If you're Cleveland, I think you have to go for a QB and a RB and worry about defense next year. You got Flash Gordon and a couple of good young receivers. Add a young RB and a solid young QB, at least they will have their offense sorted for a while. But then again, its Cleveland! They will find a way to feck up.

Yeah it will be interesting. I don't know about Cousins as I'm not sure how his salary would work with their cap space situation. I did read that Elway has requested a formal meeting with Rosen.

Talib getting traded or more likely cut will free up $10m and I'm sure there will be other smaller amounts freed up by other cuts but his salary is definitely an issue.

Elway definitely has a hard on for Rosen, but if he's going to be the starter in 2018 there's going to have to be some moves made in free agency to bolster that O-line.

I'd imagine we'll be needing a RB too, as I wouldn't be surprised if C.J Anderson is released.

Ideally they sign Cousins, and trade down a bit (or draft Barkley and an OL/Fitzpatrick or someone else).

Schefter saying only 4 teams vying for Cousins - Broncos, Jets, Vikings and Cardinals - looks like Browns arent in for him.

Imagine him going to the Cards with DJ back as well. They’d be instant contenders and the NFC West would be absolutely loaded.

Their defense hasnt been good for two years now even though they have star studded individuals. Palmer was also dire.

They are in a very strong position. They could trade the #1 pick away for a boatload of other picks and still keep #4 to draft whoever they want and use 2nd and 3rd rounders they would also gain from trading the #1 pick.

No thanks...:wenger:

They've already got three in the second round and two in the fourth and fifth rounds as well as the joint most picks overall. At some point it's better to just take the best players available rather than constantly picking up more picks and hoping you find a bunch of studs in the later rounds.

True but they will already be getting one of the best players at the #4 and could easily dip into free agency or the trading market for a QB. They could for example pick up someone like Bridgewater or Kaepernick or even trade for Foles if they have an abundance of draft picks to play with.

True. I just think they have such a great chance to find their franchise QB after so long and they have all the other pieces in place. I'd go after either McCarron or Bridgewater in free agency with as frontloaded a contract as possible if not a one year deal, choose the best QB with the first pick and then go for the best player available at 4, either Barkley or Fitzpatrick most likely. That way you can have your drafted QB sit and learn for a bit while still improving your short-term play and add another star.

That's a possibility. I think the Browns need first and foremost a great QB to get them out of this mess. They can draft whoever they want, but without an experienced player who can bind all the talent together, they will continue to flounder. Bridgewater would be a great pickup if he's ready to go again. He is apparently going to be a free agent and could get picked up for a little as 6m. They need more help on offense than on defense and really need to pick up a top receiver, although there aren't any either in the draft or free agency, unless of course they can lure Landry over.

Bridgewater has to actually leave the Vikings, that's not a given.

Think Landry would be ideal for them, they have the cap room to spare and having him and Gordon would be the perfect combo.

By the way, is Kizer a confirmed flop?

I don't know why its considered odd to take a RB in the top 10 as its a pivotal position. I think Barkley will be a success in the NFL as he has the proper speed/size/agility combination to make a massive impact for whoever selects him (assuming of course that team has a decent OL). 4.4 speed at 230lbs is very good for any RB and in addition to running for 1,000 yards, he's also going to be a threat catching the ball out of the backfield.

Hasn’t it historically also been due to injuries etc.? I wonder what the stats are for RB injuries vs other positions, if such stats exist.

Just ask the Cowboys and Jags and I think they’ll tell you they are very happy they took their RBs top 5 in the past two years. It can completely transform an entire franchise.

Despite Elliot performing as well as you could possibly have expected him to at the time, I bet the Cowboys are kicking themselves for passing on Jalen Ramsey.

he's never hit 600 yards in a season. his rate stats are nothing special. he had a tremendous combine.

Mckinnon aside. Do you think that Orlando Brown's combine is telling or meaningless, if it was confirmed by his pro day?

I'm starting to dream about the impossible. The Vikings re-signing Keenum for around 20m/year and drafting Lamar Jackson. I struggle to get into the Cousins bandwagon.

Shaquem Griffin managed 20 reps at 225 pounds despite having to use a prosthetic. Can't wait to see who drafts him, guy's immense. Would love to see the Seahawks reunite him with his brother.

Inspirational man and I have so much respect for him. I cannot wait to see who drafts him.

Got to admit, I kinda teared up watching him, it's incredible that he's even made it this far. He's currently predicted to go in round 5 or 6 but I really wouldn't be shocked to see him go earlier than that.

I wanted Ramsey and felt RBs can be found anywhere and everywhere. Top tier RBs not so much but occasionally a club finds one in the middle/late rounds. I think Dallas would have done basically the same with McFadden, Morris, and Smith sharing the workload, and having a shutdown CB in Ramsey would have greatly helped the woeful pass defense.

I don't rate him as a franchise caliber guy but with that current setup he could easily get them to the Super Bowl. Just about any competent QB should be able with the defense and those offensive weapons. The window is probably 2-3 more seasons with this group.

There's no guarantee Jackson will even make in the league as a QB. Here's hoping so because he does appear a dynamic player. A club that drafts him could utilize him in the same way Pittsburgh did with Kordell in his first two seasons.

And getting rid of Bradford and Bridgewater ?

So did I when I watched videos on nfl.com

Didn't they just re-sign Bortles ? Would be a strange move.

And lowered his cap charge by half to around 10M this year without much affect going forward if they were to release him in 2019. Which means they can then afford to sign a veteran to compete/fill-in when needed. Bridgewater could prove a shrewd move if any truth in that rumor.

Yeah but I doubt Bridgewater will want to sit on a bench for a year, especially after having already been out so long to injury. I'd imagine he will want to dive straight in with a team where he can start immediately.

He's not a guaranteed started anywhere he signs. Dude's coming off a major injury and has played little since. If he's confident in himself and fully recovered then he should easily beat out an average QB like Bortles.

I'd imagine he would be guaranteed to start if he went somewhere like Cleveland.
