We seem to be doing a lot of business with Mino Raiola as of late with the imminent signings of Zlatan Ibrahamovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan whilst we seem to constantly be linked with another of his clients in Gregory Van Der Weil, Mino Raiola also happens to be the agent of a certain Paul Pogba too.

Is this a great transfer policy going forward where we cosy up to an agent and sign his clients ? Obviously I know a lot about Zlatan going back to his Ajax days but don't know a great deal about Henrikh Mkhitaryan, could this set up also see us snare Pogba ?

Agents are important nowadays. You have to cosy up to them otherwise you do not get players that are in demand.

If Fergie had done the same with Hazards agent and we would have got him.
 
Don't think it's a good idea to get too deep with one agent. We got Bébé from one of our "regular" agents? Mino Raiola seems to be a great agent for his client, and his client are the players.
 
It's obviously better to be on good terms with powerful agents, something we have tried to deny for a very long time.
 
His clientele isn't good enough to look at this as anything more than isolated deals. He isn't someone like mendes who controls a lot of players and even future talents.

Doubt there are many WWE fans about here, but he reminds me of Paul Heyman. Brock Lesnar is Paul Pogba. Ibrahimovic is CM Punk

Matuidi is at a stage now every he'll end his career at PSG, or atleast the peak stage of it. With DDG here, donnarumma isn't worth buttering raiola up for, he's just a talented kid. Hamsik is past the stage where he could have got a big move. Just leaves pogba and lukaku. Not enough to get in bed with him.

Didn't look like Fergie missed Hazard tbh. Moreover there is a strong case to suggest agents cause more headaches than convenience - especially considering how easily mercenary players are flogged between clubs.

Background should be that Mkhitaryan plays only a minor role in Raiolas shops.Manchester United's new coach Jose Mourinho is reportedly two other of Raiolas proteges, the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Frenchman Paul Pogba pilot, necessarily to England. Mkhitaryan to be something of a bonus.

Already in April, long before breaking off negotiations with the BVB, the 27-year-old had quit his apartment in Dortmund in the summer.

Agent aren't there for convince they are there to get the player who they represent the best possible outcome.

The club needs to have a good relationship with whatever agents incase they have a player that we want. The manager and scouting team should identify the players that we want. Maybe in some cases the agent has played too much of a role in advising sporting directors or managers. I don't think that would happen with Mourinho, he has run into issues before where his own club have been choosing players above him let alone a players agent.

It depends if MUFC's plan was blown apart by Real Madrid seemingly making a move for pogba. However if we are stil in the hunt and are softening up Raiola by getting one of his clients over here to also get Zlatan and pogba, this window could go down as one of the best ever.

I doubt we'll get pogba but BVB seem to to take this guy's opinion seriously from what i've seen online.
 
Its funny because so many assumed that we would become Mendes' plaything once Mourinho took over.
 
I think we recoganize he has two of the top ten players in the world and one player who is a money making machine, if used rightly and is not half bad a player. Even if we pay him a huge bonus and get all three our team will be a level or two above what it was. Also it will help us do our business early and once raiola is set on a move, the move happens. I would be happy to cozy up to him, so that if he gets pogba and keeps him here for 5 years. Meanwhile he might have another great player we can sign in future.
 
Gone are the days players stay at 1 club for the rest of their career. It's rather odd than a norm. Just treat this as a business, you don't need to "cosy" up to any agents but rather treat it as business relationship.

Looking through posts, one would think that agents are there to wage war with fans and clubs. However, it's just their job to do it on behalf of their client. We needs to know that agents are there to make sure their clients get the best possible deals they could. It's not their job to make the club and us fans fall in love with them.

He has the players we want and think can improve us, we do a deal with him and if he could get us the player, be it on some huge price, so be it. It's just a business that we hate but at the same time we love it known as transfer business. We knows that everyone of us has a tiny muppet in us, so just sit tight and enjoy the ride through this wonderful transfer window.

It has barely been a norm at high level even in the past.

It's true but you would see more of them cases happened before compare to now and the next few years.

Think us fans would like to see loyalty of players but this thing call loyalty should work both way. Club and fans rarely show any loyalty toward players when they seems to have a dip in form, we can't wait to ship them off.

You talk about players loyalty but I would look at the clubs, we got rid of Evans and bought Rojo, Evans would have stayed at the club for as long as possible. We got rid of Brown and O'shea at the twilight of their careers.

Football clubs are the main culprit not agents or players.

It's fine. That's why I said we shouldn't get into this Agent A is bad influence on players and Agent B is good for our club ects.

Agent is there for the sole purpose of making players as much money as possible and of course at the same time theirs too. Who would want to do a free jobs. Both parties (clubs and players) wants what best for themselves so it's just a business at the end of the day.
 
Sign all his players, then when he inevitably has his massive coronary in a couple of years, transfer them all to Mendes. Simples!

Fergie didnt need to cosy up to Hazards agent, he just needed to pay him the 6m in agents fees that he demanded.
We lost Hazard over a 6m payout.

might be the difference as to why Mkhitaryan rumours shifted so quickly from arsenal to us. I've read numerous times now on the arsenal subreddit that wenger can't stand dealing with Raiola or the "super agent" type.

Fergie seemed on pretty good terms with Mendes and Pini Zahavi, who were probably the two biggest agents around.

I think Ferguson didn't always trust agents, although there was definitely some shady dealings over Bebe.

But we have definitely embraced playing the agents game since.

I can't explain how we paid £10m out to agents during that time but you'd expect to be getting something back. It's a slippery slope though, I hope we don't give Mendes or any other agent any more power.
 
It's part of the game today and we should play it to the fullest.
 
Mino Raiola cnut of all agents cnuts. Mendes and Zahavi besides being cnuts they are criminals as well.

He does what his clients want. Pogba had enough of being behind Park and Rafael in midfield so he got a move straight into Juve midfield and won 4 titles in a row. Ibrahimovic had a dream of playing for Barcelona and he got it. Mkhitaryan wanted to come to United and it seems like he will get that move.

Working for his clients interest and pissing off clubs shouldn't make him a cnut
