Not looking forward to this I admit, feel like Newcastles strength and intensity is going to be tough to deal with.

Feels surreal that we are actually ahead of them in the table.
Feels surreal that we have reached that position while only scoring 16 goals, with a GD of 0.
While Newcastle have scored 31 and have a GD of +17

If they were at full strength, we wouldn't stand a chance. But as it stands they are far from it. We should be able to get at least a draw here. But please, play Amrabat and Mainoo. Bring Varane back. We can't afford to be carved open like this.

Ten Hag needs to be pragmatic in this game, takes Mourinho's costume and park the bus.

Hopefully we'll have nothing else than parking the bus and counter them, yet Rashford is not a football player and Hojlund's not fit.

Think Newcastle will win 4-0, but I have a hope that Joelington fouls Mc Tominay, gets a red, then we score on a counter and wins it 1-2.

We have to remember that we also play Chelsea the following Wednesday, but have no one to rotate.

    --------------------------------------------Oulala----------------------------------------
    AWB------------------------Maguire--------Varane----------------------Shaw
    ------------------------------------------Amrabat---------------------------------------
    Rashford----------------Bruno------------Mc Tominay--------Garnacho
    ------------------------------------------Hojlund----------------------------------------

This last game at Galatasary could push any sane man to the brink of insanity. EtH needs to drop him.
He made the same mistakes against Bayern. And other teams this season and survived

Away to Newcastle, Mctominay cannot play if Bruno does as we need 2 deeper midfielders and he will not track back and help out, he might be a threat going forward but he isn't good enough to take one of the front 4 places, the back 6 primary job has to be defend away from home, I'd go with:

    Dalot Varane Maguire Shaw
    Amrabat Mainoo
    Rashford Bruno Garnacho
    Hojlund

They tore us apart in the LC with their second string team.

Combined with our dreadful away record against top 10 sides, can’t see a good result here.

Can people just accept that McTominay is now one of the first names on the team sheet, and Maguire won't play as a LCB?

No, Mctominay shouldn't be, he is great at runs into the box but we can't leave the DM isolated away to Newcastle, that's suicide and Maguire has played more games at RCB than left?

The only top 10 side we've ever beaten away under Ten Hag was Fulham last season, every other game we've lost apart from the 2-2 draw with Spurs.

Newcastle at St James' under the lights on a Saturday evening is a horrible prospect for any team, especially us.

Well I think we can all predict what Newcastle tactics are going to be. Shoot on sight and follow up everything you hit at the dodgy keeper.

Newcastle at St James' under the lights on a Saturday evening is a horrible prospect for any team, especially us.

Their crowd will be extremely vocal. Especially those behind Onana goal.
But if we want to compete at the top, that is what you must expect.

I think Newcastle will win this. Just think we can't match their legs in midfield. We're relying in Mainoo to pull up trees which is unfair pressure.

We may as well stay at home going by some of the comments on here. It'll be tough but we can definitely win.

3-2 United. We can’t defend and Ten Hag has got a terrible away record.

Hopefully the game will be pure chaos and we can nick a late winner.

The only top 10 side we've ever beaten away under Ten Hag was Fulham last season, every other game we've lost apart from the 2-2 draw with Spurs.

Yeah, Fulham were 8th when we beat them in November last year. We've played 10 teams who were in the top half of the table, won once (Fulham), drawn 2 and lost the other 7. Conceded 28 goals in those 10 games and scored 11.

    Hardly inspires confidence does it?

AWB, Maguire, Lindeloff, Shaw, McTominay, Bruno, Rashford, Martial plus any three non-Ole era players. Should be good.

I think we are building some form, players are starting to click in attack. We just need more stability in defence. I think we will win as well.

    Bayindir
    AWB Maguire Lindelof Shaw
    Amrabat Mainoo
    Bruno
    Rashford Hojlund Garnacho

Onana has to be dropped for obvious reasons.

Would like to see the Amrabat/Mainoo pivot for this one, Scott can play a role from the bench. Toss of a coin between Rashford and Antony but think ETH will go for Rashford.

The start of our savage December fixtures, let's see if we can keep that league form going against much better teams than we have faced recently

I would drop Onana to protect him for a bit and give Bayindir a chance to bed in before Onana goes away for international duty. I would also drop Rashford and let Antony stay on the right wing. But I am not sure if EtH would be willing to take the same risks. Not willing to bet my lineup prediction position on it. We can't have passengers for this one. Need to match Newcastle for workrate.
