Yet a good few here say the stats don’t lie. All you got to do is watch his performances and he simply isn’t good enough

Id take Pogba jogging through games and being completely unreliable in defence over these 2. The problem with Pogba playing CM is we don’t have a good enough DM to play alongside him, these 2 can’t do it and Matic is to old.
 
Quite baffling that a midfielder isn't the priority in the transfer window.
 
Worst midfield passing display ever from a United player that from Fred.
 
We will not win a PL or CL with Fred in our midfield. How many goals have we seen over the past few years where the goalkeeper rolls the ball out to him and he is either caught in possession or gives it away with a poor pass. Squad player for cup games and lesser teams in the PL, but not at this level.

It has to be we’ve got two that aren’t good enough and don’t even have any competition. Pogba has been poor but as soon as he moved into midfield we’ve been able pass the ball forward.
 
I like how the player performance threads are locked during games so people just complain in these threads instead.
 
If I were James Garner, I'd hit the gym and be knocking on Ole's door every other day asking for a chance. These two are not United starting material and we've known that for a while now.
 
If we want to challenge for the title, we need to upgrade on both of them in the summer.
 
Absolutely abysmal. Embarrassing that a club of this side has them two as first choice.
 
Fred has been absolutely shocking all season and this has to be his worst performance to date. Woeful, inept and a complete liability. He should be nowhere near the team.
 
Mctominay’s ball watching and casual jogging back is really something he can’t afford to do. Limited players need to be at maximum effort all the time or they look very ordinary, happening too often now.

Fred fell apart at start of second half, no idea how to cope with Liverpool pressing, Mctominay disappeared. Negligent not to upgrade one in summer at least.

Id understand if we had 2 capable players but these 2 mugs are keeping Pogba and VDB out of the midfield? it’s a joke

its Fred and McTominay mate. They’re good at running around, wank at everything else
 
As I’ve been saying, we need a CDM it’s as much of a priority as a RW.
 
I honestly do not understand how McTominay is anywhere near that starting lineup, the same can be said for Fred too.
 
The Fred experiment has to be over. He does work hard for the team and do some of the dirty work in midfield. But he is absolutely shocking on the ball. You can see other teams come alive when he gets the ball because they know he’s likely to give it away.
 
Both are good squad options, if they are first choice another season then we are on a road to nowhere.
 
Bojan Djordjic on swedish telly saying that none of them are good enough to be Man United players and belong playing in teams in the bottom. Couldn't be more right.
 
We need to stop pretending these two are good enough. We lose the midfield against any decent team we play. Laughably bad. They’re nowhere near good enough defensively to cover for how awful they are on the ball.

I don't think anyone pretending these two are good enough as starters. Unless for people who love just watching stats.

As squad players, they're Ok.

There’s a litany of people on this forum who think they’re great. Mostly Fred.
 
They're a diabolical pairing and if we enter next season starting with them then it will be another top 4 and a cup at best season.
