MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

The people on here crying about him signing are clearly not thinking right. At least now we can sell him for a huge sum if Fergie wants to sell, however I think he's staying.

Boss? no racist.

i have gone from being saddened by this saga to being delighted

I think he will stay, if he does what are 99% of the forum supposed to do then? Support one player less then the rest? Do a u turn of their own? Say 'he's still a cnut but our cnut' or some other mindless babble? Decisions, decisions...

I may criticise him from time to time, but what the feck would this club be if it were not for Fergie.

Those cnuts owning the club would be toast if it werent for him.

Rio, you sneaky.

So now we know. SAF decided to bring the situation to a head before the contract clock ticked down too far and it worked. Tactical masterstroke!

So when Mourinho said: I'm sure the big man will bring him round - maybe he could see it coming, maybe he knew.

Well done Wayne for not jumping over the cliff edge. I hope you pushed Stretford off it while you were dancing around out there.

How dare he take a bit of time to assess his future. How dare he express his concern about the direction the club is going in. How dare he. And at a time when he is struggling mentally, has marital problems, is out of form for club and country, carrying the burden of expectation. What a cnut!

He is!!

he never just expressed concern. He asked to fecking leave and the said the club never matched his ambition!!!!

This was all done so United offered him the insane terms he wanted.

He's a cnut, simple as that.

I'm glad and pissed off at the same time.

feck off Wayne, you thick scouse Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime!

Let's hope this is a massive turning point and a wake up call now, for the player and the team - let's play like United now, siege mentality.

I think its more publicly contradicting the manager and questioning the club that people have a problem with.

I know if I behaved like Rooney has in my job my feet wouldn't touch the ground.

Aye.

Best manager in the business.

Excellent news. I suspect thicko had some sense knocked into him.

I'm a tad happy.

Me too.

He's acted very, very foolish, but he now has the opportunity to make it up to us.

Hopefully this is the start of a sensible Wayne. No more fecking around, no more slags, just concentrate on your life and football. O and stop smoking.

Win us back Wayne. Good luck.

Welcome to football..

And you wonder why some of us really are getting to the point where we dont give a feck anymore.

I think I'm nearing that point myself...and I haven't even hit my twenties :(

Well one good thing came out of this:

Thank feck I can use Rooney on fifa again :D Bad news for my mate

I suspect it makes footballing and financial sense to keep him at United. Selling your poster boy on the cheap wasn't a good option.

Back to being world class, one of the best players in the world..

I should happier with this news but I'm not. What happens if we win feck all this season. Again, he'll want out citing the young players aren't as good as Fergie thinks they are.

Wayne Rooney, Rooney
He kisses the badge on his chest
then hands in a transfer request
Wayne Rooney, Rooney

Odd way of doing things. Will take him a while to win over our fans imo. He needs to get on the pitch and score, score and score.

“I’m signing a new deal in the absolute belief that the management, coaching staff, board and owners are totally committed to making sure United maintains its proud winning history – which is the reason I joined the Club in the first place."

So that's it. Messi, Sneijder, Xavi, Aguero and Pato in the summer :D
