I think it was a good first half. We are controlling the play, although not creating many chances but then thats more due to Boro's defense than our attack IMO.

Fletcher is having a great game IMO showing good speed and control and Fortune too is playing well and derserves the goal although credit has gone to Mills for an own goal on the deflection. Fortune danced around Menieta at the edge of the box before firing on net.
After about 30 minutes of domination by United, boro came back into the game a bit with United getting a bit slack . . . a few passes going astray and putting ourselves under more pressure than boro deserved.
The referee has made a number of odd calls against both teams but has got boro really riled up as the end of the first half ended. The bad news is that Keano has taken a knock making a good tackle. (that the boro players took exception to) I hope it isn't his knee again but he fell awkwardly . . . we'll have to see how he does in the 2nd half

Even down to ten men we looked more like scoring than they did and Scholesy almost pulled it off with a great move into the box passed two boro defenders before the ball came back to Giggs who looked a little slow reacting and the ball carommed (sp?) off another defender.
After that it was the United defense that stood solid and really never looked uncomfortable. Boring but a tremendous 3 points, well earned & well deserved.

Must say though that the referee was terrible. Never a second yellow for Fletch, feck the first shouldn't have been either. Free kicks for non-incidents and no free kicks for obvious fouls. Just a terrible referee.
