MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

I've always thought Rooney was in Tevez's class - great but not world class

Bollocks. Anyone who now thinks that he isn't world class is knee-jerkingly, bitterly deluded.

If we'd have won the Champion's league and Premiership last season....and let's face it, we were very close to both....he'd have been World Player Of The Year.

I'm loving this I knew it was going to happen but no everyone else was convinced Rooney was a red for life....

I'm loving this I knew it was going to happen but no everyone else was convinced Rooney was a red for life....

Why would you love it though? Is it benefiting United?

Will Fergie hold on to Rooney one last full season like he did with Ronaldo?

Not a chance. Ronaldo still played for the team and didn't dick the team around. Rooney is the new Judas in my eyes.

I hope he twats off to City so Vidic can give him a studs up challenge to the groin.

ManUnitedYouth Hearing rumours that Rooney's 'people' are in talks
with one of the papers to tell his side of things. Would be a nice little earner, that.

Is he going out and said he can't work with Fergie and is being mistreated by the club like Tevez???

Let him go to the papers with a story - unless there's something major happened behind the scenes then he's little to gain by doing so......apart from money and well that will potentially highlight what is motivating him right now.

I don't think as a United fan i've ever felt like this before - it's a weird mix of feelings but the over riding feeling is one of anger. i feel betrayed which might sound a bit strong or much but it's true. He's had my support and i've done nothing but back him through everything and he's got the honour of playing for the worlds greatest club yet he goes and does this. If he'd been honest about it and come out and said he's looking for a new challenge then i could maybe understand it but to act this way infuriates me. the injury story and then the contract story have both come from him or his people and they've both been efforts to distance himself from the club in my view and he deserves nothing from our fans.

I feel for Sir Alex, i've not seen or heard him like that before and I think he genuinely feels let down and for somebody like Wayne Rooney to treat the greatest club manager of all time with such little respect means i'll never support the lad again, whether be backs down and signs a deal or playing for England - i'm done with him.

bbcsport_simon G balague interesting on sky.Says he's spoken to
top two men at real and they will not be bidding for #rooney. He says #mancity if anywhere

:nervous:

I'm loving this I knew it was going to happen but no everyone else was convinced Rooney was a red for life....

bullshit.

how could you have known this would happen, everyone thought he would stay at united forever because he said he wanted to stay at united forever.

Your cynical guess came off, WOW, now feck off.

This was actually when Coleen was pregnant which would put it sometime last September?
It did not really affect his performance till March.

It'll be really interesting to hear his side of the story because it's hard to imagine how he could change his view so drastically in 6 months after wanting to "stay for life" in March

I don't want to get into the exact details of his love life, I really don't care and it's not important. But it's safe to say he has problems, and problems take time to evolve and affect people in different ways.

He's had nothing but support up to now, showing him more will change nothing

Alright Moztradamus.

Definitely has with the fans

Apparently so but it needn't imo.

The difference between the Rooney saga and the Ronaldo saga, it seems to me at least, is that Rooney's "team"/agent/advisors went to the press. Ronaldo's agent/"team" never did that as far as I'm aware (apart from his fecking Mum). It was obvious Ronaldo wanted to leave but he was always kept his silence and respected the club in public. To me, Rooney has so far done the same, and I'll treat him with respect so long as that's the case and so long as he doesn't join another PL rival. If he fecks off to Spain or Italy then honestly I wouldn't begrudge Rooney much because it's obviously a case of getting away from the spotlight on him in Britain.

What a great read that will be:

"United were always good to me but once they told me shagging a hooker behind my pregant wifes back was bad i knew i had to get out" - Prick

He wanted out before that, so it's obviously about the money. He saw what Tevez was making and wanted the same or more.

Can we have this played on the loudspeakers tomorrow somehow -

"He a star now, but he ain't singing it from the heart
Sooner or later it's just gonna fall apart
...'Cause his fans can't relate to his new-found art.
He ain't doing what he did from the start
and that's putting in some feeling and thought
He decided to live his life shallow
Cash in his love for material
And its GONE, GOING ... GONE. " - Jack Johnson

The thing is SAF has never gone so public about contract negotiations etc. before. Even when Keane left he was defending him in a press conference the morning that Keane was sacked.

Either SAF is trying to call his bluff or is deeply hurt by the saga. I reckon its more the latter.

ONE of the escort girls who romped with Wayne Rooney said last night he realised his Manchester United career was over as soon as he finished the threesome.
Helen Wood, 23, said he knew he had made a terrible mistake immediately after the ten-minute session with her and fellow vice girl Jenny Thompson, 21. The three got together at Manchester's Lowry Hotel in July last year when his wife Coleen was pregnant with their son Kai.

Helen said: "He sat on the edge of the bed looking glum. He said, 'I don't know why I've done it because I feel like s*** already.

"He said, 'I'm married' and was looking forward to the baby and said that it meant everything to him.

"He was really worried and said, 'S***, my wife is pregnant' but he was also concerned about his career.

"Most men don't worry about their career if they're cheating but because he's so famous he had double trouble. For ten minutes of fun he's thrown away his career. "His football has gone off the boil and all the fans are finding it easy to put the blame on him."

This did make me laugh!

Why would we want a player whp performs for only 10 mins?

I'll be honest between Jan and March Rooney was what i would call world class, to put it simiply he was brilliant but if you look at the whole season can you say he was world class? I wouldnt, he was great but not world class. In my opinion world class attackers are people who consistantly do the unpredicted something the likes of Ronaldo and Messi do week in week out, Rooney if anything is similar to a machine. Its not knee-jerk i've always thought it.

He had a good season last but again would i call it world class? I thought Xavi and Snijder were world class and their teams actually did win the league and in inters case the UCL

Also, can we put to rest the absolute fabricated crap that Sir Alex Ferguson lied about Rooney being injured but he was really absolutely fine. His ankle hasn't been right since Bayern Munich.

:lol::lol:

seems like not only is ronnie twice the player, but twice the man.

Heartbroke really. All those memories are ruined. It's not like Ronaldo, we thought Rooney really meant it when he kissed the badge after all those goals. I watched all of his goals in the shirt and prayed that I wouldn't be bitter if it was true. Well I can't not be.

I'm worried about the club but more importantly I'm worried about Fergie. He's poured so much into Ronaldo and Rooney and he's gotten absolutely feck all from it in the long run. It's going to make him jaded and I worry it's going to make him walk earlier. I wouldn't blame him.

Money really is the root of all evil.

Real are in hunt for a striker definitely, they wanted a dozen of strikers last Summer but couldn't land any - they'll try to get Rooney no doubt, but seeing as he doesn't have much left on his current deal and wants out, they won't go above £40m.

What a load of tripe, that BS would work if SAF was throwing him out of the club but not when he's walking.
