There are a lot of words that can be used to describe Sancho but ‘average’ isn’t one of them.

He might not work out here for one reason or another but he isn’t ‘average’, the same way Forlan wasn’t even though he couldn’t cut it with us.

And, even if I were to concede the point, a single comment is hardly comparable to the voluntary one man PR act you’ve maintained for the last, what, 3 years? The only comparable example is Amadeus with his Poch love in, and his wumming is actually funny.

He was desperate to sign for Arsenal, who already have Partey, it would be an identical situation if utd tried to sign him. He can also play in the same midfield as Casemiro, I'm not sure why this isn't being considered at all.

Given my post count vs yours, especially the last few years, that jibe doesn’t quite cut it the way you think it does.

And yes, Sancho isn’t average, that’s an objective fact. An average player doesnt earn a move to 2 of the biggest clubs in Europe in his teens/early 20s, an average player doesn’t register double figures in goals and assists in consecutive seasons in a top 5 European league at the same age. His performances for Utd have been average, and he wouldn’t be the first one who doesn’t work out here but finds his groove elsewhere, that happens. Football doesn’t revolve around just Man Utd, and the PL, but given your posting history, that might be too grand an idea to comprehend.

Anyway, we’ve strayed too far from the thread. Back on topic, maybe start watching some actual matches instead of ‘his team let in 3 goals in highlights he must be bad lulzy’.

Finally, some others see that guy for what he is. I am not sure about the voluntary part, his post sounds really work-like.

But then you will know it's pointless to argue with PR plant, they may get paid for that and you don't.

Caicedo would be brilliant. He'd be someone who can cover for casemiro or partner casemiro, so either way he'd be a key player. Don't see it though, they turned down 80m from Arsenal and then he extended his contract.
 
If we are to spend big on any midfielder at the moment he is the one I would be most comfortable with. Already at a very high level with more room to grow, comfortable in the league already too. Knows the position very well for his age.

Should definitely spend it if can play both positions because then opens up possibility to keep Sabitzer/sign Kokcu too
 
Caciedo looks a top prospect, but he’ll probably cost just as much as any “proven” central midfielders we’ll be interested in this summer.

Aside: not particularly moved by Mac Allister. Strikes me as another jack of all trades who wants to leave the proper midfield work to another so he can push forward.
 
The one Brighton player who I think is genuinely top class and not just a cog in the system. Not completely certain about Mac Allister.

I think he's versatile enough to play a box-to-box role next to Casemiro too. He's not a specialist DM.

Reckon he’s more proven than most that’ll be on the market given he’s shown he can hack the league. Getting someone from another league is always a bigger risk no matter how proven

Agreed. I've been mentioning Kokcu for a while now and he would be a fantastic addition to our midfield for a very reasonable fee from Feyenoord in comparison to how much Mac Allister would cost. Kokcu is already the captain at Feyenoord at 22, and he's a player we should absolutely take a chance on imo.

Both Simon Mullock and the Feyenoord ITK's (1908) have reported about our scouts watching Kokcu. That's the same combination of reports that first reported on our interest in Malacia before it was confirmed by the Feyenoord watcher at Voetbal International.

The 1908 are said to be among the best sources for Feyenoord news. Mike Verweij is a Ajax correspondent and the likes of 1908 and Martijn Krabbendam of Voetball International focus report on Feyenoord.

Martijn Krabbendam especially is one to watch when it comes to news about Feyenoord.
 
Would not go for Macallister. He’s good but after the World Cup and given Brighton’s position of strength he would be over priced. He’s nice at interplay but isn’t particularly suited to a deeper position and we have enough of those between the lines / box to box players.

I think Mitoma is top class too. Does lots of little things that only the best can do.

Both of them and Osimhen would be a dream, but alas a too expensive one.
 
Think he'd be great for us and the thought of him going to Pool or Arse is a horrible prospect. Has energy, is technically sound, press resistant, he'll be an instant upgrade on Fred and seems to be more consistent already at just 21.

If we see 70m as too high for him then I say go get Ugarte from Sporting who is a similar profile of player but possibly gettable for 60% of the cost.

Would be ideal if we could get him and pick up someone like Tielemans on a free or maybe Ward-Prowse when they get relegated. Other option in addition to signing him is keep Sabitzer.

He’d be pretty much a starting player, given his age/longevity and the opportunities to play as a 6 or 8. The amount of points dropped due to us not having Casemiro suggests that it would be money well spent if we’re trying to build a title winning team. We could get away with signing 1 top striker this summer too, with Rashford and Martial as back up, although I presume we’re also going to try and sign a cheap youth option to develop which won’t set us back really.

a top striker with high wages would cost at least 120m in total.

I just dont see us spending 190m. In fact we cant due to financial constraints without selling 6-7 players (where 1-3 would need replacing too). Thats also with a new sheik owner who cant just bend the rules from day one.

This guy is going to be great whoever gets him. Skill with aggression. Idesl Eriksen replacement. Might even be a long term Casemiro replacement
 
We are overplaying Casemiro. We want to be actively competing and trying to win 4 trophies every season. We should not need to have Casemiro turn out against Everton/Bournemouth/Leicester/ etc in the league or against some early cup rounds and group stage CL matches. We should have a viable albeit not quite as good alternative that doesn’t mean us changing how we play - that type of player is Caicedo. Simple - another South American who would surely be interested in learning from a 5 time CL winner? Guaranteed to etart 20-25 games a season across all competitions? Not including injuries or suspensions to the big man.

We are overplaying Casemiro - that is the basic point to remember here. €70 for this kid would be a steal andthe first bit of low risk long term planning I have seen from us in quite some time.

It’ll be 120 mil at the very maximum more like, but I get your point. We’ll just have to wait and see, we could sell McTominay, Henderson and Maguire alone and raise around £80 million which would surely cover the FFP constraints.
 
I think I’d rather Caicedo and Kökçü both coming in with Mejbri being promoted over Bellingham, I think that’d work out cheaper than Bellingham too.
 
Caicedo sale will be a new world transfer record. Brighton may even refuse these large offers. BHA priority will be signing another defensive midfielder to replace Mwepu for next season.

I agree with you. This would both give us some dynamism in midfield but also some numbers and allow us to play different
