We aren't discussing the act of questioning your superiors orders, it's flatly refusing to follow them that's up for discussion.This is not true for all professions. If you are making yoghurt cups, then yeah maybe. But fields where creativity is required, and the supply of qualified personnel is low , to which I include football , are different. It is perfectly fine to question your superior's orders if you deem them illogical or too demanding for the time schedule etc. This is not the military where it's either do as told or get court martialed. Although a lot of people think football is like that. Maybe it used to be, but those days are long gone.
Those teams vying for the premier league follow the direction of their manager. When has a team ever succeeded when they've openly ignored the instruction of their manager? Now by no means am I saying we would be challenging for the title if the players fell in line, but defending the actions of the players who have downed tools isn't acceptable.
