Yes I was wondering that as well :)

2013 was the last time Jose had that swagger that made him so indomitable. Maybe the Atlético defeat the following years was one of the things that sapped his confidence. He had a very good Chelsea team in ‘15 and their exit to PSG was absolutely pathetic. Repeated three years later when his United got knocked out by Seville. We weren’t a great side by any means, but his tactics made Garth Southgate look swashbuckling.
 
PSG will hire Galtier from Nice. The man who beat them with Lille last year
 
He's being sacked because PSG simply can't even begin to comprehend his genius tbf. Will go to another club and continue to dominate European football

You're right, can't say I have any unfortunately. People also overlook the fact that he basically created the concept of pressing. Completely revolutionised the English game.

You mock, but that night early in 2013 when Southampton visited OT very early in Poch’s reign was the most relentless display of pressing I’d seen up to then; I’ve not seen much since to surpass it.

Southampton still lost, of course…

I hope Mourinho stays at Roma for his sake. The only way he can be deemed a success at PSG is by winning the Champions League, and the worst case is complete disaster and war with the dressing room - which both Mourinho and PSG have previous for.

I'm no fan of him, but I'm intrigued to see if he can prove himself at an underdog team where he is being backed. It would be a nice success story for the game, even if he is an arsehole.

To be fair both Porto and Inter were underdogs in Europe and to a degree Madrid was an underdogs compared to Barcelona.

Well yeah and I actually believe that's where Mourinho's strength lies - to take a team who aren't the best in their league/Europe and get them to compete with the elite.

Theoretically United & Madrid were those teams in terms of on pitch success at the time he managed them, but there was too much baggage there as they are still undoubtedly huge teams even if they weren't in their best moments. That's why they ended in acrimony.

Spurs could have fit the mould, but Levy being a tight arse and a strong character himself was never going to work. I also think the squad were a bit too soft. With Roma he has the backing of the owners and the fans, and Italian football is more up his street.

I want to see if it can work, you just know how PSG will pan out so it's far less interesting as a neutral.
 
Oh no, Lord Poch is facing the sack? How could something like this even happen? Inconceivable scenes.

We missed out on that chance when at times Ole was acting like the Michael Scott of Manchester United. (Without the somewhat sucess of course, lets not forget Michael Scott has the best operating branch in all of Dunder Mifflin)

I like him actually. It’s his fanboys who believe everything he says at face value that I can’t stand.
 
Zidane taking over makes too much sense to not happen. He's an ice cold French football legend who happens to be a Champion's League specialist and is more than used to dealing with superstar prima donnas through his Real Madrid experience. He's just tailor-made for the job.

I wonder where Pochettino will go next? I don't think any top club is hiring right now, so he might have to wait for a while if he wants a top job.

The potential issue with Zidane is he's temperamental. He's managed Real Madrid twice and never lasted longer than 2.5 years before he quit (unlike every single other RM manager, who gets fired). I don't see that working long-term in the PSG environment.

The best manager for them is probably Ancelotti, but he says he's winding down his career after leaving Real Madrid.
 
It's pretty classless this long drawn out sacking, if you're going to do it then do it

It's also strange to sack him if they don't have a better replacement already lined up which it seems like they don't. It seems like the new regime just want their own man for the sake of it

I honestly think they we’re waiting for someone else to approach him. Nobody wants him.

Yeah wrong time for that, we've got ETH, Spurs are happy with Conte, Real aren't about to get rid of Ancelotti after what he's just done

He hasn't been sacked yet because the DoF only got appointed this week, Luis Campos is supposed to decide on what happens next.
 
I remember there was a rumor a month or so ago about Bilbao looking at him to replace Marcelino, could be a good move for him.

Zidane doesn't need to stay more than a season or two. He just has to deliver the CL trophy to a club with an unlimited budget.

But PSG wouldn’t care if he came in won the champions league and quit the season after. He’s done his job! And you say long term like PSG are known for that, they sack managers like it’s nothing perfect example is Pochettino about to be sacked.
