MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Viva Wayne Rooney...
Viva Wayne Rooney...
Put him on a plane
feck him off to Spain
Viva Wayne Rooney.

Why would people boo him while he's still at United? Why don't we show him some love and he might stay and start scoring again. Wouldn't that be better?

My thoughts exactly.

I imagine there will be a few "City Rent Boy" type chants which are meh, reasonable, but outright personal abuse will just push him out of the door.

At the moment I think Rooney is mentally all over the place, but he's odds on to stay here once he gets his mind straight.

This morning when I got to work I felt his chances of staying were better than 50%.

Now, as I am about to go home, it feels like closer to 5%.

He is gone. I just cant see any other outcome. It is out there, the fans are hurting, he will get a whole load of flak next time he plays and that will only make it more inevitable.

He'll go the way of Gazza in all probability, his off field troubles will like Gazza ruin him, his family will leave him and he'll have no manager who cares enough to protect him from it happening, in essence he'll have ruined himself and his career just like gazza did, all out of greed.

I think he needs United a lot more than we need him, the club can always buy another striker and develop other players, the club will be here long after Rooneys a washed up has-been, youll regret it Wayne, such a shame you cant see it.

Thanks for pointing that out Lou!! ;)

He'll have enough dignity to allow us to collect what we have earned from him as long as we let him go I would think.

Hes a fecking soucer who is cheating on his wife!! What dignity does he have?

He will only thinking about himself and will probably screw united in the back after what we have done for him!

the situation is not beyond repair but SAF has played uniteds last card and its all down to Rooneys next move now

once he plays and the fans get a chance to air their views it'll be too late to back track imo however with the "injury" ruling him out of tomorrows game i'd say he's got until the weekend to come to the table
The fact that he said that fans shouldn't be chanting his name at the weekend, to me signals that his time at OT will be up very shortly, and there's no repairing that. No doubt about it.

This has been going on for over two months. He's been wanting out for that long, with the fans chanting his name every match. He still wants to go. His bridges are now burnt.

I'm not going to put any effort into getting him to stay, he can feck off. Hugely brilliant player, but if he doesn't want to be here then I don't want him here.

I hope you are right. I am trying to cling to that logic but it seems to be slipping away from me.

Just watched the interview with Sir Alex.
The part that stood out for me was, that Gill had prepared an offer, that was going to make Rooney the best paid player in the country!
So, I don't know if that's the 200 k a week that has been talked about, but if so, why in the world does he want to leave, if we can pay I mean?

M.U.S.T ridiculous reaction!!

M.U.S.T on Rooney: Disappointed, and unhappy that ‘we are unable to compete even with small clubs like Manchester City

’By Nick Harris

19 October 2010

The Manchester united Supporters Trust (MUST) has responded to the news that Wayne Rooney wants to leave the club, with a spokesman saying he is “disappointed”, and that “we still hold out hope that the situation can be resolved.”

MUST also use the development to highlight concerns over the ownership of the club, and have a pop at rivals Manchester City – bookies’ favourites to sign Rooney - for being a “small” club.

“We back Sir Alex’s judgement as ever but our concern lies with the owners,” the MUST spokesman said. “They have saddled us with a huge debt and they are taking more and more money out of the club every season and the lack of net investment in the squad since they arrived is clear to all. They’ve bought players but are they like for like replacements in terms of the quality of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Roy Keane and Cristiano Ronaldo?”

“Our club is generating record revenues yet it appears we are unable to compete even with small clubs like Manchester City let alone Chelsea, Madrid and Barcelona. We know where the money is going and it has to stop. The question being asked by many fans is does the ambition of the owners match that of Rooney or indeed Manchester United supporters? On the evidence so far it would appear the answer is clearly not.

“The contrast could hardly be starker between the owners at Manchester City who are pumping millions into their club while the Glazers are leaching huge amounts out of ours. People talk about players being greedy with multimillion pounds contracts but those figures pale into insignificance compared with the hundreds of millions the Glazers have extracted from Manchester United through their takeover.”

A protest march against the Glazers is planned before the Tottenham game on 30 October.

well feck him let him go, we aint struggled to score goals this season so lets spend any cash we get on some midfield players and maybe a nother centre back.

Wow. How fickle can United fans be. They believe the stories coming out of a bunch of rags rather then their own personal belief in players. You'd think after the Vidic debacle many would fecking learn. Its a non story designed to increase circulation for fecks sake. Not one article even comes close to mentioning a real quote.

Oops!!

Hmmm

All the time Rooney plays for United, I will support him, If he tries hard and plays badly that is OK. When or If he leaves, the manner of his departure will determine what I think of him next. For example my views on Tevez, or Heinze are very different to my views on Beckham and others. If he leave's United in a way that shows disrespect to United and us the fans, then I could not give a toss what happens to him next. He hasn't left yet, most of what I have seen and read seems to be speculation, until I hear something definite, from him or Fergie and United, then he is a United player and deserves our support. If leaves for City, then I will be amongst the first to regard him in the say way Everton fans do.

SHIT got in from work, didn't see the interview from SAF, thought it was the usual over reaction to media crap. Looks like he is going in a manner that will leave a bad taste in the mouth. Bet the Toffees fans are not surprised.

MUST will use any and every situation to attack the owners everyone know this, its a shame really that on a day like this the first thing they think about is in essence blaming the glazers for Rooneys actions, not surprising but even so depressing.

In truth their a desperate bunch, have been for a while.

