Newcastle United vs Manchester United

I really don't see us losing points here. We have a good record at SJP over the years, even when they have had good sides. They are in dire straits at the minute and I reckon the Carling Cup will give us another boost.

That's a suitably fresh team. Don't forget, Newcastle only played a few hours earlier than us on Saturday, and their squad depth is no where near that of us.
 
It's a sign of how good our squad is right now that we can play on Wednesday and change the top 6 completely and if anything look just as strong if not stronger than yesterday. My team would be....

Although in this team we have two relatively inexperienced full backs, both Giggs and Park are ideal wingers to have in front of them as they'll give them plenty of cover.
 
When's Neville and Brown back?

Too bad Scholes played the full 120 minutes yesterday, because he always plays great against Newcastle.

Despite Newcastle being rather shit, I have a bad feeling we might loose or draw this. A poential ten point lead sounds too good to be true, and as we all have experienced United always does it the difficult way.

Defensively, a little light though, but with Park covering Eckersley, should be a good outing for the young full backs.

Damien Duff did not figure against Bolton because of a calf injury and Nicky Butt fears he has damaged his medial knee ligaments, and could be out of action for up to six weeks.

Alan Smith hopes to replace Kevin Nolan at Bolton Wanderers tomorrow for his first start this season.

So Newcastle will miss Barton, Owen, Guthrie, Nolan, Duff and Butt? :cool:

Most of our team will be fresh on Wednesday. I guess only Evra, Ronaldo and Rio will be in there from the team that won the League Cup (and Vidic who didn't play 120 minutes), all the others had their rest and should be able to get all three points from our trip to SJP.

Newcastle away always excites me, even if their team is dire at the minute. Rooney and Scholes love playing there, which is why it's a shame Scholes won't play on Wednesday. Really looking forward to Berbatov and Rooney starting things up again.

I'm assuming Ronaldo will be on the bench?
 
i know a few guys have said maybe fabio will start but i doubt that, he never played in the CC final so i doubt away to newcastle.

Not really, we have virtually a full side available and they're without 4 or 5 first team players. Plus they're shite and have no manager. We should batter them.
 
I remember United on a great run of wins playing an exact same shit Newcastle United in 06/07 and drawing 2-2 after creating something between 15 and 20 chances to score.

We've got to be clinical in front of goal.
