Convenient that you left out Pochs own words, which I'll reiterate for you:

The feeling is about winning the Champions League and, if not, you will feel that you have failed

Even the great Poch himself knows he has failed

It's going to a dilemma for you here, you can either disregard what Pochettino stated which will mean you don't believe in Poch or what he says any more, making it difficult, or nigh on impossible to carry on with your Poch loving,

Or you can agree with his OWN words, and basically agree that he has been a failure at PSG and reduce every statement you've made on here to rubble.

its a tough choice mate, I don't envy you at all :lol:

, I didn't disregard his word. I said that poch didn't meet expectations because expectations was high. But neither did other managers we are in for. Tuchel was a failure at psg as well as he didn't win champion league, so was ancellotti and emery. Yet, they are doing fine. It is difficult for any manager to meet expectations at psg because the expectations is ridiculously high and winning the champion league is never a given

What Pochettino did do is that with a dysfunctional team, he manage to walk the league and also made it to the semi finals of the champion league. If expectations are moderate or normal then he would easily meet those expectations

So you're disregarding what Poch said then,
In which case you must no longer believe Poch to be God,

Do you feel cleansed?

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Poch is a fraud, and he got found out. The way he just stood still as PSG was losing the game tells you everything you need to know about him.

What are you on about. I m not disregarding anything. Did you not read my post? I stated poch didn't meet those high expectations. I have always been unbiased and logically. The poch hater on here, which is like a cult similiar to the Ole inner have been the the one that needs cleansing

EDIT: Adding a few more for emphasis

Getting knocked out by the favorite isn't a bad thing and poch psg team actually was the best team overall in both legs only for 18 minutes of faulty error from their defenders. Nothing desperate about stating fact.

In fact, i dont know why i keep bother responding to your post, when experts who is worth more my time have more articulated and more insightful opinion and reiterate what I say.

No team can be competitive when you have three passengers in the team and the way psg dominated real Madrid and is walking the league, is quite remarkable accomplishment.

Completely untrue as other already pointed out.

How on earth are Madrid favourites for the Champions League ahead of Bayern, City, Liverpool or Chelsea?

Honestly why do you guys even interact with that troll? Goes into hiding when his loser manager is exposed and returns the moment United lose a game.

Put him on ignore.

I'm a big fan of delusional fans, especially of something as weird as fan of managers, so he's staying off my ignore list.

Because I enjoy the desperation in his posts, and I can almost sense the extreme mental gymnastics he is performing to make any resemblance of sense through my screen!

It's both amusing and addictive.

You're disregarding the words spoken by the great one.
He has called himself a failure, yet you are dismissing those words, unless you are willing to call him a failure too?

What Pochettino did do is that with a dysfunctional team, he manage to walk the league and also made it to the semi finals of the champion league. If expectations are moderate or normal then he would easily meet those expectations
You know he picks and coaches the team? If it's a dysfunctional team, I wonder where that stems from?

How am I dismissing those word when I said he didn't meet those high expectations? Regardless, it is not like any manager since psg gotten oil money has met these high standards. A lot of these managers has gone on to excel after psg and I am 99% positive if Pochettino comes to united he will exceed as well. Definitely do better than any of our other managers post sir Alex.

You know Messi, neymar and mbappe are in the team? Some players you can't dropped as they have too much power and these players are in the top three along with our very own Ronaldo. It is what happens when you have a team filled with big superstars and ego. Leonardo is the one that decide to fill the team with galaciticos rather than build a proper balanced team. That is why psg fan are booeing Messi, neymar and want Leonardo gone

Didn't go into hiding and if things was so bad, why did I not stay in hiding? How does that nake sense that i came back when united lose when i support united??? You are just upset about how badly Ole crumbled at United since you supported him and he ended up being one of or our worse manager. Something I called back then when I was in the minority and was faced with the same amount of criticism I m seeing now with poch

Said it before there are question marks over Poch (they were there even when his Spurs team were are their peak) and PSG job maybe drained him but it seems like people will criticize him just for the sake of it now.

