MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Paul Stretford is the main problem in my opinion. He's a thoroughly disgusting human being. He probably lost money when Rooney lost sponsorship and is searching for how to get it back from his cash cow.

You're right to a point, but a good portion of this is to blame at Stretford. Unless you have your own personal jet, you could not fecking spend 45,000 quid a week even if you tried. I mean unless your snorting coke, fecking 1200 quid prossies every night, buying palets of 30 year old wine, staying in the most expensive room at the Hilton and eating gold plated steaks, you could not do it an even then you'd struggle to hit 30 odd. And stretford wants 150,000 quid a week after tax :wenger:

The fecking audacity of players too demand this kind of money is an absolute joke. That is 5 times what most people earn in a year per week.

Those people don't make their respective businesses hundreds of millions in revenue, if they did you can bet your arse they would be wanting a payrise.

I never get the argument of footballers don't deserve their wages. Any person who earns their company massive massive massive massive massive money is entitled to a share of it. If they happen to earn such a massive amount of money for their company that their own share ends up being massive, then so what, it has feck all to do with the person who earns his company nothing and therefore doesn't get paid as much.

However, I do have a problem with the way he is treating the club through not getting what he wants. Being a brat and a cnut is different and throwing his toys out of the pram shows where his loyalties lie, if he wants more money then fair play. If he wants to be a dick about it when he doesn't get his own way then he can do and he's already seen the reaction that it's got him.

I bet he's wishing he never said anything in the first place.

You're right. United and Arsenal are right to stand up against overpaid greedy footballers.

Stretford can't do anything without the approval of Rooney. There is one person to blame for this mess, and it's not the agent.

Rooney's just released a statement, said he wants to play in a different League next season. Liverpool have bid £30m.

I'm aware this has probably been posted before

I like the "it's not greed, just look at the clothes he wears for proof of that" part

A big marquee is being erected at Rooneys mansion in readiness for Rooneys birthday party. O'Shea, Carrick and Brown were invited to the wedding so I wonder if they will be there on Sunday.

Exactly, the agent may have some control over his life ie talking to possible clubs about a move and personal terms but when he presents that to his client his client is the one that agrees and says "yeah thats for me". Also i dont think Stretford would go around talking to clubs on his own, he probably had the go ahead in the first place by Rooney.

But if you dont want to believe that then Stretford could have started it all by saying you could get more money from other clubs, i've talked to ... but at the end of it Rooney was the one that approved it

Yes they can. They drop subtle hints to the press and deny it was them, these people aren't silly, if they want to create this type of thing, they know exactly how to do it without looking bad to the player, they know how to make one club/manager look weak and another an other look a more promising destination. Agents have more power than anyone in todays game, just like they do in Hollywood.

Agents are the greedy people in the industry, and the bad ones know exactly twist everything to their favour, not only do they get cuts of the transfer, they also get as much as 20% of the wages, so trying to push your player from 120k to 250k is a bigger to them than probably the player.

Ok guys, could be on to something big here. Dont shoot the messenger, this could be bollocks. Just saying what i've heard.

My mate called me there to say that Rooneys announced to the players 10 minutes ago in training that he's staying. His sister in law is only after receiving a text from Corry Evans who she's very close friends with.

Thats all i've heard. As i say could be bollocks! I'll be prepared to take all the abuse if it is. We'll see what materialises.

They don't make the decisions. Rooney does. This is not complicated.

Sounds like bollocks.

I hope it's not true.

What you're saying is that he's off then.

If that's true I'm disgusted. You never ever let employees dictate terms in the way Rooney has. It sets a dangerous precedent and the Club will be a laughing stock.

Sorry but that sounds like a load of rubbish. I'm sure you understand the scepticism of such a story?

I can confirm this as I was cutting the lawn and over heard him say he is staying.

Are you a professional player with an agent?

If not, you don't have a clue either then.

I wouldn't need to be a professional player or agent to know how agents work. Players have a closer relationship with their agent than anyone else in the football world(barring maybe one or two youth players they've grown up with), and agents are incredibly smart, they know how to twist anything to their favour.

Don't kid yourself if you think they aren't behind most decisions made.

Much as I love Roo, he doesn't deserve the money he asked for:nono:, it would be unwise to set precedents in paying that kind of money:nono: and it was an extremely bad move of him and his agent to release the most recent statement to the media.:wenger:

I believe him to an extent where he has talked about the spending issues of United. However, if he can't see that United is pretty well hamstrung by its debts and asking for more money for himself and new big names is just going to lead United more up shitcreek, then I'd be fine with him going.

I thought Patrice Evra spoke articulately and wisely in the article on the Telegraph's website.

I honestly think Rooney has lots of personal issues to deal with and that's why his performance has been mediocre for much of this year. It's not Man United, it's him. He probably needs to go to a European league and get the hell out of the UK to someplace where his extra marital activities won't be interesting to the media.

It's back on lads. IT'S. BACK. ON.

Rio just tweeted that 'it's a beautiful day'. Rooney's staying. Long live the king.

Actually....what's the weather like in Manc?

Clearly Rooney's PR team represent him. To argue that Wayne might not have endorsed or agreed to those comments, or the words that came out of his mouth is absurd.
