MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

I hope to god he doesn't stay.

And all this bollocks that it's down to Stretford, some people need to get a grip and stop trying to absolve Rooney of the blame as much as possible. It's down to the cuntishness of Rooney at the end of the day.

It's back on lads. IT'S. BACK. ON.

Rio just tweeted that 'it's a beautiful day'. Rooney's staying. Long live the king.

Actually....what's the weather like in Manc?

Weather is a long way from beautiful here, was pissing down this morning.

Also he tweeted question time, ask me anything ANYTHING but not before Monday AM.

Bold move, he KNOWS people will bombard him with Rooney yet is okay to answer it from Monday?

I can confirm this as I was cutting the lawn and over heard him say he is staying.

Your hearing must be out of this world if you can cut a lawn in Australia and hear stuff being said in Manchester

badgerwolf Roo has been at Carrington training today. Interesting as would think SAF would separate him IF he was leaving. Would be a disruptive force

I thought you had done a u-turn there till I saw the '86'.

I would be embarrassed if Rooney stayed now! Honestly, because i have not backed him at all in this saga and he's burnt all his bridges. The scenario is very reminiscent of that of Gerrard when he left Liverpool.
The fans protested went nuts, Gerrard performed a Uturn and
"Steven Gerrard Gerrard...He kisses the badge on his chest...hands in a transfer request....steven Gerrard Gerrard"

Would be very hypocritical to mutter that line if Rooney stayed. Theres a pride factor to this as well

Can't see him staying, can not see myself supporting him if he does either.

Don't shot the messenger but Sky bet have cut him to 1/2 to stay. He was 2/5 to go last night, strange

Who makes the decisions? Rooney, or Stretford? I require a one word response from you.

Are you lonely or something?

You've never discussed things with fellow professionals(or family I guess) and they've had an effect on your decisions? Because I know I have changed my mind on after discussing it and I wouldn't trust any of these as much as Rooney trusts Stretford, whos been there with him since he's been 15.

So because Rooney trusts Stetford, he allows him to release statements and information, that have made him enemy number one, on his behalf without Wayne having the final say?

#CallCollymore - Betting suspended on Rooney staying at United.

Interesting.. A lot of noises along these lines coming out now - Rooney at training, text from Corry () and this.

We'll see!

As everyone's posted here :

unitedrant Bookies suspend betting on Rooney staying. MIB 'word'
with Rooney doing the job then! #mufc

badgerwolf Significant developments. Bookies have suspended
betting that Rooney will STAY at United. Something has leaked to them

If that's true I'm disgusted. You never ever let employees dictate terms in the way Rooney has. It sets a dangerous precedent and the Club will be a laughing stock.

See I don't see it this way. I don't want him to stay, but if he does I see it as being comprehensively beaten by Fergie.

If this was actually initially over a contract, he wouldn't have come out and made all the overtures about leaving. He'd know the reaction. His camp wouldn't have leaked the not signing bit, he wouldn't have made his statement which was very deliberately made in the past sense "I will always owe sir Alex who's helped me etc etc"...He was excusing leaving.

If he stays however, I see it as fan power, mixed with Fergie power fecking over player power.

Ferguson made him look a right dick and exposed him - Him and Streford imagined he'd do what he always does, bat away questions grumpily, maybe actually fall out with the player and give Wayne the excuse he originally went for (the breakdown)....instead what happened was the football world turned on him and he realised his legacy and image was crumbling. He's stuck between a rock and a hard place and has to grovel now to win back support. He's been chastised.

That's how I'd see it anyway....I could be being optimistic.
