Pats have acquired Jason McCourty. The twins are united!! Ends up being a trade even though there was talk earlier he was getting cut by Cleveland.

Not sure how good he is at CB but I guess he takes Butler’s spot.

Yeah glad to see the twins together!

And I think he’s a decent enough corner but obviously getting to the age where you never know.

Specifically on the bold part though, it’s actually a very very clever tactical move.

If J Mac goes to free agency, I don’t know what the demand for him would be but I guess there could be competition in signing him. Also means you’d need to agree the contract and all the terms up front. All this adds risk and maybe cost.

Trade means we guarantee the deal. And the genius of it? We pick second last in the 6th. Cleveland picks first in the 7th. We have only gone back two spots but we have secured the lad without any competition.

Murray restructured his contract and there is a rumor that the Vikes are also in play for mathieu. After that restructuring the cap space is supposed to be around 30m.

Interesting, Von Miller has restructured his deal and freed up $12m in cap space for the Broncos this year.

Vikings, Rams, and Eagles are going to be a handful next year.

NFC North keeps making the news

Guessing the Bears will match.

Fuller has to sign with whoever offers the most, right? Or does he have any wriggle room to chose?

If Bears match, he stays as far as I understand. So all basically depends on how Packers structured it.

So if the contract was frontloaded the Packers would actually get him?

It depends on the Bears and only the Bears. If they match the offer, he stays.

Article on NFL suggests that Green Bay could structure it in a way it isn’t just on the bears. I could be wrong though.
I think it's more that they could've structured it in a way that gives the Bears a headache in cap space terms a couple of years down the line, it's just a matter of whether Chicago want to have to deal with that or not (so it's still up to them).

Getting a bit empty out there in terms of free-agent starting corners so Packers could really do with it going through (and obviously the Bears will be well aware of that).

The article literally says that it's on the Bears, it's fairly simple the Bears will look at the Packers offer and decide if they like it or not, if they do like it they will match it. Remember that the Bears have more cap space than the Packers, so it's really their decision.

Apparently the Seahawks offer was $6.5m which I'm guessing was our way of saying "feel free to leave". Surprised he couldn't get a better deal than a one year deal with $8m base even though he wasn't all that impressive this year.

Well that was over with quickly

At least we drove up the price.
But that’s about it when it comes to corners in free agency.

That pass rush better be good this year!

The Vikings released Wright, are they making room for a new free agent?

Looks like we are signing Adrian Clayborn. Won’t fix our pass rush but at least a step in a better direction.

Hopefully Hightower’s return & the draft will address this but it’s a major issue that needs fixing somehow.

Apparently we won’t name an official defensive coordinator so it’ll be interesting how we approach the game plan on D next season & if the ‘bend don’t break’ strategy will work again.

The backup QBs on most teams are so bad ,still seems crazy that we won the SB with a backup

Blount to Detroit. Good pickup for them.

Mathieu to the Texans, somewhat surprising.

It's an interesting situation because Eagles obviously are uncertain about how long Wentz will take to get to full fitness and of course considering what happened last season the value of a good backup on a cheap contract is massive and so it will take a crazy offer for Eagles to trade him which clearly hasn't come in. What I can see happening is that if Wentz starts the season well and someone else has a QB injury then Foles could get a Jimmy G like trade

I still think Foles will be in play around draft time. There's no reason for a SuperBowl QB to play 2nd string anywhere, especially when he could get a massive contract for another team.

The massive contract that he can get is slightly irrelevant here because the Eagles won't let him go unless they get a great offer, a lot of the teams that needed a QB have one now so no one will offer a good deal to the Eagles

Just went through all 32 teams and the only ones I think that still have a doubt regarding starting QB are Bills ,Dolphins ,Ravens and Giants. Dolphins are likely to stick with Tannehil , Ravens made the playoffs with flacco so would be surprised if they made a change and Giants & Bills are probably going to draft a top prospect so there is nowhere left for Foles IMO

Yep. Bills and Dolphins are definitely in need. Steelers may also be in the market shortly and are apparently looking at Mason Rudolph.

Unless I’ve missed something I don’t understand the Matheiu contract.
There’s nothing to miss. Apparently we just overrated his positional value and underrated the impact his injuries might have had.