Man Utd Supporters Trust backing Fergie, but "our concern lies with the owners.Does their ambition match that of Rooney or indeed the fans?"

So MUST have come to the conclusion Rooney's leaving United due to 'lack of ambition'. I fecking hate the Glazers, but you can't fault them if the scouse twat wants to leave, especially if we offered him a big contract to stay.

He'll go the way of Gazza in all probability, his off field troubles will like Gazza ruin him, his family will leave him and he'll have no manager who cares enough to protect him from it happening, in essence he'll have ruined himself and his career just like gazza did, all out of greed.

I will reliterate what i have said before Rooney will be done by the time he is 28. When he retires like most English players we will talk about how great he could have been.

How the feck is this the Glazers' fault?!

I am shocked. We've truly seen the worst of Rooney and some sections of the supporters after today's press release.

M.U.S.T needs to get fecked. I am glad they have no part in the club's ownership or we'd be the next Leeds.

We're unable to compete with Manchester City for one reason, and one reason only. We have the bragging rights on everything else.
Unfortunately, that one reason is growing in important in modern day football, despite most players, like Wayne, having shed loads of it as it is.

Money doesn't make you happy, as they say.

Respect to Fergie 100%.

Handled that 100% brilliantly. Pulled a real rabbit out of the hat, because I for one would never have expected him to speak so honestly and candidly.

I fully expected "thats bullshit" kind of stuff, but he was open, honest and completely realistic.

Whatever the reasons are for him wanting out ( and I suspect its much to do with the issues in his private life again ) Fergie hasnt come out slating him, or made things worse.

For the first time in many years I think Fergie has shown a human side to him where players are concerned, and the look on his face suggested to me he feels really really let down by the way Rooney has acted.

Agree. I thought he handled with with class.

I subscibe to MUST. But this is the type of shit I dont care for.

Who the feck are MUST to tell SAF anything about who he wants in his fecking squad? Bunch of wankers them lot!

So MUST have come to the conclusion Rooney's leaving United due to 'lack of ambition'. I fecking hate the Glazers, but you can't fault them if the scouse twat wants to leave, especially if we offered him a big contract to stay.

All sum up my thoughts on it. It would have been a lot worse if Rooney went this summer instead of making himself look like a right cnut first though.

So, I don't know if that's the 200 k a week that has been talked about, but if so, why in the world does he want to leave, if we can pay I mean?

Maybe City offering him 500k maybe the fact that he can't deal with being the focal point of a team like your Totti's and Del Pieiro's he wants to be amongst stars it seems not just the star.

How can anyone really think that? For SAF to do what he did must show that there has been a huge breakdown between the club and Rooney, he said theres a offer on the table but Rooney hasnt even looked at it. I do believe for a player to do that must be indication that hes got a offer somewhere else and hes incline to go for it regardless of what United offer.

You're right Rooney has the next move but SAF has known for the last 2 months and today he came out saying what he said. Rooney had those 2 months to do something that indicated he wanted to stay but he hasnt. This situation is almost certain to end in Rooney leaving, the only question that remains is "for whom"

my point was thats its not impossible that both sides are simply playing hard ball in the negotiations, and whilst it was out of the public eye Rooney could tell united he wanted to leave everyday in the hope it would scare them into improving their offer, whilst united just sat there and thought 'Rooneys always said he'd never leave and wanted to end his career here he must be bluffing so we'll not budge' and no one on the outside was harmed

with the leaked stories this week from Rooneys people ramping up the pressure united have just gone one better with a perfectly delivered speech by the games greatest ever manager and by putting it out in the open Rooney's now got to put up or shut up. Its not impossible IMHO that he wants to stay and was merely following the advice of his money-grabbing agent by insisting he was serious about leaving in a bid to drive up his contract

Shits definately real now though, if he's genuine he may never play for us again

Basically handing Rooney his excuse on a platter.

They try to sue and silence United supporters, but they'll gladly help Rooney in his needed P.R. war as he heads off to City.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

When I read that he'd said to Colleen that going with a prostitute was no big deal, I thought that if that was a true, he was just a self-centred yob of the highest order. Didn't know if that was factual or not, but now I believe it.

He's a thick twat who isn't fit to wear the shirt, no matter how good he is. Great player (most of the time) but classless.

And if he is leaving because of the "lack of world class players" being brought in, then it proves he's just after money and glory. Stuff him.

I think it's more likely than not that Rooney will stay.

It's just a case of if he can get his mind straight in time, because if not then United will be forced to accept a transfer offer.

One thing is certain though I'd bet my last penny that he wouldn't join City, or any other PL club. He'll either look to escape abroad, or he'll stay put. Or he'll see out his contract and then retire, living out his days getting fat and shagging prostitutes.

He's not going to play for us again, unless he does some serious grovelling

For a start, it wouldn't be fair on the rest of the team, and Fergie's never put anyone ahead of the team, let alone someone who wants out anyway

Treat the club like shit then you aren't worthy of the shirt, Rooney has treated us like shit.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see that. He's having a torrid time, his form has dipped and he doesn't want to play for United. That's not someone treating a club like shit, that's someone who's having a torrid time and doesn't want to play for United. We're big boys and girls, there's loads of people out there who don't want to play for United, we'll get over him. At least he's being honest.

The door's still open for him so let's see if we can't change his mind or, if he goes abroad, wish him well.

I mean, if he goes to City all bets are off but that's just my two cents worth.
