MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

He's an idiot, he doesn't know Manchester United history and he has no respect for Ferguson.

Anyone who agrees with Rooney is an idiot too. sorry.

And anyone who agrees with David Gill is a bigger fecking idiot.

Basically what I'm getting from his statement is that he's like a bad glory hunting fan - during the good years he's raving on about how he loves the club and wants to be there forever, and now we've hit a relative fallow patch (a season during which we still managed to win a trophy, more than Arsenal, Liverpool or Shitty achieved) he wants out.

I just hate people that fail to have a view of both sides of the arguememnt we are club that lies.... Yes players lie!!! But seriously look at both sides of the arguement!! A player that is arguable one of the best players in the world has every right to ask who is coming in.. Where are the 1st teamers?

So a team which came 2nd by a point last year and strengthened is not good enough for him? Really?!

The same Rooney who played through our rubbish sides of 2004-2006 and won a sum total of one Carling Cup. And he thinks this side does not match his ambition ? Wow

Embarrassing how supposed United supporters are believing the cnut. It's as clear as day that his 'team' has used the doubt around Gill/The debt and the Glazers as a way of getting him out of the money grabbing cnut abuse.

Times like these show why a transfer window is ridiculous, if only he could be shipped out tomorrow.

What a lame excuse!

We have been top for the last 4 years or so, one of the best teams in Europe

Indeed...Odd that Fergie said August but Rooney says last week...around the time all this nonsense about being frozen out/not having an injury etc etc started coming out

...Of course it is. He's trying to get the fans on his side by using fan unrest at the state of the finances (the only thing that he could possibly use) to cover the fact he wants to be on 250k and has absolutely zero loyalty or respect for the club he's won everything with for the last 6 years.

The sad thing is some will fall for it just so they can start shouting about Glazer again...This is ALL about Rooney.

Totally agree with this. It was quite predictable this was the route they'd take really. I wonder what SAF will say tonight.

Glazers will now probably have to put their money where Gills mouth has been though. If we don't spend after this then it will be a clear signal for other players as well. Whether Rooney is right or wrong (and he might be right, even though I don't think that is the reason for leaving) the owners must feel some pressure to splash some cash right about January.

in a perfect world its all a ploy to get the Glazers to do just that. Orchestrated by Gill, Fergie…Rooney…ect.

So here's the million dollar (theoretical) question then:

If we somehow signed a couple of big names in the near future, would he suddenly become convinced of our ambition? Or would he just rely on the old 'There's no turning back, it's gone too far' line and bank his 300k a week?

The answer's the second one, in case you were wondering.

I hope he fecks off and we win a shit load of trophies after he goes. Lost all respect for him.

I have so much respect for Torres right now. He's in a sinking ship, one that didnt even mould him to be what he is, one which is not even close to winning trophies, one where he hasnt enjoyed an iota of success and could probably command whatever wages he desires elsewhere. But still decides to stick with them. Amazingly enough, he's the one looking better than this fat ungrateful prick who after being given so much still decides to act like this.

The thing here is Rooneys camp have pulled a blinder here.

They have targetted the one person that many United fans distrust the most. David Gill.

They are clearly saying that its not an issue with Fergie, that its the promises being made by David Gill that are not convincing enough.

David Gill has openly said the money is there for Fergie. Fergie has in his defence taken Gills word for it and relayed that on.

Now somewhere along the line, Rooney has sat with GIll, and what GIll has said to Rooney doesnt match what he's told Fergie, and more importantly, it doesnt match what he's told US.

Blinder? I think you are assuming most of the fans are retards...

He should just feck off now.

If he really "respects" MUFC as much as he said he did he's going to look even more stupid when he's holding a City jersey in Jan

So 3 leagues in a row. 2 UCL finals and a win. We finish 2nd and he's fecking off? feck him.

Embarrassing how supposed United supporters are believing the cnut.

I find it quite amusing how the posters who are willing to buy this nonsense of a statement are also mainly the ones who always hangs around in the Transfer Forum, complaining about us not signing big names.

Muppets.

But what he's saying is that this problem is down to DAVID GILL.

Not Fergie, not the team, not the club.

He has landed the blame firmly at David Gills door, saying that Gill couldnt convince him that the funds were there to sustain a serious challenge.

Now I want David Gill to come out and tell us all exactly what was said in that meeting, because I have this sneaky feeling that we are stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

We have a greedy fat cnut demanding more money, and a lying cnut trying to convince us all we have that money when we dont.

Rooney in May: "If we can bring in 2 big-name players in it would give us a good chance of getting the League back."

Obviously he's thought about this for quite a while.

I just thought he wouldn't be as fickle as this to leave us in such a manner. Even Gerrard had gone through worse and stuck with Liverpool, in spite of him nearly signing for Chelsea.

I guess there is no way back.

