MrMarcello
In a well-ordered universe...
It's baffling that Fisher held onto his job for such a long time. What a truely terrible coach he was.
Jason Garrett is Fisher 2.0, the offensive version.

Fisher's pure ineptness is on a whole different level. I'll never forget what he did to Gurley. Don't think I've ever seen a player as obviously talented as Gurley underperform so much, simply because the coach had no idea what to do with him. That Rams offense was just absurd. Watching them was like watching a Mr. Bean movie.Jason Garrett is Fisher 2.0, the offensive version.

The worst thing about having the draft at the end if April is we still have like 4 months until the season starts.
That‘s true. But I still think Fisher is worse. At least Zeke was productive. Fisher made Gurley look like some dude from the stands who just happened to wear the right jersey.I actually think that MrMarcello is right. If you look beyond the hype around the Cowboys, they have had a bad offense and defense that relied on a couple of very good players to not be totally useless. At least the Rams were very good defensively, they virtually had no offense but at least half of the team was good.
That's why Baseball was invented.![]()
I just can't get the hype on baseball. Went to see few of NY Mets games and was bored. Was a great outdoor events with friends, beer etc, but paid scant little attention to events on field. There were just 2 scores and I missed both as I was busy chatting! A different version of Cricket, but equally boring.
Earlier this month I went to baseball games in Dallas, Houston, Tampa, and Miami. Takes me up to 23 ballparks. Hoping to finish the last 7 in the next couple years. Just have 3 trips to go.
- Seattle
- Los Angeles / Anaheim / Phoenix
- Mets / Phillies / Gnats
the only exceptions are the people that still scores games by hand, those are hardcore.![]()
That's actually great, do you have new pictures? And do you focus a lot on what happens on the field or are you casual?
Edit: And which stadium is the worst, I have been reading a bit about it and some stadiums are destroyed by people?
I have some but not of every place. Usually I pick cheap seats and watch a couple innings from them (unless there is a cool section to sit in like the rail in San Diego). Then I walk around the stadium and watch an inning from a different spot and so on all around the stadium to see the whole ballpark.
Worst is Tampa. Best are San Francisco, San Diego and Pittsburgh. What do you mean destroyed by people?
Half a dozens of stadiums are basically called shit holes, like Tampa, the White Sox stadium, Arizona, Oakland and there is a couple of other stadiums. So I have been wondering if people were exaggerating, for example the White Sox stadium allegedly smells like piss and Tampa's stadium is full of cockroaches.
I didn't find either of those things to be true. Comiskey Park is not good by means but considering what I had heard before I went it's really not that bad, just a bit cookie cutter. Tampa did a little but to make Tropicana okay but it's just a warehouse. It reminded me of the college hockey games I've been to more than anything.
“Here’s the honest to God’s truth,” Highsmith said, via the Canton Repository. “From the start of this college football season to the end of the season, I had Darnold No. 1 and Baker No. 2, [Josh] Rosen No. 3, [Lamar] Jackson No. 4 and [Josh] Allen after that. On our way through everything, you couldn’t tell me Darnold wasn’t the best. I did all my evaluations of the season.”
So what changed?
“[T]he part where you meet them off the field,” Highsmith said. “You watch their workouts. You watch everything. And Baker blew me away. Highly, highly intelligent. Highly competitive.
“And he had a trait that some of the good ones have. I call it efficacy. That includes the power to effect other people. I thought that of all the quarterbacks I watched, he stood out far and above the other guys. When he walked into a room, you knew he was there.”
“I was at an airport,” he said. “UCLA’s volleyball team was in front of me. You heard so much about Rosen. He’s this or that. We all know how people talk.
“So I asked one of the volleyball coaches, ‘What’s Rosen like?’ He said, ‘Aaaaa, you should probably ask his girlfriend. She’s one of the players. She’s over there.’
“I’m like, ‘All right coach. That’s good enough.’
“I don’t know what all this means, but there was something about him that bothered me.”
Anyone manage to get some tickets for the Wembley games? Got some for the Titans v Chargers but couldn't get any for the Eagles game.
Been to all the ones left on your list. I’ve got 10 left on mine. The two in Texas and two in FL will prolly be the toughest to scratch off.Earlier this month I went to baseball games in Dallas, Houston, Tampa, and Miami. Takes me up to 23 ballparks. If you ever find your way out to southern CA, you’ve got a place to stay.
I’m liking your itinerary especially since I’m a big fan of the Big Easy. Might copy that. What were you favorites / least favorites? I flew to Dallas and rented a car. Then did an afternoon game in Houston and drove to New Orleans. 2 full days in New Orleans then a drive to Miami. Did a game and 3 days split between Miami and Key West, then drove to Tampa for a game, dropped off the car and flew out of Tampa.

Least favorites - Angel Stadium (soulless piece of shit that is unfortunately the closest stadium to me), Oakland Coliseum was old, concrete, and empty and also a pile of shit but there’s something to be said for having an entire section to yourself, new Yankee Stadium (ridiculously overpriced), never been to Tropicana Field but I’d imagine it’s as shitty as it looks on tv. Chase Field was nothing to write home about.
Favorites - AT&T Park (beautiful stadium), PNC ballpark (beautiful park, walked across the bridge pre-game and for $4 got a free t-shirt and sat in field level seats (this was in 2008 when they sucked, prolly had 5,000 people there tops), Camden Yards (the first of the newer stadiums built in the mid-90s and still holding up well), Wrigley (sitting in the bleachers on a sunny day with a beer might be closest thing to baseball nirvana), and Dodger stadium (partial to it cos that’s my team). Also liked Petco, Citizens Bank Park, new Busch stadium, and Coors Field.
Looking forward to Miller Park and Target Field, which along with Comerica and US Cellular are 4 in the Midwest that I’ve yet to visit.
Had to google “Rapid City”. Geez man, South Dakota is a long ways from Detroit. I don’t mind long drives, but I’d prolly go with a buddy and split the driving to make it easier. If you have the money and don't mind flying, I would recommend flying New Orleans > Miami. I've done longer drives before (Detroit > Rapid City straight through) so I didn't mind it but I-10 is pretty dull.

He must have really impressed in personal interviews. Would love to know how.Patriots were apparently prepared to trade up to the #2 position to get Mayfield if the Browns took Darnold at 1.
He must’ve been rated higher all along amongst the NFL than generally thought, at least until right before the draft when the rumors of what would happen started gaining traction. He must have really impressed in personal interviews. Would love to know how.

Otherwise, the Browns should’ve been able to take one of the highest graded overall prospects (Barkley or Chubb) at #1 and still be confident of getting Baker at 4.
