Done deal. He wont remain released for long.

Good luck Dez getting anywhere near 16 million now .Three bad years a disruptive influence i don't envy any team takes him

The writing was on the wall when they signed Hurns.

Wouldn't be shocked if Hurns switches to the 88 shirt now.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens I do think we should have sorted this earlier .Now we have to decide is Hurns number one or we going all out on Ridley in the draft if we get him ?

He hasn't played in a while so its unclear how good he is at this stage. That said, I have a hard time believing he wouldn't be good enough to be an NFL backup and probably a starter for certain teams.

I heard the Seahawks pulled out after asking him whether or not he planned to kneel if he signs.

He's miles better than Kellen Moore* but Jerry will consider a woman-beater (Hardy) but would never consider Kaepernick.

*Who is no longer with the club as a backup but...

Meh. Would rather see both parties settle on something for just the next year. We have a decent list of WRs, probably need one more signing. Hope we don’t go crazy and reach for a WR in the first round.

Has he not said he wouldn't kneel again? Shame no team will take him i still think he would in the top 20 at least of last years starters but i think his legal case will stop any team taking him now

He apparently told the Seahawks he would be kneeling if they signed him. That's allegedly what precipitated them pulling out and signing Stephen Morris instead.

Apparently after getting cut Dez told Jerry he would see him twice next year .

So Redskins or Giants ?

Seen that report but I don't buy it for a second, doesn't fit the Seahawks MO at all to blacklist someone for kneeling. Ian Rapoport claimed that it was more to do with him not having much of a plan going forward than kneeling, guessing that's either they doubted his desire to actually play or there was an issue with him and the lawsuit.

I don't think he's blacklisted per say. Its more a matter of a club weighing the cost/benefit of dealing with sponsor/fan/kneeling drama. Its a simple business decision - as in "is signing Kaepernick worth more than what it would entail". They obviously concluded no.

I just don't think the kneeling or any drama would even enter John Schneider or Pete Carroll's mind. I agree that it's a simple business decision but I think it has basically nothing to do with kneeling. Especially considering our plan with backup QBs over the last couple of years has been to go for as cheap an option as possible cos Wilson will keep playing even if he gets decapitated meaning they basically only need to be there for practice and/or spare body parts.

There's a simple cost benefit. Would Kaepernick give them more than Stephen Morris can, bearing in mind the drama that would accompany Kaepernick. He would ostensibly be a permanent backup who wouldn't play (meaning he wouldn't be adding much), but would still be kneeling which would make it a fairly pointless move when there are no drama alternatives.

But my point is that the drama is unlikely to have been part of the equation for the Seahawks. They don't care about that stuff at all, hell we've had about half our team flip off coaches during games and they've not given a toss about that, nor did they care when various players were protesting. Also, don't think Stephen Morris is actually going to be our backup, most likely he's just a camp body.

Meanwhile:

Following on from that tweet and the theme of crazy players, Richie Incognito seems to have become even more insane. Over the last two weeks he has sacked his agent, announced he's retiring, announced he's unretiring and now he's asked the Bills to release him - all of this on twitter. Taking a leaf out of Trump's book which seems appropriate for someone like him.

Only surprise is it took this long, they were obviously looking to trade him but had no takers.

$4.5m cap hit or zero dead money, he was never making the roster for 2018.

Surely they will draft someone now that they have ditched both Charles and Anderson.

Yea probably in the later rounds, the coaches are fans of Devontae Booker

Keep an eye out for my boy Mark Walton. Quality back. Injured for much of last year so will probably drop to the later rounds.

Is taking Barkley out of question IF he drops down to #5?

I don't see any way he does with Cleveland having two of the first 4 picks. Even if he did though I don't see Elway NOT picking a QB if either Rosen or Mayfield are left.

35th pick in the draft last year. Struggling to think of how he could have been a worse pick.

Brandon Marshall posted online that there was no room for Dez Bryant at the Giants two days ago. Today, the Giants have released him. Looks like there is room after all...

First game against the Pats, ffs. Hopefully Watson/Nuk/Dez will be too much for their secondary and the Badger picks Brady twice

He was terrific in the game last year & it was only Brady's brilliance which got us the win. Really hope he comes back from his injury without having to change the way he played his game.
