MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Doubt it. Not the way SAF talked about him today. He'll get dogs abuse from the fans and his form is shit anyway.

Either he signs a new deal or he is off in Jan.

Doesn't matter...no one on the Caf goes to games anyway :p

People need to get a grip. United would match anything City could offer so the appeal is not there for that. I think Rooney's been holding out for a better deal and now the pressure is on him to take the deal or not. But unlike Ronaldo this doesn't add up.

Do you come from fecking Mars?

City are giving YaYa Toure something like 187k a week, soon to be over 200k due to tax rules.

Jesus...why are you refusing to accept the reality of this?

In my opinion hes a fecking coward. All his problems off and on the field as of late won't go away if he leaves United. He is looking for an easy way out from a situation he created himself. No individual is bigger than Manchester United. I appreciate all of the work he has done for our club and im sad it has come to this but if he thinks he is bigger than the club then get him flogged for a feck load of money and bring in the next generation of Manchester United. Even if that means a few seasons with less silverware than we are used to and some topsy turvey results along the way

Rooney is no better than Tevez or Heinze.

Worse in my opinion. Wonder what all the caftards Sticking up for Rooney are saying now? During his time here he could do no wrong until his private life got exposed.

Rooney is no better than Tevez or Heinze.

He's worse.

Tevez I can almost sympathize with. There is case to be made that he was marginalized when Berba was brought in. Heinze was just a cnut, but he took lost his spot (although asking to move to Liverpool made him look a massive twat).

But rooney is the worst.

Kissing the badge. Players for life.

Turns out he's the same lying, dodging, cheating scouse cnut he's always been. We shouldn't be shocked or angry. This is the man we bought from Everton and he was the same even then.

Whose listening to the bitter on talksport! Ha

'Their times gone now'

As bad as Heinze. Worse than Tevez. Carlos wanted to leave for footballing reasons. Why the feck did Rooney want to leave for?

Worse than Heinze?

Heinze also wanted to leave for footballing reasons didn't he?

Evra was taking his place.

Yes he will.

Would selling in January get us the most money? Clubs knowing we're ready to sell surely can't be a good thing?

I'm I the only one that thinks both sides are playing (very) hardball on the contract and this will drag on yet for a long time yet?

There's a way to leave a club...This is not that way.

He has treated us like shit.

How has he treated us like shit exactly? He has informed the club he wished to leave through all proper channels.

Get a grip.

Well if he joins City im sure we will know the reasons... The only way we will know if those stories affected him is if he moves abroad

Yeh if he joins City it's unforgivable.

I agree with all but one word: "different" shoudl read "the same":(

I don't think it's the same. Rooney has been one of the first names on the team sheet for about 7 years now. With Tevez, it was just 1 season.

330pm and he wants to sleep? What the feck is with him?

Have horrible visions of Rooney celbrating in front of our fans like he does against Everton

Let's not all be feeling "sick" or "hurt" or "numb" shall we? That's how you feel when your wife leaves you (I'd imagine), not when there's an impending change in personnel at United.

Or if your bald, ugly husband fecked a whore while you were pregnant. I'd imagine.

fecking joke of a situation. If this is indicative of the way things are going to be under the Glazers, the next few years will see us sell all our stars, lose all our ambition and become a perennial mid-table club.

Poor form my arse, he just can't be arsed to give it his all in a United Jersey anymore. We should he start from now on when the likes of Hernandez and Macheda actually do want to give their all for the team.

Q. Is the door still open if Wayne changes his mind? Of course. David's prepared to offer the best terms possible for any player in the country. We realise and recognise the quality of the player, that's why negotiations were started early summer, two years before his contract was up, to extend that contract. And also extend at the behest of the player itself. He said he wanted to stay for life. We were honouring that request from Wayne to stay at the club, at the club he loved. He said the best thing he'd ever done was to sign for Manchester United. So David was prepared, with the discussions with our owners, to offer Wayne the best contract that anyone could have in the country.

What a difference 2 years makes :(

hehe

Who would have thought that Ronaldo would be the only one of the three to attempt not to behave like a spoilt little prom queen?

He did the same at Everton perhaps we shouldn't be as shocked. Seems to be as if his head was turned in the summer. City perhaps? but feck him he's yesterday's news.

I'm not shocked at the disloyalty or disrespect of it...Moyes did a good job with him and he basically spat in his face. It's nothing new/

It's just the sheer stupidity of the timing and attitude.

I mean, did he think Fergie was just going to let him walk out before the Transfer Window closed? That must have been it otherwise it makes no sense

but that was just never going to happen. Fergie's never been someone who'll let people shit all over him...so why wait until mid fecking August?

and now he's fecked that up he's just going to sulk for a whole year? How does that help him exactly? and then what, go to some club who've been living under a rock for the past year and are oblivious to his apparent liability threatening attitude issues?

What an unbelievable idiot.

Giggs, Scholes and Neville - the last of their kind.

I'm not really too bummed about it though. If he wants out, feck him. We'll cope, we always do. As long as we still have SAF we'll be fine.

Agreed. Bigger and better players have left in the past. The only concern I have is that if he is sold in January, we'll need immediate and significant investment, but will that happen whilst the fecking yanks own the club?

Yes he will.

Would selling in January get us the most money? Clubs knowing we're ready to sell surely can't be a good thing?

We won't get over £30mil from anyone other than City. I expect him to go to Madrid for about £25mil with another player coming the other way.

Worse than Heinze?

Heinze also wanted to leave for footballing reasons didn't he?

Evra was taking his place.

Heinze had contract demands and wanted parity with highest earners at the club prior to that. There was an interview on that as well.

Fergie had decided to get rid of him; hence Evra signing.

I just don't believe what's written in the papers and said in the press at the moment.

Look at the pictures of him in training, doesn't look like a player that wants to leave.

Manchester United survived before Rooney and will continue to do so without Rooney. What was achieved in 1958 in replacing 8 players is far greater than replacing some greedy scouser.

carried off with an injury in training but who can say? It's a difficult situation but I think it will be resolved eventually. All we can do is roll with it

He's worse.

Tevez I can almost sympathize with. There is case to be made that he was marginalized when Berba was brought in. Heinze was just a cnut, but he took lost his spot (although asking to move to Liverpool made him look a massive twat).

Why do we all think that kissing the badge really signifies anything? Cmon, these players are all in for the money and rarely give a shit about the club for any longer than the time during which they are successful and adored like fecking popstars.

I hope not. He's going to be holding other players back when he already knows he doesnt want to be here. Might be our best player but his form is telling otherwise just now. I'd much prefer a Berba - Hernandez partnership considering thats going to be the future unless we sign somebody else.

Perhaps I'm clinging to false hope, but a chance we're trying to force Rooneys hand?