I'll be happy/content if Pochettino becomes our manager in few months time. He's not awful manager like some on here will make you think. Perhaps he wouldn't get us back to the very top, but no one is going to do that (at least not soon).

No shot @Amadaeus actually thinks PSG were the underdogs against Real Madrid

His pro-Poch propaganda is actually hilarious at this point.

I don't think Pochettino is an awful manager, but I definitely think he's a fraud as far as being a great manager or someone who can handle a big club. I didn't feel that way when Tuchel left, but Poch's resignation is something that if you see it once, it's in the man, and that's not what I would want for a club trying to get to the top. He's someone who would be excellent at a mid-size club with the appropriate level of expectations.

I think he's a little above just a good manager, do I think he is an elite level manager? No. But then, who is? Pep, Tuchel, Conte, Klopp?

That PSG team has too many passengers when without the ball, especially with how Poch likes to play with a fast press from the front for the first 5-10 seconds on turnover.

Benzema is playing as well as anyone for PSG and to the level of Mbappé, Vinicius is doing as well as Neymar, if not better, at the moment.

Real's midfield of Casemiro/Valverde Modric and Kroos has won it all and is easily the match of Verratti, Paredes and Danilo. Courtois = Donnarumma. Alaba is an excellent defender and while I rate Marquinhos highly, could argue the equal, especially in those games. I don't really rate Kimpembe, would rather Eder Militao. Nacho vs Mendes, much of amuchness.

Hakimi is much better than Carvajal and Messi should be much better than Asensio in two positions. But does Messi take as much away these days when also playing in an unbalanced team with Neymar and Mbappé?
I believe you are conflating ability with depth of resources.
PSG have far better resources to call in all 3 departments. Even goal.

In midfield for example for all the starting quality Real have. A starting midfield of a 36 year old Modri, 32 year old Kroos backed by inexperienced Valverde, then Canavibga. Had no business over running a team that could start Verratti, Paredes and Danilo. Yet have Wijnauldum, Gana, Herrera and Draxler or even Di Maria waiting in the wings. That happened due to poverty of coaching

Gone from being Adamant Arrogant Amadaeus, to Am not always right, Am often wrong Amadaeus.

Has now officially demeaned and disregarded Poch, I do believe he has seen the light.

In all seriousness however, no one knows how he would do at United, I hope if he does end up at OT, he does really well.
however all signs so far point to him not being able to tactically outthink opponents, not being able to come up with changes that affect the game and not being able to handle high profile players, albeit with the caveat that PSG is one of a kind.

From an outside perspective, it pretty much looks like he's toying with you, as he doesn't seem to believe half of what he's saying or is at least grossly exaggerating it for trollish purposes.

I think reacting like you are is giving him exactly what he's looking for, thus enabling him poisoning this thread and the manager discussion over the entire forum. None have more responsibility over this than the mod team though - I'd assume one of its members either finds these whole theatrics funny themselves or are buddy with him?

Sorry for participating in derailing this thread even further, but I sincerely believe it's become impossible to have a sincere, serious discussion in here anyway. A bit like in Tottenham threads of old with Glaston, though he at least seemed to have a bit more faith in his own rhetoric.

They don't have to be, but even if it was the case, he should have done a better job in setting up the team for success. You're blaming Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, when you even said the reason they lost because of their defence. Neymar and Mbappe combined for their goal and they actually were a threat for most of the game. Their inability to hold posesssion and create chances is due to team set up, once again, down to him.

This is a spirited defence of Poch and credit to you for that, but have you perhaps considered that he may not actually be that good? He just doesn't win enough IMO. He was given a lot of credit for what he did with Spurs on limited money, but he had several major trophy opportunities there and couldn't close the deal.

I've watched a lot of PSG in ligue un since he took over (and previously) and a lot of their performances have been terrible. Yes they're ahead and yes they're going to win the league this year, but it's scant return for the investment.

He failed to win Ligue Un last year (I think the only time they've failed to win the league in the last 9 seasons, other than in 2016-17 when they were beaten to the title by Mbappe's Monaco - Poch therefore has the rare distinction of failing to win a French league title with Mbappe).