Pretty much the case really. Theres not really any holes here, he wanted investment, didn't happen, he told them he wanted to leave, 2 YEARS before he could pull a Sol Campbell.

Players have treated their teams FAR worse over the years to join us for the exact same reasons pretty much, ESPECIALLY Berbatov.

Anyone buying that bullshit ambition line is either kidding themselves or a redknight/Must memeber, (i can see MUST rubbing their hands together after what Rooneys just said by the way, dream come true for them any excuse to attack the Glazers)

Rooneys been tapped up and told he'll be paid ludicrous sums of money by the arab, plain and simple, ambition my arse this United team was a solitary point away from winning 4 league titles on the bounce less than 4 months ago and consistently reaches the latter stages of the champions league, fecking City cant even get into the champions league and finished miles behind this United squad last season.

Its all about £££ and anyone who thinks otherwise i feel sorry you've bought his bullshit.

I take back what I said about him yesterday now - no chance he's staying. I wanted to hear his side of the story before being fully convinced he was leaving, now there is no doubt. Shame on you Wayne, I have to say. 2 months into the season and you're walking out on us. If you had waited till the end of the season, I may have forgiven you, but this is unacceptable, far worse than Heinze, Tevez, Ronaldo.

I loved you Wayne, we could've been together, think about it. You ruined it now, I hope you can't sleep and you dream about it. When you dream I hope you can't sleep and you SCREAM about it. I hope your conscience EATS AT YOU and you can't BREATHE without us.

So Rooney has effectively walked out on the club two months into a season, that's utterly without precedent. Can you think of any other first choice player in world football who, in October, has announced he can never play for his club again? It's beyond disgraceful.

As for his lies, we've never "attracted the top players in the world" you stupid, greedy, selfish, short-sighted, deceitful little cnut. We make them, and he was the latest. And we finished 1 fecking point off the title, did Chelsea's big names throw tantrums after they finished no way near the title and their only signing was a reserve left-back? Did they feck, they buckled down and won the double, Rooney is utterly full of shit. This isn't personal reasons after all, and that was the only possible excuse. It's money, clear as day.

This need quoting. In large text.

Rooney's treading new ground here. Loads of examples of players who fancied a move, whether for a better chance of a trophy, or a fatter contract (Torres and Fabregas spring to mind) but this is the first time any footballer has ever tried to bully the club/manager into giving him what he wants with such a public display of dissent. Fergie can't ever pick him again after this. He's been astonishingly disrespectful to his manager and his team-mates. There's no way he can start another game.

I couldn't give a feck about whether there's any truth to his alleged reasons for wanting to leave (and there might well be) but the way he's going about it is setting a new low.

And he's doing all this immediately after spending the summer letting down his country and disgracing his family?

Absolutely despicable human being. Scum of the earth. I hope he's shown the door tomorrow. Don't give a feck whether we get any money for him or not. Not fit to wear the shirt.

As if !! Get a grip - Stretford has concocted this statement knowing that the lack of investment does hit a raw nerve with United fans.

Club

Premier League (3): 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09
League Cup (2): 2005–06, 2009–10
FA Community Shield (2): 2007, 2010
UEFA Champions League (1): 2007–08
FIFA Club World Cup (1): 2008

Ungrateful lying cnut.

So as expected and some of us said yesterday, he is basically trying to fool fans back on his side. It shouldn't work, but unfortunately because of the leeches in charge and the feelings towards them, it will and already is.

He's trying to use us, don't let him. This is entirely about money, we'll see that when he rocks up at City.

Well he is a money hungry git and theres no doubt that he is using this as an excuse as he has no other options.
However, we didnt see any scholes, gigs, van der sar replacements coming in this season and it would have made sense to buy one rather than them all at the same time next year and try to bed in a lot of new heads.
So we are obvioulsy fecked money wise. Dark days ahead Id say. Ill still cheer them on mind!!

surely no one with even half a neurone is falling for it are they ?

Obviously some are..supposedly they've played a blinder.

If he cared, why hasn't he spoken out about the investment? Torres and Gerrard did at Liverpool...He didn't have to declare war, but he could have at some point in the last 2 years said

"United is the biggest club in this country, and one of the biggest in the world, but we have to make sure we keep investing in the very best players to ensure we maintain that status, with clubs around us, such as Chelsea and City spending a lot of money."

That is all he had to say, and if Fergie had thrown him out, the fans would have serenaded him to any club of his choice... Instead he said nothing, once he saw the reaction the Fergie shot across the bow got, his team have gone...ohh sh*t.

Let's talk about investments...yup that'll work.

What a load of toss. Maybe he'll contract HIV from his romps with hookers and we can all laugh at him as he wastes away.

No one is bigger than the club, maybe SAF made a mistake in Rooney because he backed him so feverishly that Rooney thought he could get away with asking for things other players wouldn't dare.

Tevez looks like a Saint in comparison.
