Nani

We're in deep shit without him, given the run of games that's coming up.

He should be OK for City I reckon, let him sit out Wolves to be sure.

Fletch as well I think was precautionary, he just fell a bit awkward.

Just saw an interview with him on MUTV he seemed to think he'll be ok for the weekend.

Was that a post match interview with MUTV? only ask because thats the impression he gave speaking to Sky sports at half time tonight but his body language when discussing it after the game seemed quite different and he looked quite concerned when he was asked about it.

Bloody typical really just as we've got that shite from across town coming up we lose our best attacking player, wouldn't be so bad if we didn't already have Valencia, Giggs and cnut features out to, our attacking options are looking threadbare just when we need them most.

Must say im never convinced by fergies injury prognosis, wasn't long ago Rooney was only meant to be out for 2-3 weeks tops, hes now likely to be out for 2 months by the time hes back, we have a history of making cocks of ourselves on the injury diagnosis font, Neville and Hargreaves and the famous 2 weeks also springs to mind.

Drawing praise from Wenger...

“I like what he is doing,” said Wenger. “He has individual quality in one-on-ones, but he has improved a lot in his team play and in front of goal. He has started scoring goals with both feet, and is a great crosser of the ball. Personally I think he has developed his game in an extraordinary way.”

“He has something like that (Ronaldo's skill) about him. He is a little bit less direct in his way of playing than Ronaldo is. However, he is technically a virtuoso and has remarkable speed.”

His overall play has improved greatly, he's defending more and working more for the team now than he used to which has resulted in all the assists. That was the most frustrating thing about him in years gone by, he did everything right right up to the final ball and then made the wrong decision.

I still think he has room for improvement on that front but he's made great progress.

As much as i want to see him on play on Saturday, no point risking him against Wolves with City up next.

When Valencia is fit, Nani will be back on the left again (although I do agree with you that he's best on the right wing).

Well, a lot also depends on how Bebe or Obertan handle being on the left while Valencia is out.

If one of them were to have any sort prolonged form out wide left, it'd be an interesting situation indeed.

Regarding Nani, I feel he should be played on the right until someone proves they're better in that position than him. I think that's how every position should be filled - by the person who's best at filling it!

Have we ever tried Valencia on the left?

Playing a 1-footed winger on the opposite side works for some other teams. They can do a lot of damage when they cut inside.

I wonder if Nani on the right with Valencia on the left would ever work.

Didn't he switch to the left against Brimingham away during the second half?

But I don't think Valencia is that comfortable shooting from outside the box, or cutting inside, which is what opposing footed wingers tend to do.

He's impressed even Wenger, but the United fans in the Gareth Bale thread still don't think he's anything special :wenger:

Hope he's back for City at least, we should be able to cope with Wolves even without him.

How the hell did he manage that:

i think bebe, in his cameo, was fantastic

i'd personally play park left and bebe right at the weekend.....

obertan - great goal aside - wasnt great last nite

"Not looking good" for Wednesday's game according to Ben Hibbs...

He is an excellent talent, can dribble, shoot, has good physique, is a decent set piece taker but why on earth does he feel the need to go down and stay down as if he has been snapped in half every single time there is a little bit of contact?

Last night it was the local derby and he still fannied about. Does my head in. He is too good a player to be rolling around and feigning injury. He is now making it difficult for officials to give fouls in his favour because simply he has made it difficult for them to tell whether there was real contact or not.

This is a disgraceful side of his game and is really an affront to football. Cut it out please

I agree. There are a lot of times that he goes down and stays down way too long when there has been minimal contact.
As far as the derby goes, I think he did get caught by barry (or was it milner). If you see the replay closely, you will notice that barry (or milner) got the ball but on the follow through caught Nani right on the angle with his studs.

Yup. I don't think you'll find many that would disagree with that.
