NFL Thread

This is probably it. They just wanted to see him and probably let him believe it so.

According to The Athletic, the Patriots had been trying to get a visit with Mayfield scheduled, but Mayfield repeatedly declined to schedule a meeting because he didn’t think there was any way he would fall to No. 23, which was the Patriots’ first pick. But Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels told a member of Mayfield’s camp that the Patriots were considering a trade way up to No. 2, and that’s why Mayfield agreed to meet with the Patriots.

Cowboys press conference at 8 with Witten expected to officially announce his retirement.

I'm not crying, you are.

First $30M/year player in the NFL, I think? Not a bad deal to get when you're nearly 33, $100m guaranteed is crazy.

Bet Packers execs will be happy

It was already mentioned with the Cousins contract. Ryan would get a better one and then Rodgers will go for the jugular and get a 40m per year contract.

Yeah indeed, Rodgers will be smiling seeing this.

I personally think Ryan is a bit better than Cousins, but also more than three years older so to give him such a contract is a bit of a gamble as well imo. Falcons would've been better off to do it like the Saints and Brees.

I’d take Cousins over Ryan personally.
Hell no. I should preface that’s my initial reaction without looking at their numbers.

Edit - surprised by their 2017 stats. Cousins had 7 more TDs and everything else is pretty similar. Still prefer Ryan over Cousins, mind you.

I just don’t think Ryan will get a ring, whereas Cousins could

He just looks a bit odd in Orange.

Mark Ingram suspended for 4 games due to violation of the league's PED policy, but has already challenged the test results. Apparently it's a PED that's allowed by the NFL with an exemption or something.

I'm just hoping this is all cleared out before my league's draft.

Are preseason games worth buying tickets for? I'm probably in NY when the Giants face the Pats in their final preseason game. Not expecting any of the big names to play but I mean in terms of entertainment and atmosphere. If it's almost an empty stadium I'll probably give it a pass.

Week 3 would perhaps be worth it. Definitely get a decent chunk of starters.

Week 4, probably not tbh. None of the starters really play and at that point everyone’s kind of evaluating for final cuts and looking to week 1 of the regular season.

But in terms of entertainment and atmosphere, I don’t know - perhaps someone else’s will know better.

Also having been to MetLife it’s a really nice stadium.

If Cousins get a ring, it will be because of the defense and, as a Vikings fan, today I would take Ryan over Cousins. Ryan is a lot more steady, with a strong defense you are almost guaranteed to go far and have a chance to win a superbowl, in fact I would even be tempted to take Alex Smith and Stafford over Cousins.

Ingram‘s Suspension is the first step to the first overall pick for my Packers. Hopefully many more Saints players will follow his example.

Let me dream, please.

This is such a beautiful video , NFL is such a great sport and it's a pity that people think that it's just a bunch of big men pushing around

you couldnt pay me to watch preseason on tv

Yeah but you live in the US. I can only watch a live NFL game once in a couple of years at best.

Haven't watched one before either btw, I know they're crap.

Glad it's them. You've got the story of recovering from 0-16 and people like Baker Mayfield, Josh Gordon and Hue Jackson jumping in a lake at some point.

Hunter Henry has suffered a torn ACL during OTAs :(

That is some bullshit. Hope the Seahawks do what they did after Trump's comments and just don't come out for it at all. Makes it too easy to ignore if it's individual players but if a whole team doesn't come out it will still mean something. Either that or go for the raised fist like the 68 olympics.

Each team should have players who come out and kneel. That way the owners (who made this policy) will see the stupidity of implementing a rule that hits them all in the pocket book.

The should all kneel in respect of the national anthem.

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

The clause about each club implementing their own policy will be the out. Some owners will just decide to fine players the amount the club gets fined to make up for it.
