VDS
Brown-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Ronaldo-scholes-Carrick-Giggs
----------------Rooney--------
--------Saha-------------
0-3 United Saha, Ronaldo and rooney

Solano played right back today, Ramage off injured and they took Sibierski on instead.
And played a youngster at LB, they really have problems in defence.

Ok my predicted team is

GK: VdS

RB: Neville (who SAF has confirmed isn't injured and will be fit)
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic (we wont go conceding 2 goals when we get him back in)
LB: Evra (we seem to concede goals when Henzie plays  )

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Saha

Would be brilliant if we won 0-1 with a 90 minute Rossi goal :smirk:

No messing about in this one...

VDS

Gaz - Rio - Vida - Heinze

Ronaldo - Scholes - Carrick - Giggs

Rooney - Saha

Expect us to play our best 11 against them. Heinze may get a rest as he played today. I expect Ronnie and Wayne to start.

..................VDS....................

Nev.......Rio..........Vida.......Evra

Ronaldo......Carrick....Scholes....Giggs

...........Rooney......Saha.............

3-1 to us.

I agree with this line up

Code:
                       VDS

Gaz Rio Vida Evra

Fletch Scholes Carrick Giggs

                Ronaldo Saha
Sub: Kuzzy, Brown, O'Shea, Rooney, Ole.

Rooney and Ole to come on in the 2nd half

A scraping 1-0 win with another Ronaldo goal

After todays worst ever penalty from Martins I hope they find someone else before Monday.

You lot should rip Newcastle apart....hopefully Fergie will rest Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Saha, VDS, OGS, Rio and Carrick.

Toon 0 MU 3

Phil Neville scored today against Newcastle, I think it's time for Gary to do the same ;)

i can see them getting a result as it goes

my prediction is 3-1 for United
we need an earlier goal to go thru SJP

Newcastle have horrible defensive problems, iirc they now have 6 recognised defenders out. If Scholes and Carrick can control the midfield (Newcastle's only strong area) then we'll run out comfortable winners.

Considering that Chelsea has a tricky game the next day at Villa, it would be nice for us to be 9 points clear before then.

2-0 United

Ronaldo, Saha

We're either going to stuff the twats by 3 or 4, or lose 1-0.

have to keep the pressure on. I could give a fcuk so long as we get 3 pts.

will Ronaldo score 2 more again?
has that been done before, 2 goals per game for 4 in a row?

Newcastle 0 Man Utd 2
Nice way to start the new year IMO
The way we are scoring goals and the lack of quality in their defence can only = 3 points

Tough one this. I'd say 1-3 rooney 2, ronaldo with the other

Anyone know how serious the injury to Peter Ramage is? will he play on monday?

Described as a hamstring pull....looks doubtful to me.

I don't think it will be as tough as some people expect. They have serious defensive problems, esp. in full back positions. Ronaldo and Giggs will have a great game. And they couldn't rotate the squad due to injury problems, so they won't perform at their best.

Newcastle 1 - 4 United

i thin we need to be full strength for this - going to be a tough game for us!

1-3 roooney saha x2 - but maybe getting a clean sheet will be the key to a win but i cant help but think we may conceed.

------VDS------
Gary-Rio-Vida-Evra
Ron-Scholes-Carrick-Giggs
-----Saha--Rooney

I'm not sure about Gary's and Rooney's position, so I wouldnt mind seeing Wes and Ole in the starting line up.
Rossi to come on in and will score the winner :)

Just noticed Reading were the first team to score 2 goals against MU in the PL.

 That's some achievement by you lot!

Yes our defence are quality. Rio and Vidic are doing a great job with Neville and Evra/Heinze at RB and LB.

Is Nicky Butt popular yet among the Newcastle fans? I've read that he wasn't popular when he played for Birmingham last season and the first season for you.
But the matches I have seen this season I think Butt is doing a good job for you.

And, have Solano played RB for a long time or just for a few matches? Would it be a big blow for your team if Ramage not play tomorrow?

Cheers and happy new year :)

Having been a Red for so long Butt was always going to get a rough time at Newcastle.

Early on his performances gave many here, including me, the impression he was just going through the motions and picking up his wage....however, something has changed and he is playing with a new found enthusiasm and actually busting a gut most games. Good player.

Solano is a class player and as such can turn in good performances in a variety of positions.....injuries have pushed Roeder into using Solano as a fullback and he has done v well. (Extremely well when you take into account something he is going through in his personal life. And no, I won't tell you what it is. Sorry.)

Ramage has come through the academy at Newcastle and is performing well....he has formed a good partnership with another academy lad, Taylor, and it will be a blow if either doesn't play.

I love to see home grown talent come through into any first team and it is particularly pleasing to see so many of the youth players coming through that Roeder had such a big hand in developing during his years in charge of the academy.

All the best for 2007.

St James' Park
Monday, 1 January
Kick-off: 1715 GMT

Newcastle may be forced to play Nicky Butt in the centre of defence after the injury to Peter Ramage at Everton.

Ramage's injury has left Steven Taylor as Newcastle's only fit centre-half, with Titus Bramble and Craig Moore out. Paul Scholes and Nemanja Vidic return from suspension as Manchester United look to complete a 100% return over the festive period against Newcastle.

Rio Ferdinand (shin) is a doubt, but Gary Neville is back, after United denied claims he needs calf surgery.

Newcastle (from): Given, Srnicek, Krul, Solano, Edgar, Taylor, Huntington, Parker, Butt, Emre, Milner, Pattison, Troisi, Gate, Martins, Dyer, Sibierski, Luque, Carroll.

Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Silvestre, Evra, Heinze, Ronaldo, Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, O'Shea, Giggs, Richardson, Rooney, Solskjaer, Saha.

Thanks for the answers Marching. :)

Gary Neville have now rested since the Villa game, Nemanja since Wigan, Evra since Wigan, Scholes since Wigan, Giggs only played 45 minutes against Reading and were rested vs Wigan.

Fergie have rotated very well, and 9 points out of 9.

Sibierski Martins
Emre - Dyer - Parker - Milner
Huntington Taylor Butt Solano
Given

Could this be a possible Newcastle team? looking good in midfield and upfront with Martins.
But the bench player aren't too good I think.

For my FF team's sake, I hope you are right. ;)
