Gooner
He was one of at Madrid. Hasnt done enough with us to maintain that tag.
Because...?Silva isn't combative or someone capable of putting his foot in.
He is a better and more versatile #10 than Özil though.
It's not bollocks at all, it's absolutely spot on. There's no better 10 in the world in the final third, his movement, passing, intelligence, awareness is just utterly breathtaking. I've not seen anyone mention how he was the one who creates Arsenals first goal against us yet, that's an example of his subtle qualities. Out of interest, who's better than him do you think?
You think "in the final third" is bizarre? Where do you want your 10's to best operate then? Which 10's are better than Oezil?Ozil is a precious player who is alright for his 'subtleties' at home but there's no chance in hell he's anywhere near the best #10, even with bizarre caveats like 'in the final third'.
Switch it the other way - what's the difference between 'final third #10' and a regular #10?You think "in the final third" is bizarre? Where do you want your 10's to best operate then? Which 10's are better than Oezil?
Mata isn't unfortunately, he's not comfortable under pressure in dangerous areas. You'll often find him play one twos with his back to goal to the receive the ball deeper on the right hand side, so he has space on his left foot.Silva, without doubt.
I'd also take Fabregas as a number 10 over Ozil.
Mata is better too. Just a shame he doesn't get a chance in the hole for United.
There isn't any difference in terms of general positional sense, but I never said there was anyway. The differences lies with how they operate within that area, which I explained in my last post.Switch it the other way - what's the difference between 'final third #10' and a regular #10?

With regards to Fabregas, has he ever done much in big games this season considering that point has been brought up? He's better infront of goal and makes some brilliant third man runs, but I'm not sure he works as hard as Mesut to create space for his team mates.
Silva is an incredibly intelligent midfielder and I love watching his intricate passing in tight spaces, and he's fantastic and working overloads for the full back. Sadly, he's even more of a bottler infront of goal than Oezil and doesn't have such a well rounded passing range as Mesut, in my opinion.
I really do think Oezil is the most complete out of the three. His awareness of his team mates and his movement to bring them into play is incredible. He makes runs in behind the striker to support Giroud, he has the vision around the area to play quick, intricate football and passing is incredibly slick and crisp which not only makes it easier for his recurve to control the ball, it gives them more time on it too.
I think if you put Oezil in a title winning side, his quality would be a lot more obvious to everyone, just like it was when he was at Madrid.
I didn't. Someone brought up Oezils big game contribution and then I compared it to Fabregas, after giving examples of how Oezil has faired on the biggest stage. You bring up Fabregas's lack of big game contribution as an issue when you are comparing him to Ozil. Are you on a wum?

Yes, massively. Do you not watch City? Do you not see how hesitant Silva is in goal scoring positions?Silva's a bottler in front of goal?
He has 9 in his last 16 and a better career record than Ozil.
No he wouldn't, he'd be even more exposed given the gulf in quality around him.If you put Titus Bramble in a title winning side, he'd a look a lot better as well.
It's not very obvious right now because Ozil isn't actually doing much. Even yesterday, Giroud's link up play in and around the box was a step above Ozil's.
Also Cazorla is someone who deserves to be discussed when we are talking about #10's. Second only to Silva in the league for me.
Silva, without doubt.

He is.Mata is not.
He can't even get a game ahead of FellainiHe is.
Santi is better than both.Don't think Ozil is best in the world and hasn't had a good case for the last few years but he's obviously better than Mata.
You rate Coutinho far too highly. I think you mentioned he's better than Sterling in another thread.I think Mata is better, or at least on the same level. I'd have Coutinho over either of them.

I do think he's better than Sterling. Just my opinion, but I think some Liverpool fans might agree (not sure tbh) @Barney what you think?
He is.
It's one of Lukaku's concrete edition.thats a really big shoe
