Matic is sound but needs help and will get this from Fred. I am happy with Midfield 3 of Matic, Fred, and Pogba. We need proper full backs and a Winger now.

I really like what Matic brings to our team so this is fecked up. Hopefully he'll recover properly and doesn't have other injury problems this season.

Matic is too slow, doesn't have the legs and I don't think he is suited to play with Pogba in midfield. He just gets in the way. I would like to see a more dynamic midfield and one that is built around Pogba. Sadly, Matic does not come into this bracket
I think Fred and Pereira could be answer.
It was a hernia, when he reported, they thought it wasn't going to be an issue but had him see a specialist, they realized it needed surgery and they did it that same day. Have not seen any mention of when he is expected back.
agreed, could be a blessing in disguise his injury, we could set up more functioning midfield if he's out for long a Pogba comes back early to join the party. Pogba - Fred/Herrera - Pereira/Herrera certainly looks much more dynamic and agressive. Matic did well last season but you can see where we were lacking... he's way too slow to move and takes ages to release the ball, he can cover the ball well and not losing it under pressure and find a good pass but with pogba doing the same our play is way too slow. think with Pereira, Fred and Herrera who all ask for the ball and move quicker we will be better off..
Returned to the first team training according to Joss. Honestly can’t wait to see him, Fred, and Pogba in action together, I do think it’s very balanced midfield with a bit of the everything.
Play Pereira on the right wing when Matic comes back, and we have a very strong side.

Not sure about a few comments here but Matic was for me, one of our stand out players last season and he is easily one of the top 6 DMs in world football in my opinion. I think Pogba, Herrera, Fellaini and McT were more of problems in our midfield last season than Matic was. Pogba, for all his talent, was very much injured and inconsistent last season. Moments of sheer magic were often followed by mere average performances. Matic makes up for his slow pace with an intelligent football brain. If Jose manages the team well, Perreira should still have good game time while we maximize Matic at his peak before the inevitable decline.
Would be nice not having him play 50 fecking full games this season, now that we've got a little bit of depth in midfield. Hopefully Jose shares that view.
