Newcastle United vs. Manchester United

if fletch does'nt play this game, no worries, he WILL start v. fulham. i think anderson will be dropped for this game to give a rest, and fletch will be on the bench with scholes and carrick to start. giggs on the bench with nani and ronaldo to start. back four picks itself, o'shea to give evra a rest if we're up 3-0 or better. roo-tev uptop with saha giving roo a rest.

On current form, this should be the team:

------VDS------------
Brown--Rio--Vida--Evra
Ronaldo-Carrick-Anderson-Nani-
----Tevez---Rooney

Play a simple 4-4-2 with 2 wingers out wide and Carrick and Anderson in the middle. They both can defend well enough while being very good for our attacking play

If there ever a manager that needed to get a good beating in a game, its King Kev.

We should be trying to replicate our 6-0 win at home, the barcodes are all over the place.

The most important thing is 3 points though...I see Arsenal slipping up this weekend

Team should be....

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Nani

CF: Tevez
CF: Rooney

Subs: PIG, O'Shea, Anderson, Giggs, Saha

1-3 to utd of manchester. Rooney will score

I like the look of that team ! We'll murder them, they are all over the shop. 0-3, if not 0-4 !!

You could of just quoted me if you thought I was bang on 100% right :smirk:

Haha, I didn't see that.

Great minds and all that...

VDS

Brown
Rio
Vidic
Evra

Ronaldo
Carrick
Scholes
Nani

Saha
Rooney

Subs: PIG, Tevez, O'Shea, Fletcher, Anderson

4-0 United

Time to give Saha a start

Like feck it is, he has to warrant a start, and so far he hasn't. Give him some subs appearances, and if he impresses then yes, he'll have earnt a start, until that happens, he should not start. Anyway, he'll just get injured again so it's a pretty pointless debate.

Must you bring intelligence to every thread?

Do we have time for that?

If none of you feel he will stay fit for longer than half of football, why the hell do you lot put him in your match squads? Why on the bench at all?

If you on the other hand believe that he will offer a valuable contribution, or could likely be called upon through circumstance any time now, then he must be properly prepd.

Either we do all we can to get him in form for the sharp end of the season, or we dont' use him. We must know where we stand.

Michael Owen is probably my only concern for this match, the lad is ready to prove that he is still a world class player and facing United must be one of those occasions he would be glad to make an impact in.

seconded

Nani-Carrick-Scholes-Ronnie
-----Rooney-Tevez-----
don't feel confident over this one,i would happily take a 0-1 with anyone scoring

I'd love it, love it if we beat them !

Like to see this team out :

VDS

Brown - Rio - Vida - Evra

Ronaldo - Anderson - Carrick - Nani

Rooney - Tevez

I'm not looking for us to win this match by goals galore, let's just get back to winning ways in the league. This time in the season, getting three points are much most important than a putting on a good performance.

A scrappy 2-1 to United.

If united (manchester) had of won at lyon i think this would of been a draw. As you didnt get the win i think United (manchester) will win this comfortably.

You could just say Man Utd.

I'd love it, love it if we beat them !

Fingers crossed we see this team and formation. and no defencive shit from the start of the game plz, I beleive if we play our United style we'll win it by over 3 goals.

Yeah, I think this team could seriously do the business.

Carrick and Anderson looking very good recently. I think they could work really good together. Nani too, adds flair and pace to that left wing, always threatening always running.

Add to that Ronaldo Rooney and Tevez, we've got our in-form, attacking team. Possibly our team for the future ..

A lot of team often raise their game when up against us, like keeping clean sheets just to let 7 go past the keeper the next, BUT I dare newcastle to do so. Their overall performance this season and in perspective must surely award them the title worst team of the season.

I fancy NUFC to get a point against us.

in the first half.

Well, the Draw-Man Utd is 3/1 with Paddy Power

Too slim IMO, but quite possible.

Newcastle have raised their game against top opposition enough times in recent seasons to suggest they could be more than a danger to us.

Heck, i can remember standing stil in the same place fromt he 80th minute onward [despite having things to do] and not willing to move when they held Chelsea up at St James' Park last season.

Let's hope there isn't a gooner doing the same come Saturday night eh. :)

I won't predict a score, cos it could be anything, Keegan will get it right eventually or near to it. It could be a tight enounter or a seven goal thriller.

To quote the Kaiser Chiefs;

"I predict a Riot, I predict a Riot....."

Newcastle havent a chance I will be well drunk at 10 am for this one, reckon United will win

4.15am Sunday morning for me, I probably won’t even remember the score......

A few of our players looked tired during the Lyon game, so I would hope fergie freshens the team up with 1 or 2 minor changes.

---------------VDS-------------
Brown-----Rio------Vidic---Evra
Ronaldo--Carrick--Scholes--Nani
---------Rooney---Saha-------

After a little thought, I reckon Pique may be in line for a start here

---------------VDS-------------
Brown-----Rio------Vidic---Evra
Ronaldo--Carrick--Fletcher--Nani/Park
---------Rooney---Tevez------

I think this is what SAF will go for. he will reward players like fletch for the performance against Arsenal. Also reckon he will rest Anderson with scholes coming off the bench to complete his recovery.

He could go with a 5 midfield and try Tevez as a lone striker to give rooney a little break although i can't see that happening!

Please God, no, let's not even go there! :nervous:

Interesting game

You should batter them but if Fergsun tinkers and Newcastle perform well
(which on the law of averages they have to at some point), they could nick a point

Put your full side out and you'll hammer them 3/4 -0 - anything less and you may get a surprise...........fingers crossed :D

I really don't see where an upset is going to come from...MU will win comfortably.

For those attending the match and thinking Newcastle will win, perhaps they should have a pre match meal at Marco Polo Italian Restaurant on Dean Street in the city centre. If Newcastle do win on Saturday, then all pre-match food & drink bills will be refunded.

Safe bet those crafty buggers at Marco Polo's have got there IMO.

Should be very easy but Fergsun has been known to tinker and lose a point or two

Team should be:

VDS
Brown Rio Vidic Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Anderson Nani
Rooney Saha

Subs: PIG, O'Shea, Park, Fletcher, Tevez.

I'd give Saha a run out because I think he needs a game and I'd keep Tevez on the bench and if such changes are needed in the second half, then I'd bring him on.

we are going to hammer this team of useless, talentless wankers...4-0...goodnight Keggers! Can't wait to see him squirming at half-time when we've played them off the pitch in front of the Best Fans in the World™

You should be nervously excited before a match like this.
Who said i wasn't ?

I just think its going to be a VERY tough game. Newcastle have had 2 weeks to prepare for this match, we've had 2 days. Its never easy playing away from home 3 days after playing abroad. They'll be up for it too, searching for their first win under Keegan. Its a cup final to them.

Our players know we can't afford to drop anymore points, so hopefully they'll give 110%.
