MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

If he goes to City, I hope we screw them for as much as we can.

It would actually be interesting to see how many on here would actually want him to stay after all this and the way hes treated the club, whod take him back?

Personally he can rot as far as im concerned, feck him, hope he plays 1 more game for the club in front of a packed old trafford and gets ripped to pieces the disloyal money grabbing prick.

You're bang on the money there. One last farewell to the bald cnut, if he thinks Everton fans give it out good... he ain't seen nothing yet

I'd keep him till his contract ends and let him go on a free, having played no football for over a year.

Not good business sense I know.

Ok, explain something.

You'd like to believe the manager about what exactly?

I'll try once more....pay attention....

ALL WE KNOW SO FAR IS THAT SAF HAS SAID THAT ROONEY WANTS TO LEAVE....NOTHING ELSE.

So yeah, i believe SAF when he says that Rooney wants to leave. Of course i do. No reason not to.

But everyone talking about "Nobody is bigger than the club" is completely unfounded because we don't know anything else that would remotely suggest that he thinks he is.

Understand?

Watch the MUTV interview. SAF basically said that he had disrespected the club: "Which, I don't know if he's done that (respected the club)" -- It's enough for most fans.

A player who says he wants to leave the club at the beginning of a season, but gives no explanation as to why, must think he's bigger than the club.

How do you conclude that then? Serious question.

I'm not trying to sit on any side of the fence here (because i don't yet know enough to make a decision) i'm just playing devil's advocate. I'd back SAF over any player and completely agree that no individual is bigger than the club....but are you really so naive as to think that all that has been said between the boss and the player on the matter in all that time is that he wants to leave and absolutely nothing else? I seriously doubt it myself. There is definitely stuff that the gaffer isn't saying. It's one of his biggest mantras. What happens inside the club stays inside the club. Why would this change?

Again, until we have a bit more information to go on than just that Rooney wants out then to say that he thinks he is bigger than the club is ridiculous.

Surely it's about respect.

If he wants to go, he should approach the manager, discuss it with him, and tell him his reasons.

Not just say he wants to go with no explanation, which Fergie claims. If we hear nothing to the contrary from Wayne in the next few days, we can probably take that as read.

I'm fully aware that I'm in denial, but can I just say this is one big fat joke that those two came up with in between training sessions? :( Pretty pretty please with a bow?

As i said, i sincerely doubt that the only dialogue on the matter during all this time has been Rooney saying he wants to go. Do you?

Unfortunately UEFA rules dont allow us to do that, but yeah that would be enjoyable to watch.

Do UEFA dictate that a player must play ahead of other players if he's not in form?

Its something about a player having to play at least 10% of a clubs calendar year fixtures otherwise hes free to leave under some certain ruling, not sure exactly how it works it was being discussed on twitter earlier when what you suggested was mentioned.

KaiWayne Daddy is asking me which club I think would suit him best. I said a big fecking 3-wood, wrapped right round your stupid fat head

He always makes you laugh :D

It would have to be the most clear cut case of tapping up, and we should go after City for it.

Agreed. Verbal or not. Might not stick in a court of law, but could really damage City's reputation.

Let him speak first and give his side before you get that angry.

what if he and his camp maintain silence and don't say anything?

what about your great white knight then?

We don't owe Wayne anything. Especially not after everything that has transpired.

I did defend Tevez when he showed a lack of Loyalty, but for me he had reason and justification. With Rooney I don't even understand his motives or reason, his betrayal is far far worse in my opinion!

Jeepers mate good to hear from you where have you been?

I kinda agree with this, and I think Brocky In Black is speaking some sense as well.

I understand everyone else's anger, I'm personally more saddened by all of this. feckin' hell it's our Rooney. Make no mistake though, if he actually joins City I'll despise him as much as anyone.

I'm not really defending him, I just think I'll wait and see what he says and which club he moves to before I form judgments. Even if he doesn't explain himself personally, I think the next club he decides to sign for will tell us a lot about him.

I think it's a tremendously sad day for United but I also think Rooney's played for United for 6 years already, has got married too early as well, and at 24 he may not have long at the top left because of his physique. He could be leaving for legitimate reasons... Or he could even decide to stay yet.

I wouldn't waste the energy trying to make people realise. They've already got the gallows out and are hot for a hanging despite knowing feck all.

Just like with Beckham and Ronaldo.

When more of the story comes out, IF it shows Rooney in a more positive light, it's likely they'll all do another U-turn and try to deny that they ever thought such things.

Football fans, bloody hell.

Apologies if this point has already been brought up (I havent read through all 50+ pages on here and have been umm... away for a couple of days) but if we knew mid-August that Rooney deffo wanted out, why didn't we sell him and get someone in while we had the chance?

Now it looks like we have a sulky arsed player with us until January when we could have had someone who actually wants to play for us.

The January window is all well and good but it is likely that whoever we get won't be eligible for CL football and we will probably get less for Rooney than we would have done in the Summer.

Wouldn't be hard to do, at most we play about 60 games a season, one minute cameos in the league cup, fa cup and cl dead rubbers would probably equal 10%.

Have him train with the kids and keep ordering pizzas to his house.

feck off Kia

He's right though. Right or wrong, we could come up with a reason for Tevez wanting to leave - especially as he had said he wanted to stay, even though he chucked his dummy out of the pram because we didn't ask him quick enough.

What justification has Rooney got? Tevez might have had a small case. (Or big to some people). Rooney hasn't even got a small washbag.
