Pep, Jose and Ole are their actual names. Guardiola calls himself Pep.
But Poch is a shite made up nickname, it would be like calling Solskjaer Solsh or something.
Don't you remember when Guardiola got immensely annoyed by Mourinho calling him Pep during their Spain tenure, and hit back at him by saying "since he's calling me Pep, I'll call him Jose!".

Ive heard him call himself Pep on other occasions and not react to journalists calling him pep either. And besides Pep is a common shortened version of the name Josep.

So the Ole in/ Ole out debate will be high on the agenda tonight after that dross performance, and I am genuinely curious, in the world of football currently which manager would you like to see replace Ole if at the end of this season it became a possibility ?
He won't be sacked if we finish top 4 but if ever we were to change managers soon, Nagelsmann would be at the top of my shortlist by a large margin
How about the current Molde manager they're doing quite well.
To be honest, the worst thing is that I don't trust our clowns at the top to appoint someone who's not obvious and there isn't anyone out there to point your finger after Poch is gone.

Nagelsmann for me. Best option out there and the worry is if we miss out on him then where do we go, all the top managers are spoken for and I’d hate to see us stuck and having to go for someone like Allegri cause there’s no one else out there.
We absolutely need to take a calculated risk with our next manager... He needs to be brave, attacking, flexible, progressive, have DRIVE TO WIN THINGS, be able to adopt a clear system (so when a player is not performing it doesn't affect everything).
That manager is Nagelsmann and we have to go for him. Other than that Brendan Rodgers fits those attributes too, but becoming less convinced about him.

Zero point changing manager in the current climate. Just have to accept our role in challenging for top 4 and cross fingers for a decent cup run. Most fans have to deal with worse.

I noticed don't worry haha! I mean I don't know what we were really thinking! I can name at least 6-7 current Premier League clubs whose managers I would take over Ole. That is before we consider La Liga, Bundesliga etc...

Then once all the options are gone, that gave us hope that there was an alternative, we would all face the dawn of realisation that this is us. This is a good as it will get for a long time because now we have no option but to keep Ole. Feels like we're nearly there. Once Nagelsmann replaces Klopp at Liverpool, or something like that, the great dawn of despair is upon us.

I feel quite strongly that the problem isn't the manager but the backing he receives. We've seen it with two or three managers now that they are backed heavily in their first summer and that gradually trickles away until the new guy comes in and the cycle starts again. Last year was a covid window but Cavani was the only signing we made last summer who you can even argue is a regular, and even he doesn't play every game.
We're at a point now where we can see there are at least 2 or 3 positions in the starting 11 that need strengthening and probably another 2 or 3 beyond that in the squad. It doesn't matter which manager you bring in we won't win a title without a reliable partner for Maguire, better midfield options than Fred and McTominay or a presence on the right wing.

I would like to have a manager that can make a team play as a proper team. This is what Guardiola does at Man City. It is not good players alone, but very good teamwork. I always feel we lack that. Liverpool had it the past few seasons under Klopp, as well.

As I say, give him a fair crack to make the changes he wants. Cavani is the only one of last summer's signings to break into a team that limped over the finish line at the back end of last season.
I'm not happy with the results or performances in recent weeks but let's also assess what players we have and how they're performing. Go big in the summer to address our shortcomings and if we don't step up then that's fair enough. I can't pretend I'm inspired by the thought of getting Nagelsmann in because he's the hipsters choice though.
Outside of Nagalsmann who will also be a bit of a risk, there's no one else now. Ancelotti maybe but that's it.
Looks like this is as good as it gets. Ole is out of his depth at a top club. Love him as I do, if we have elite ambitions, he has to go. Otherwise we'll be watching reruns of this movie for a while yet. Go in hard for Nagelsmann (my choice, but could be another elite manager) and sell him a well backed project. We could sign whichever player we want next summer but if they can't be coached properly, we ain't going nowhere.

Part of the reason why the team limps towards the end of the season is because Ole doesn't manage his players well.
Ridiculous that Rashford and Bruno has to play in every game or we're fecked. We really should be winning the likes of Sheffield and Crystal Palace even when the both of them are being rested. But no, just play them game in game out and blame lack of squad option for the bad results.
There is no stand out option other than Nagelsmann and United won't be bothered about him. We will go with Ole into the next season too.
Allegri is still available, it wouldnt be pretty but he would win us trophies for sure.
I'd rather stick with Ole. Call it stubborn, but I want progressive football that's modern and doesn't make my eyes bleed. Allegri would be an upgrade on Ole, but it would be far from the step forward I want. We'd be back looking to replace him inside three seasons and this place would be hating life.
Solskjaer isn't going anywhere. Top four is the target and he is on course to achieve it for successive seasons. The gap between City and United will only further this summer too. Nothing we can do about it.
Since when does Ole play progressive football? We literally have the most 0-0's in the league.
We should go for Nagelsmann. His team plays good football, and he is used to finding not-top tier players which is what I believe we are more likely to do in current situation rather than go big. That's because I don't think the board will be interested in investing heavy money if we finish 2nd/3rd.

I also think this job is too big for pretty much anyone. Your promising young managers would mostly collapse within a season.
Main problem at this club has been lack of continuity. Stick with Ole. When Ole goes, make sure director of football is in place before next manager. Pray.
