Minute by Minute: Manchester United vs Wigan

Players are back out on the pitch, and Tevez receives some last minute instructions from Fergie.

United get us underway.
 
Wigan are trying to press us back into our own half when we have the ball.
 
Bramble gets the first yellow of the night, cleaning out Berbatov from behind with a rash challenge.
 
Tevez links up with Ronaldo, playing a one two, but then allows the ball to run away from him. Scrappy start to the half this.
 
Scharner takes out Tevez with a cynical challenge and receives a yellow card. Tevez had done brilliantly to break forward and had made space for a shot or to set Ronaldo through.
 
Tevez has stayed down and he looks to be in some pain.
 
Ronaldo takes the free kick and has his shot blocked from about 5 yards. Bennett books Zaki and free kick is ordered to be retaken. Once again it is blocked though.
 
Tevez rolls Scharner and is brought down on the half way line. Bennett lets him off though with a stern warning.
 
United have had 77% possession in this 2nd half. Have not done much with it though tbh.

Heskey gets called for a foul on Vidic in the box and goes mental. Bennett gives him a talking to.
 
Valencia is allowed to put another cross in from the right and Evans does well to get to it ahead of Zaki who fouls him.

Anderson has come on for Nani, who was rather poor again today.
 
We've changd to a 4-3-3 with Tevez out on the left.
 
Wigan win a corner on their right wing. Taylor takes and a combination of Ronado and Zaki sees the ball go behind. Goal kick the decision.
 
Valencia beats O'Shea...again and sends a good cross in. Wigan scuff a couple of efforts and eventually VDS collects.
 
Vidic gives away a corner, but feels he was fouled by Zaki. Wigan building some pressure here.
 
Tevez is fouled by Bramble on the edge of the area who is very lucky to stay on the pitch for that.

Hang on Bennett hasn't even given the free kick.
 
Wigan win a free kick in the United half. Taylor puts it in but VDS does well to collect. His quick throw goes to a Wigan player though, and Figeuroa unleashes a decent effort from distance, which VDS does well to save. He then punches his head a few times.

Wigan attack again though, and Valencia beats O'Shea again, and whips in a cross. Zaki connects but not cleanly and it's a goal kick.

Fergie is not impressed.
 
United finally maintain some possession in the Wigan half and Scholes almost slips Berbatov in. Ball cleared for a corner though, which is cleared by Wigan.
 
Berbatov makes a good run at the Wigan defence and wins a corner.
 
Carrick slips as he takes it and it fails to beat the first man.
 
Ronaldo cuts in from the right and hits a vicious left footed effort. Cattermole blocks with his arm, and cons the ref by holding his face. Goes out for a corner which comes to nothing.
 
Henri Camara comes on for Zaki.
 
Valencia has had a brilliant 2nd half here. He picks out Bramble, who sends an awful shot out for a goal kick.
 
Attack! Attack! Attack Attack Attack! Rings around Old Trafford.
 
Another corner for Wigan on the right wing. Taylor takes. United half clear a couple of times, before Cattermole misplaces a pass out for a United throw.

De Ridder now comes on for Taylor.
 
Scharner breaks forward throgh the middle, and passes out to Valencia, who cuts in and hits a powerful effort over the bar. Camara wanted a cross there.
 
Carrick breaks forward for United and passes out to Ronaldo, who cuts in and drags a left footed effort wide of the goal.
 
Berbatov plays a one two with Ronaldo, then hits a shot with the outside of his right boot. Kirkland beaten all ends up, but it goes just wide. Unlucky.

Fletcher on for Scholes.
 
Brilliant defending by Vidic against Camara, to tackle him on Wigan's left wing.
 
Kapo comes on for Cattermole.
 
Fletcher plays a brilliant ball forward for Berbatov. He tries to take it past Bramble but knocks it straight out of play for a goal kick.

United attack again trhough Berbatov, who tries to slip in Ronaldo but Figueroa gets there first and clears.
 
De Ridder crosses. Camara flicks it on and VDS gets there just ahead of Heskey.
 
Wigan attack for perhaps the last time. They get loads of bodies in the box, and Heskey gets his head to a cross but it goes out for a goal kick.