He will probably be sacked at the end of the season and he will (likely) have one league title and one French Cup. We all know that no PSG manager has reached the Holy Grail of the Champions League win, but that still contrasts very poorly in a domestic sense with his immediate predecessors Tuchel, Emery and Blanc.

You have to go all the way back to Carlo to find a PSG manager as unsuccessful as Poch, and Carlo was there right at the start of the money influx and has dozens of trophies elsewhere. Poch does not.

Imagine if United pay like £10-15m plus to buy him out of his PSG contract and then afterwards PSG say they were going to sack him after the Madrid defeat, but kept him a bit longer because they knew United would pay for him.

Does make me wonder if that's why they didn't sack him...

Why would they sack him now? It would achieve nothing, it's not as if they have a manager to replace him with.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Poch is a fraud, and he got found out. The way he just stood still as PSG was losing the game tells you everything you need to know about him.

Posters constantly bringing up his time at Southampton and Spurs without looking at the evidence right in front of our eyes as to what he is doing right now.

You are going a bit far. Pochettino is a good manager, I wouldn't call him a fraud just because he isn't on par with elite managers or cup "specialists". I believe that we have seen his limitations and doubts that he will overcome them but it doesn't make him a fraud.

Have you read my responses to the poster?! There's only one person playing around here!

I am willing to have conversation with people regarding the merits of Poch, as long as they are constructive.

This thread has been hijacked by said poster, however I feel he has since seen the light.
Maybe it might get back on track now.

Well, I clarified that comment a bit. I think he's a fraud as far as being wanted by some of the top clubs, I don't think he's suited to be the manager of the elite teams and he's more appropriate at mid-sized club. I think he's a good manager, I don't think he belongs anywhere near PSG, or United for that matter and any clubs above those two.

I see your point here because I arrived to a similar conclusion, I don't see him as the ideal target in an ideal world for a team that has trophy aspirations. But I still see him in the same way I see managers like Pellegrini or Valverde, he is a genuinely good manager that will allow any top club to settle and maintain a high floor which can lead to a league title under the right circumstances.

My issue with United or PSG is that neither teams need that. PSG needs a difference maker a ceiling raiser because the fabric of the team meant that their floor was already high, that's why I liked the idea of having Ancelotti, Emery and Tuchel, Emery didn't act like I was expecting but the other two did and I thought that they were good. Blanc had the most consistent and most entertaining version but he is a bit like Pochettino, high floor-low ceiling.

Now when it comes to United, I believe that they need a winner, someone that has fire in his belly that wants to win and win as a team. I don't think that it is Pochettino, he doesn't seem to take loses personally, he doesn't even accept the idea of high expectations. He mirrors what many posters think about our players, that they are just following the motion.

We're in complete agreement then, especially your assessment of our previous managers I couldn't put it better. The only thing I would add, although I'm sure you also see it the same way, it's that in both United and PSG's case, the answer doesn't just stop at the manager, it's also about the sporting direction and in some ways the ownership itself. The reports of a Wenger-Zidane partnership sounds like absolute fantasy by the fans/media, but that would be a step in the right direction.

I think Real were the bookies favourites before the first leg.
As they should have been, Real Madrid was looking shaky the few games prior to the clash, and Benzema getting injured didn't help, but PSG have been shaky all season, and basically turned into a different team against Madrid where all of the sudden they were cohesive, able to line up passes and keep possession, it was definitely not an expected performance, nor was Real Madrid's approach to the first game.

Is it possible that we are leaning more towards Ten Hag and Poch knows…?

He might actually end up staying if the rumours about Leonardo, Nasser etc moving on are true.

His latest comments doesn't sound like a an thay has an agreement with Man Utd

Might be clutching here, but I'm assuming that Poch has learned that he won't be offered the United job (at the behest of Ten Hag), so is now looking to consolidate his position as PSG coach.

If United fans think players have downed tools at any point this season or not given enough efforts, they should really watch the first half of Monaco - PSG to see what a Poch-lead unmotivated team looks like.
