchez away at City and on Saturday. He doesn't produce those performances.

We offered a contract and he hasn’t signed. We can use the money in other areas, we have Sanchez and Rashford on the left anyway. Martial is replaceable, he isn’t Ronaldo.
It’s not about being happy either, if he stays he stays, if he doesn’t, oh well.
The fate of Manchester United doesn't depend on Martial staying or going. He isn't even a key player for us.

@RetroStu Martial's a top talent and he will be world class but sometimes, for whatever reason, it doesn't work out. Honestly, since I saw Andrei Kanchelskis, Paul Ince and Mark Hughes leave in a single summer, I've mainly be able to accept players leaving. Van Nistlerooy and Ronaldo were two exceptions but even with Ronnie I got tired with the 'slave' stuff.
The good thing about football is there are always other good players if you lose one.
All this stuff about Jose selling DeBruyne etc. Has there ever been a great manager who didn't sell a top player? For example, Pep sold Toni Kroos to Real Madrid, Madrid then won the Champions League three times in four years. It happens. Would Chelsea fans have sacrificed the 2014-15 Premier League to have kept Salah, DeBruyne and Lukaku happy when they had Costa, Hazard etc. doing the business for them?
Martial's great but he's not at the level of a bloke who has lead Chile to two Copa America's, having to go through Suarez and Messi on the way. So if Martial goes then he goes. If it means we buy a proper right winger I can live with it.

Well, that is not because they were shite back then and all of a sudden have become world-class. The real reason is that they matured and were given playing time by the managers who saw their strengths and weaknesses and developed them further. Same can be applied to Martial.

This is a little short term. I think in 2/3 years if were struggling for a top forward and Martial is excelling then we will really look stupid. Given Sanchez will likely be done by then.
Its no biggy though I think we will find one but lets not think its that easy. We have struggled for 4/5 years to get one since Fergie left

Very doubtful he'll make the most of what he's got, which is plenty, he just seems the sort of player who does something really good and then thinks that'll do for a bit, have a rest, and then do a little bit more, imo his nonchalant approach will hold back throughout his career.

Considering how sanchez was doing most of his damage when he drifted to the right, see no reason why we cant have him play there for any non top 4 matchup and incorporate martial in that LW slot. If we had done that this year after sanchez signing think this season would have turned out different. Just don't see why it had to be sanchez OR martial when simple tweaks could have had both out there.
Managers don't last more than 3-4 years now. I think we can all agree on this. The most successfull clubs have a long term approach about this and don't let temporary managers dictate the future of the club by selling or buying whomever they want. Pep for example at Barcelona was given a list of choices on on the position he wanted and they worked from there. In most other clubs as well there are checks and balances to avoid situations like KDB, Salah and Lukaku from happening.

Martial hugs the left side a lot more than Alexis, make sense he starts on the Left and works well with Pogba.
Playing Alexis down the middle allowing him a free role as he will make the runs in behind and will drop back to tackle, play him as the false 9. Rom imo is absolutely lethal when he roams to the right and goes at the LB/CB, I think he prefers it when the ball is played in behind for him to run onto, like Vs Bournemouth for example. He can position himself in between the LB and CB and whoever picks him up will leave gaps for Sanchez.

We did something similar to that against Chelsea at OT. Think it's a good formation for a players, provided we can get real good full-backs this summer.
Sandro (regardless of form) and Ricardo Pereira would be my 2.
Dont get me wrong here I love to watch him play and would love to have him here .. That said I get why Jose isnt a fan and that is mostly down to Jose's style of play. Jose loves performances like Sanchez have v Tottenham and sadly that isn't Martial. His lack of spirit or fight or emotions or what we should call it isnt helping him either .. Even if it doesnt sound like it I mostly agree with you, I was fuming when Jose threw him under the bus when we signed Sanchez as Martial had over a period before that been in great form. But sadly at that time I felt Jose didnt really like him all that much ..
Similar to me then. Sandro or Tierney on the left and Meunier or Pereira on the right would work well.
Provided we replace him with a geniune right forward, I honestly don't care.

Sandro & Pereira imo are the best fullback available, both would take us to a new level. Sandro should slot in straight away should be our no.1 LB. Pereira could rotate with Valencia in his first year, prove to all how good he is, then displace him and Valencia would become surplus.
I'm tired of hearing this garbage about fighters and mentality. The bravery we need is about playing attacking football. Getting our foot on the ball and embarassing teams. You can't tell me that Man City has more fighters than we do. Are Sane and Sterling more talented and bettee fighters and have greater mental strength than Rashford and Martial? What they have is a superior footballing plan and a better Manager who has learned from his mistakes last year. A manager that knows how to develop young attacking talent. We can talk about fighting all we want but until the football improves technically we will be second best. We played away to Southampton earlier in the season and fought to win 1-0 because we didn't dare to try to possess the ball away to a team that is about to be relegated. What has cost us more is not fight or mental strength. It is the fact that our Manager is one dimensional. Liverpool with a midfield of Henderson, Milner and Oxlade Chamberlain are offering better football. That's NOT mental strength or fight. That is a difference in footballing ethos.

Truth is Martial is just a ridiculously gifted young player. The kind that makes you giddy as a fan when he's in form. The idea of that player at the peak of his powers is a pretty special one, but the thought of that happening at another club instead is just as depressing. For awhile now, Pogba and Martial have been the reason to get excited to watch us. Of course we all support the club despite the tumescent football at times. But these kind of players change the experience. So of course I bloody want him to stay.
It's called foresight. Being able to spot the potential of players better than others is a skill and deciding where they stand in your plans is a preference/individual judgement. I'm not saying Mourinho shouldn't have sold either player but he could have kept them and developed them at Chelsea if he wanted to. It's hardly as if every manager chucks out every player who isn't absolutely perfect in the present moment.
Besides, Martial is good enough for us anyway. It's a question of compatibility, suitability and preference.
So by that logic Martial should go to a smaller club where he has the patience and freedom to develop those facets of his game then? We are one of the biggest clubs in the World and I'm sorry but as good as Martial is and can be, it's a result driven business now. Managers don't have the freedom to play inferior players or players who don't suit their systems, regardless of age, just out of fear they may lose them. He's a great talent, but if he's not happy with the competition and wants to leave, he's free to.
If he's chucking up this much of a fuss because of half a season of reduced game time, it speaks volumes about his intentions of staying here. Even if he was to unlock this potential everyone is speaking of, he'd surely leave.
Great player and all, but money isn't an issue for us, there will always be replacements just as good and better available. He's not even the best French talent at the club, let alone in Europe.
Replace French with Belgian and it makes you wonder if Chelsea fans felt the same way with De Bryune.
